Genesis 13
Darby Bible
1And AbramH87 wentH5927 up out of EgyptH4714, he, and his wifeH802, and all that he had, and LotH3876 with him, towards the southH5045. 2And AbramH87 was veryH3966 rich in cattle, in silverH3701, and in goldH2091. 3And he went on his journeys from the southH5045 as far as Bethel; as far as the placeH4725 whereH834 his tentH168 had beenH1961 at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai; 4to the placeH4725 of the altarH4196 that he had madeH6213 there at the firstH7223. And there AbramH87 calledH7121 on the nameH8034 of Jehovah. 5And LotH3876 alsoH1571 who wentH1980 with AbramH87 had flocksH6629, and herdsH1241, and tentsH168. 6And the landH776 could not support them, that they might dwellH3427 togetherH3162, for their propertyH7399 wasH1961 greatH7227; and they could not dwellH3427 togetherH3162. 7And there wasH1961 strifeH7379 between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle. And the CanaaniteH3669 and the PerizziteH6522 wereH1961 dwellingH3427 thenH227 in the landH776. 8And AbramH87 saidH559 to LotH3876, I pray thee let there beH1961 no contention between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen, for we are brethren. 9Is not the whole landH776 before thee? SeparateH6504 thyself, I pray thee, from me: if to the left, then I will take the rightH3225; and if to the rightH3225, then I will take the left. 10And LotH3876 liftedH5375 up his eyesH5869, and beheld all the plain of the JordanH3383 that it was thoroughly watered, before Jehovah had destroyedH7843 SodomH5467 and GomorrahH6017; as the gardenH1588 of Jehovah, like the landH776 of EgyptH4714, as one goesH935 to ZoarH6820. 11And LotH3876 choseH977 for himself all the plain of the JordanH3383; and LotH3876 went toward the eastH6924. And they separatedH6504 the oneH376 from the other: 12AbramH87 dweltH3427 in the landH776 of CanaanH3667; and LotH3876 dweltH3427 in the citiesH5892 of the plain, and pitched tentsH167 as far as SodomH5467. 13And the people of SodomH5467 were wickedH7451, and great sinnersH2400 before Jehovah. 14And Jehovah saidH559 to AbramH87, after that LotH3876 had separatedH6504 himself from him, LiftH5375 up now thine eyesH5869, and lookH7200 from the placeH4725 whereH834 thou art, northward and southward and eastward and westward; 15for all the landH776 that thou seest will I giveH5414 to thee, and to thy seedH2233 for everH5769. 16And I will makeH7760 thy seedH2233 as the dustH6083 of the earthH776, so that if any oneH376 can numberH4487 the dustH6083 of the earthH776, thy seedH2233 alsoH1571 will be numberedH4487. 17AriseH6965, walkH1980 through the landH776 according to the lengthH753 of it and according to the breadthH7341 of it; for I will giveH5414 it to thee. 18Then AbramH87 moved [his] tentsH167, and cameH935 and dweltH3427 by the oaks of MamreH4471, which are in HebronH2275. And he builtH1129 there an altarH4196 to Jehovah.
