2And after He hadfastedνηστεύσαςnēsteusasG3522for fortyG5065daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250and fortyG5065nightsνύκταςnuktasG3571, HethenG5305became hungryἐπείνασεν.epeinasenG3983.

3Andthe tempterπειράζωνpeirazōnG3985cameπροσελθὼνproselthōnG4334and saidG3004to Him, “IfεἰeiG1487You are theSonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of Godθεοῦ,theouG2316,commandG3004that theseοὗτοιhoutoiG3778stonesλίθοιlithoiG3037becomeγένωνται.¶genōntaiG1096breadἄρτοιartoiG740.”

4But He answeredἀποκριθεὶςapokritheisG611and saidG3004,“It is writtenγέγραπται·gegraptaiG1125: ‘Manἄνθρωπος,anthrōposG444shall not liveζήσεταιzēsetaiG2198on breadἄρτῳartōG740aloneμόνῳmonōG3441,but on everyπαντὶpantiG3956wordῥήματιrhēmatiG4487that comesG1607outG1607ofδιὰdiaG1223the mouthστόματοςstomatosG4750of Godθεοῦ.¶theouG2316.’”

6and he saidλέγειlegeiG3004to Him, “IfεἰeiG1487You are the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of Godθεοῦ,theouG2316,throwβάλεbaleG906YourselfG4572downκάτω·katōG2736;for it is writtenγέγραπταιgegraptaiG1125: ‘He will giveἐντελεῖταιenteleitaiG1781His angelsἀγγέλοιςangeloisG32ordersG1781concerningπερὶperiG4012You’; and ‘On theirhandsχειρῶνcheirōnG5495they will liftἀροῦσίνarousinG142You up,SoG3379thatG3379You do notG3379strikeπροσκόψῃςproskopsēsG4350Your footπόδαpodaG4228againstπρὸςprosG4314a stoneλίθονlithonG3037.’”

7JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidἔφηephēG5346to him, “On the otherG3825handG3825,it is writtenγέγραπται·gegraptaiG1125: ‘You shall not putG1598the LordκύριονkurionG2962your GodθεόνtheonG2316toG1598theG1598testἐκπειράσειςekpeiraseisG1598.’”

9and he saidG3004to Him, “AllπάνταpantaG3956theseG3778thingsταῦτάtautaG3778I will giveδώσω,dōsōG1325You, ifἐὰνeanG1437You fallG4098downπεσὼνpesōnG4098andworshipπροσκυνήσῃςproskunēsēsG4352me.”

10ThenΤότεToteG5119JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidλέγειlegeiG3004to him,“GoὕπαγεhupageG5217awayG5217,Satanσατανᾶ·satanaG4567!For it is writtenγέγραπταιgegraptaiG1125: ‘You shall worshipπροσκυνήσειςproskunēseisG4352the LordκύριονkurionG2962your GodθεόνtheonG2316, andserveλατρεύσεις.latreuseisG3000Him onlyμόνῳmonōG3441.’”

13and leavingκαταλιπὼνkatalipōnG2641NazarethΝαζαρά,NazaraG3478,He cameἐλθὼνelthōnG2064andsettledκατῴκησενkatōkēsenG2730in CapernaumG2746,which is by the seaπαραθαλασσίανparathalassianG3864,in the regionὁρίοιςhorioisG3725of ZebulunΖαβουλὼνZaboulōnG2194and NaphtaliΝεφθαλίμ,NephthalimG3508.

14This happenedsoG2443thatG2443whatG3588was spokenλέγοντος·legontosG3004throughδιὰdiaG1223IsaiahἨσαΐουĒsaiouG2268the prophetπροφήτουprophētouG4396would be fulfilledπληρωθῇplērōthēaG4137:
