The Corruption of Mankind
1Now it cameH1961 about, whenH3588 menH120 beganH2490 to multiplyH7231 on the faceH6440 of the landH127, and daughtersH1323 were bornH3205 to them, 2that the sonsH1121 of GodH430 sawH7200 that the daughtersH1323 of menH120 were 1beautifulH2896; and they tookH3947 wivesH802 for themselves, whomeverH3605H834 they choseH977. 3Then the LordH3068 saidH559, “2My SpiritH7307 shall not 3striveH1777 with manH120 foreverH5769, 45becauseH7683 he alsoH7683 is fleshH1320; 6nevertheless his daysH3117 shall be one hundredH3967 and twentyH6242 yearsH8141.” 4The 7NephilimH5303 were on the earthH776 in thoseH1992 daysH3117, and alsoH1571 afterwardH310H3651, whenH834 the sonsH1121 of GodH430 cameH935 in to the daughtersH1323 of menH120, and they boreH3205 children to them. ThoseH1992 were the mightyH1368 menH1368 whoH834 were of oldH5769, menH376 of renownH8034.
5Then the LordH3068 sawH7200 that the wickednessH7463 of manH120 was greatH7227 on the earthH776, and that 8everyH3605 intentH3336 of the thoughtsH4284 of his heartH3820 was onlyH7534 evilH7451 continuallyH3605H3117. 69The LordH3068 was sorryH5162 that He had madeH6213 manH120 on the earthH776, and He was 10grievedH6087 11in His heartH3820. 7The LordH3068 saidH559, “12I will blotH4229 out manH120 whomH834 I have createdH1254 from the faceH6440 of the landH127, from manH120 to animalsH929 to creepingH7431 thingsH7431 and to birdsH5775 of the 13skyH8064; for 14I amH5162 sorryH5162 that I have madeH6213 them.” 8But 15NoahH5146 16foundH4672 favorH2580 in the eyesH5869 of the LordH3068.
9TheseH428 are the records of the generationsH8435 of NoahH5146. NoahH5146 was a 17righteousH6662 manH376, 1819blamelessH8549 in his 20timeH1755; NoahH5146 21walkedH1980 with GodH430. 10NoahH5146 22becameH3205 the fatherH3205 of threeH7969 sonsH1121: ShemH8035, HamH2526, and JaphethH3315.
11Now the earthH776 was 23corruptH7843 in the sightH6440 of GodH430, and the earthH776 was 24filledH4390 with violenceH2555. 12GodH430 lookedH7200 on the earthH776, and beholdH2009, it was corruptH7843; for 25allH3605 fleshH1320 had corruptedH7843 their wayH1870 upon the earthH776.
13Then GodH430 saidH559 to NoahH5146, “26The endH7093 of allH3605 fleshH1320 has comeH935 beforeH6440 Me; for the earthH776 is filledH4390 with violenceH2555 becauseH4480H6440 of them; and beholdH2009, I am about to destroyH7843 them with the earthH776. 14MakeH6213 for yourself an arkH8392 of gopherH1613 woodH6086; you shall makeH6213 the arkH8392 with roomsH7064, and shall 27coverH3722 it insideH4480H1004 and out with pitchH3724. 15ThisH2088 is howH834 you shall makeH6213 it: the lengthH753 of the arkH8392 threeH7969 hundredH3967 28cubitsH520, its breadthH7341 fiftyH2572 29cubitsH520, and its heightH6967 thirtyH7970 30cubitsH520. 16You shall makeH6213 a 31windowH6672 for the arkH8392, and finishH3615 it to a cubitH520 from 32the topH4605; and setH7760 the doorH6607 of the arkH8392 in the sideH6654 of it; you shall makeH6213 it with lowerH8482, secondH8145, and thirdH7992 decks. 17BeholdH2009, 33I, even I am bringingH935 the floodH3999 of waterH4325 upon the earthH776, to destroyH7843 allH3605 fleshH1320 in whichH834 is the breathH7307 of lifeH2425, from underH8478 heavenH8064; everythingH3605 that is on the earthH776 shall perishH1478. 18But I will establishH6965 34My covenantH1285 with you; and 35you shall enterH935 the arkH8392--you and your sonsH1121 and your wifeH802, and your sons’H1121 wivesH802 with you. 1936And of everyH3605 livingH2416 thingH2416 of allH3605 fleshH1320, you shall bringH935 twoH8147 of everyH3605 kind into the arkH8392, to keepH2421 them aliveH2421 with you; they shall be maleH2145 and femaleH5347. 2037Of the birdsH5775 after their kindH4327, and of the animalsH929 after their kindH4327, of everyH3605 creepingH7431 thingH7431 of the groundH127 after its kindH4327, twoH8147 of everyH3605 kind will comeH935 to you to keepH2421 them aliveH2421. 21As for you, takeH3947 for yourself someH4480 of allH3605 38foodH3978 whichH834 is edibleH398, and gatherH622 it to yourself; and it shall be for foodH402 for you and for them.” 2239Thus NoahH5146 didH6213; according to allH3605 that GodH430 had commandedH6680 him, soH3651 he didH6213.
