Genesis 6

Darby Bible

1And it came to pass when mankind beganH2490 to multiply on the earthH127, and daughtersH1323 wereH1961 bornH3205 to them, 2that the sonsH1121 of 1GodH430 sawH7200 the daughtersH1323 of menH120 that they were fair, and tookH3947 themselves wivesH802 of all that they choseH977. 3And Jehovah saidH559, My SpiritH7307 shall not always plead with ManH120; for he indeed is fleshH1320; but his daysH3117 shall beH1961 a hundredH3967 and twentyH6242 yearsH8141. 4In those daysH3117 were the giants on the earthH776, and alsoH1571 afterwards, when the sonsH1121 of 2GodH430 had comeH935 in to the daughtersH1323 of menH376, and they had borneH3205 [children] to them; these were the heroes, who of old were menH376 of renown. 5And Jehovah sawH7200 that the wickednessH7451 of ManH120 was greatH7227 on the earthH776, and every imagination of the thoughtsH4284 of his heartH3820 onlyH7535 evilH7451 continually. 6And Jehovah repentedH5162 that he had madeH6213 ManH120 on the earthH776, and it grieved him in his heartH3820. 7And Jehovah saidH559, I will destroy ManH120, whom I have createdH1254, from the earthH127 — from manH120 to cattleH929, to creepingH7431 thingsH7431, and to fowl of the heavensH8064; for I repentH5162 that I have madeH6213 them. 8But NoahH5146 foundH4672 favour in the eyesH5869 of Jehovah. 9This is the history of NoahH5146. NoahH5146 wasH1961 a just manH376, perfectH8549 amongst his generationsH1755: NoahH5146 walkedH1980 with 3GodH430. 10And NoahH5146 begot threeH7969 sonsH1121, ShemH8035, HamH2526, and JaphethH3315. 11And the earthH776 was corruptH7843 before 4GodH430, and the earthH776 was fullH4390 of violenceH2555. 12And 5GodH430 lookedH7200 upon the earthH776, and behold, it was corruptH7843; for all fleshH1320 had corruptedH7843 its wayH1870 on the earthH776. 13And 6GodH430 saidH559 to NoahH5146, The endH7093 of all fleshH1320 is comeH935 before me, for the earthH776 is fullH4390 of violenceH2555 through them; and behold, I will destroyH7843 them with the earthH776. 14MakeH6213 thyself an arkH8392 of gopher woodH6086: [with] cells shalt thou makeH6213 the arkH8392; and pitch it inside and outside with pitch. 15And thus shalt thou makeH6213 it: let the lengthH753 of the arkH8392 be threeH7969 hundredH3967 cubitsH520, the breadthH7341 of it fiftyH2572 cubitsH520, and the heightH6967 of it thirtyH7970 cubitsH520. 16A light shalt thou makeH7760 to the arkH8392; and to a cubitH520 high shalt thou finishH3615 it above. And the doorH6607 of the arkH8392 shalt thou setH7760 in its sideH6654: [with] a lower, secondH8145, and thirdH7992 [story] shalt thou makeH7760 it. 17For I, behold, I bringH935 a floodH3999 of watersH4325 on the earthH776, to destroyH7843 all fleshH1320 under the heavensH8064 in which is the breathH7307 of lifeH2416: everythingH3605 that is on the earthH776 shall expireH1478. 18But with thee will I establishH6965 my covenantH1285; and thou shalt goH935 into the arkH8392, thou, and thy sonsH1121, and thy wifeH802, and thy sons' wivesH802 with thee. 19And of every living thing of all fleshH1320, twoH8147 of every [sort] shalt thou bringH935 into the arkH8392, to keep [them] aliveH2416 with thee: they shall beH1961 maleH2145 and femaleH5347. 20Of fowl after their kindH4327, and of the cattleH929 after their kindH4327, of every creepingH7431 thingH7431 of the groundH127 after its kindH4327, twoH8147 of each shall goH935 in to thee, to keep [them] aliveH2421. 21And takeH3947 thou of all foodH3978 that is eatenH398, and gatherH622 [it] to thee, that it may beH1961 for foodH3978 for thee and for them. 22And NoahH5146 did it; according to all that 7GodH430 had commandedH6680 him, soH3651 did he.
