Genesis 11:2-9

And it came to pass as they journeyed from the eastH6924, that they foundH4672 a plainH1237 in the landH776 of ShinarH8152, and dweltH3427 there.

And they saidH559 oneH376 to another, Come on, let us makeH3835 bricksH3843, and burnH8313 [them] thoroughly. And they had brickH3843 for stoneH68, and they had asphalt for mortar.

And they saidH559, Come on, let us buildH1129 ourselves a cityH5892 and a towerH4026, the topH7218 of which [may reach] to the heavensH8064; and let us makeH6213 ourselves a nameH8034, lestH6435 we be scatteredH6327 over the faceH6440 of the whole earthH776.

And Jehovah cameH3381 downH3381 to seeH7200 the cityH5892 and the towerH4026 which the children of menH120 builtH1129.

And Jehovah saidH559, Behold, the peopleH5971 is oneH259, and have all oneH259 languageH8193; and this have they begunH2490 to do. And nowH6258 will they be hindered in nothing that they meditate doing.

ComeH3381, let us goH3381 down, and there confound their languageH8193, that they may not understand oneH376 another's speech.

And Jehovah scatteredH6327 them thence over the faceH6440 of the whole earthH776. And they left off buildingH1129 the cityH5892.

ThereforeH3651 was its nameH8034 calledH7121 Babel; because Jehovah there confounded the languageH8193 of the whole earthH776. And Jehovah scatteredH6327 them thence over the faceH6440 of the whole earthH776.
