Genesis 42:29-38
29And they cameH935 into the landH776 of CanaanH3667, to JacobH3290 their fatherH1, and toldH5046 him all that had befallen them, sayingH559, 30The manH376, the lordH113 of the landH776, spokeH1696 roughly to us, and treated us as spiesH7270 of the landH776. 31And we saidH559 to him, We are honest; we are not spiesH7270: 32we are twelve brethren, sonsH1121 of our fatherH1; oneH259 is not, and the youngestH6996 is this dayH3117 with our fatherH1 in the landH776 of CanaanH3667. 33And the manH376, the lordH113 of the landH776, saidH559 to us, Hereby shall I knowH3045 that ye are honest: leave oneH259 of your brethren with me, and takeH3947 [for] the hunger of your householdsH1004, and go, 34and bringH935 your youngestH6996 brotherH251 to me, and I shall knowH3045 that ye are not spiesH7270, but are honest. Your brotherH251 will I giveH5414 up to you; and ye may trade in the landH776. 35And it came to pass as they emptied their sacksH8242, that behold, every manH376 had his bundle of moneyH3701 in his sackH8242; and they sawH7200 their bundles of moneyH3701, they and their fatherH1, and wereH1961 afraidH3372. 36And JacobH3290 their fatherH1 saidH559 to them, Ye have bereavedH7921 me of children: JosephH3130 is not, and SimeonH8095 is not, and ye will takeH3947 BenjaminH1144! All these things are against me. 37And ReubenH7205 spoke to his fatherH1, sayingH559, Slay my twoH8147 sonsH1121 if I bringH935 him not backH7725 to thee: giveH5414 him into my handH3027, and I will bringH935 him to thee again. 38But he saidH559, My sonH1121 shall not goH3381 down with you, for his brotherH251 is deadH4191, and he aloneH905 is leftH7604; and if mischief should befall him by the wayH1870 in which ye goH3381, then would ye bringH3381 down my grey hairsH7872 with sorrowH3015 to SheolH7585.
