The Lost Sheep

1NowG1161 allG3956 the 1taxG5057 collectorsG5057 and 2sinnersG268 were comingG1448 nearG1448 3Jesus to listenG191 to Him. 2And bothG5037 the PhariseesG5330 and the scribesG1122 began to complainG1234, sayingG3004, “ThisG3778 ManG3778 receivesG4327 sinnersG268 and 4eatsG4906 with them.”

3And so He toldG3004 them thisG3778 parableG3850, sayingG3004, 4“5WhatG5101 manG444 amongG1537 you, if he hasG2192 a hundredG1540 sheepG4263 and has lostG622 oneG1520 of them, does not leaveG2641 the other ninety-nineG1752G1767 in the 6openG2048 pastureG2048 and goG4198 afterG1909 the one that is lostG622, untilG2193 he findsG2147 it? 5And when he has foundG2147 it, he putsG2007 it on his shouldersG5606, rejoicingG5463. 6And when he comesG2064 homeG3624, he callsG4779 togetherG4779 his friendsG5384 and his neighborsG1069, sayingG3004 to them, ‘RejoiceG4796 withG4796 me, becauseG3754 I have foundG2147 my sheepG4263 that was lostG622!’ 7I tellG3004 you that in the sameG3779 wayG3779, there will be more joyG5479 in heavenG3772 overG1909 oneG1520 sinnerG268 who repentsG3340 thanG2228 overG1909 ninety-nineG1752G1767 righteousG1342 peopleG1342 whoG3748 haveG2192 noG3756 needG5532 of repentanceG3341.

The Lost Coin

8“OrG2228 whatG5101 womanG1135, ifG1437 she hasG2192 tenG1176 7silverG1406 coinsG1406 and losesG622 oneG1520 coinG1406, does not lightG681 a lampG3088 and sweepG4563 the houseG3614 and searchG2212 carefullyG1960 untilG2193 she findsG2147 it? 9And when she has foundG2147 it, she callsG4779 togetherG4779 her friendsG5384 and neighborsG1069, sayingG3004, ‘RejoiceG4796 withG4796 me, becauseG3754 I have foundG2147 the coinG1406 whichG3739 I had lostG622!’ 10In the sameG3779 wayG3779, I tellG3004 you, there is joyG5479 8inG1799 theG1799 presenceG1799 ofG1799 the angelsG32 of GodG2316 overG1909 oneG1520 sinnerG268 who repentsG3340.”

The Prodigal Son

11And He saidG3004, “A manG444 hadG2192 twoG1417 sonsG5207. 12The youngerG3501 of them saidG3004 to his fatherG3962, ‘FatherG3962, giveG1325 me 9the shareG3313 of the estateG3776 that 10is comingG1911 to me.’ And so he dividedG1244 his 1112wealthG979 betweenG1244 them. 13And not manyG4183 daysG2250 laterG3326, the youngerG3501 sonG5207 gatheredG4863 everythingG3956 togetherG4863 and wentG589 onG589 aG589 journeyG589 to a distantG3117 countryG5561, and thereG1563 he squanderedG1287 his estateG3776 in 13wildG811 livingG2198. 14NowG1161 when he had 14spentG1159 everythingG3956, a severeG2478 famineG3042 occurredG1096 in that countryG5561, and he beganG757 doingG5302 withoutG5302. 15SoG2532 he wentG4198 and 15hiredG2853 himself outG2853 to oneG1520 of the citizensG4177 of that countryG5561, and he sentG3992 him into his fieldsG68 to feedG1006 pigsG5519. 16And he longedG1937 to haveG5526 his fillG5526 of the carobG2769 podsG2769 that the pigsG5519 were eatingG2068, and noG3762 oneG3762 was givingG1325 him anything. 17But when he cameG2064 to 16his sensesG1438, he saidG5346, ‘HowG4214 manyG4214 of my father’sG3962 hiredG3407 laborersG3407 haveG4052 moreG4052 thanG4052 enoughG4052 breadG740, but I am dyingG622 hereG5602 17from hungerG3042! 18I will setG450 outG450 and goG4198 to my fatherG3962, and will sayG3004 to him, “FatherG3962, I have sinnedG264 againstG1519 heavenG3772, and 18inG1799 your sightG1799; 19I amG1510 noG3765 longerG3765 worthyG514 to be calledG2564 your sonG5207; treatG4160 me as oneG1520 of your hiredG3407 laborersG3407.”’ 20SoG2532 he setG450 outG450 and cameG2064 to 19his fatherG3962. But when he was stillG2089 a longG3112 wayG3112 offG568, his fatherG3962 sawG3708 him and feltG4697 compassionG4697 for him, and ranG5143 and 2021embracedG1968G1909G5137 him and kissedG2705 him. 21And the sonG5207 saidG3004 to him, ‘FatherG3962, I have sinnedG264 againstG1519 heavenG3772 and 22inG1799 your sightG1799; I amG1510 noG3765 longerG3765 worthyG514 to be calledG2564 your sonG5207.’ 22But the fatherG3962 saidG3004 to his slavesG1401, ‘QuicklyG5035 bringG1627 outG1627 23the bestG4413 robeG4749 and putG1746 it on him, and 2425putG1325 a ringG1146 on his fingerG5495 and sandalsG5266 on his feetG4228; 23and bringG5342 the fattenedG4618 calfG3448, slaughterG2380 it, and let’s eatG2068 and celebrateG2165; 24for thisG3778 sonG5207 of mineG1473 was 26deadG3498 and has comeG326 toG326 lifeG326 againG326; he was lostG622 and has been foundG2147.’ And they beganG757 to celebrateG2165.

25“NowG1161 his olderG4245 sonG5207 was in the fieldG68, and whenG5613 he cameG2064 and approachedG1448 the houseG3614, he heardG191 musicG4858 and dancingG5525. 26And he summonedG4341 oneG1520 of the servantsG3816 and began inquiringG4441 whatG5101G302 theseG3778 thingsG3778 could be. 27And he saidG3004 to him, ‘Your brotherG80 hasG2240 comeG2240, and your fatherG3962 has slaughteredG2380 the fattenedG4618 calfG3448 becauseG3754 he has receivedG618 him backG618 safeG5198 andG5198 soundG5198.’ 28But he becameG3710 angryG3710 and was not willingG2309 to goG1525 inG1525; and his fatherG3962 cameG1831 outG1831 and began pleadingG3870 with him. 29But he answeredG611 and saidG3004 to his fatherG3962, ‘LookG2400! For soG5118 manyG5118 yearsG2094 I have been servingG1398 you and I have neverG3763 27neglectedG3928 a commandG1785 of yoursG4771; and yet you neverG3763 gaveG1325 me a youngG2056 goatG2056, soG2443 thatG2443 I might celebrateG2165 with my friendsG5384; 30but whenG3753 thisG3778 sonG5207 of yoursG4771 cameG2064, who has devouredG2719 your 2829wealthG979 with prostitutesG4204, you slaughteredG2380 the fattenedG4618 calfG3448 for him.’ 31And he saidG3004 to him, ‘SonG5043, you 30have alwaysG3842 beenG1510 with me, and allG3956 that is mineG1699 is yoursG4674. 32But we hadG1163 to celebrateG2165 and rejoiceG5463, becauseG3754 thisG3778 brotherG80 of yoursG4771 was 31deadG3498 and has begun to liveG2198, and was lostG622 and has been foundG2147.’”
