2And beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,a severeμέγας·megasG3173earthquakeσεισμὸςseismosG4578had occurredἐγένετοegenetoG1096, foran angelἄγγελοςangelosG32of the LordκυρίουkuriouG2962descendedκαταβὰςkatabasG2597from heavenοὐρανοῦouranouG3772and cameπροσελθὼνproselthōnG4334and rolledG617awayἀπεκύλισενapekulisenG617the stoneλίθονlithonG3037,and satἐκάθητοekathētoG2521upon it.

3Andhis appearanceG1490was likeG5613lightningἀστραπὴastrapēG796,and his clothingἔνδυμαendumaG1742as whiteλευκὸνleukonG3022as snowχιών.chiōnG5510.

4The guardsτηροῦντεςtērountesG5083shookἐσείσθησανeseisthēsanG4579from fearφόβουphobouG5401of him and becameἐγενήθησανegenēthēsanG1096likeὡςhōsG5613deadνεκροί.¶nekroiG3498menG3498.

5And the angelἄγγελοςangelosG32saidG3004to the womenγυναιξίν·gunaixinG1135, “Do not beG5399afraidG5399;for I knowG3609that you are lookingG2212forG2212JesusἸησοῦνIēsounG2424who has been crucifiedἐσταυρωμένονestaurōmenonG4717.

6He is not hereὧδε·hōdeG5602,for He has risenἠγέρθηēgerthēG1453,justG2531asG2531He saidG3004.ComeδεῦτεdeuteG1205,seeG3708the placeτόπονtoponG5117whereὅπουhopouG3699He was lyingἔκειτοekeitoG2749.

8And they leftἀπελθοῦσαιapelthousaiG565the tombμνημείουmnēmeiouG3419quicklyταχὺtachuG5035with fearφόβουphobouG5401and greatμεγάληςmegalēsG3173joyχαρᾶςcharasG5479,and ranἔδραμονedramonG5143to reportἀπαγγεῖλαιapangeilaiG518to His disciplesμαθηταῖςmathētaisG3101.

9And beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424metὑπήντησενhupēntēsenG5221themand saidλέγων·legōnG3004, “Rejoiceχαίρετε.chaireteG5463!”And they cameπροσελθοῦσαιproselthousaiG4334upG4334and tookG2902holdἐκράτησανekratēsanG2902of His feetπόδαςpodasG4228,and worshipedπροσεκύνησανprosekunēsanG4352Him.

10ThenΤότεToteG5119JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them, “Do not beG5399afraidG5399;goὑπάγετεhupageteG5217,bringG518wordG518toMy brothersἀδελφοῖςadelphoisG80to leaveἀπέλθωσινapelthōsinG565for GalileeΓαλιλαίανGalilaianG1056,and thereκἀκεῖkakeiekeiG1563they will seeG3708Me.”

11NowδὲdeG1161while they wereG4198onG4198their wayG4198,someτινεςtinesG5100of the men from theguardκουστωδίαςkoustōdiasG2892cameἐλθόντεςelthontesG2064into the cityπόλινpolinG4172and reportedἀπήγγειλανapēngeilanG518to the chiefἀρχιερεῦσινarchiereusinG749priestsG749allἅπανταhapantaG537that had happenedγενόμενα.genomenaG1096.

12And when they had assembledσυναχθέντεςsunachthentesG4863with the eldersπρεσβυτέρωνpresbuterōnG4245and consultedλαβόντεςlabontesG4824 G2983togetherG4824,they gaveἔδωκανedōkanG1325a largeG2425sumG2425of moneyἀργύριαarguriaG694to the soldiersστρατιώταιςstratiōtaisG4757,

13and saidλέγοντες·legontesG3004, “You are to sayG3004, ‘His disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101cameἐλθόντεςelthontesG2064at nightνυκτὸςnuktosG3571and stoleἔκλεψανeklepsanG2813Him while we wereG2837asleepκοιμωμένων.koimōmenōnG2837.’

14And ifἐὰνeanG1437thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778comesG191tothe governor’sἡγεμόνος,hēgemonosG2232earsG191,we will appeaseπείσομενpeisomenG3982him andkeepποιήσομεν.¶poiēsomenG4160you outG275ofG275troubleG275.”

15And they tookλαβόντεςlabontesG2983the moneyἀργύριαarguriaG694and didἐποίησανepoiēsanG4160as they had been instructedἐδιδάχθησαν.edidachthēsanG1321;and thisοὗτοςhoutosG3778storyλόγοςlogosG3056was widelyG1310spreadδιεφημίσθηdiephēmisthēG1310amongπαρὰparaG3844the JewsἸουδαίοιςIoudaioisG2453and isto thisG4594dayG4594.

17And when they sawG3708Him, they worshipedπροσεκύνησανprosekunēsanG4352Him; butsomeοἱhoiG3588were doubtfulἐδίστασαν.¶edistasanG1365.
