Matthew 9
Darby Bible
1And going on board the shipG4143, he passed over and cameG2064 to his ownG2398 cityG4172. 2And beholdG2400, they broughtG4374 to him a paralyticG3885, laid upon a bedG2825; and JesusG2424, seeingG3708 their faithG4102, saidG3004 to the paralyticG3885, Be of good courageG2293, childG5043; thy sinsG266 are forgivenG863. 3And beholdG2400, certainG5100 of the scribesG1122 saidG3004 to themselves, This [manG3778] blasphemesG987. 4And JesusG2424, seeingG3708 their thoughtsG1761, saidG3004, Why do ye think evilG4190 things in your heartsG2588? 5For which isG1510 easier: to sayG3004, Thy sinsG266 areG1510 forgivenG863; or to sayG3004, RiseG1453 up and walkG4043? 6But that ye may know that the SonG5207 of manG444 has powerG1849 on earthG1093 to forgiveG863 sinsG266, (then he saysG3004 to the paralyticG3885,) RiseG1453 up, takeG142 up thy bedG2825 and goG5217 to thy houseG3624. 7And he roseG1453 up and wentG565 to his houseG3624. 8But the crowdsG3793 seeingG3708 [it], were in fearG5399, and glorifiedG1392 1GodG2316 who gaveG1325 suchG5108 powerG1849 to menG444. 9And JesusG2424, passing on thence, sawG3708 a manG444 sittingG2521 at the tax-office, called MatthewG3156, and saysG3004 to him, FollowG190 me. And he roseG450 up and followedG190 him. 10And it cameG2064 to passG1096, as he lay at table in the houseG3614, that beholdG2400, manyG4183 tax-gatherers and sinnersG268 cameG2064 and lay at table with JesusG2424 and his disciplesG3101. 11And the PhariseesG5330 seeingG3708 [it], saidG3004 to his disciplesG3101, WhyG5101 does your teacherG1320 eatG2068 with tax-gatherers and sinnersG268? 12But [Jesus] hearingG191 it, saidG3004, They that are strongG2480 have not needG5532 of a physicianG2395, but those that are ill. 13But goG4198 and learnG3129 what [that] isG1510 — I will have mercyG1656 and not sacrificeG2378; for I have not comeG2064 to callG2564 righteousG1342 [menG1342] but sinnersG268. 14Then comeG4334 to him the disciplesG3101 of JohnG2491, sayingG3004, WhyG5101 do we and the PhariseesG5330 often fastG3522, but thy disciplesG3101 fastG3522 not? 15And JesusG2424 saidG3004 to them, Can the sonsG5207 of the bridechamber mournG3996 so long as the bridegroomG3566 isG1510 with them? But daysG2250 will comeG2064 whenG3752 the bridegroomG3566 will have beenG1510 taken awayG522 from them, and then they will fastG3522. 16But no oneG3762 putsG1911 a patchG1915 of new clothG4470 on an oldG3820 garmentG2440, for its filling up takesG142 from the garmentG2440 and a worse rent takesG142 placeG1096. 17Nor do men putG906 newG2537 wineG3631 into oldG3820 skins, otherwise the skins burstG4486 and the wineG3631 is pouredG906 out, and the skins will be destroyedG622; but they putG906 newG2537 wineG3631 into newG2537 skins, and both are preserved together. 18As he spokeG2980 these thingsG3778 to them, beholdG2400, a rulerG758 comingG2064 in did homage to him, sayingG3004, My daughterG2364 has by this died; but comeG2064 and lay thy handG5495 upon her and she shall liveG2198. 19And JesusG2424 roseG1453 up and followedG190 him, and [so did] his disciplesG3101. 20And beholdG2400, a womanG1135, who had had a bloody flux [for] twelveG1427 yearsG2094, cameG4334 behind and touchedG681 the hem of his garmentG2440; 21for she saidG3004 within herself, If I should onlyG3440 touchG681 his garmentG2440 I shall be healed. 22But JesusG2424 turningG4762 and seeingG3708 her, saidG3004, Be of good courageG2293, daughterG2364; thy faithG4102 has healed thee. And the womanG1135 was healed from that hourG5610. 23And when JesusG2424 was comeG2064 to the houseG3614 of the rulerG758, and sawG3708 the flute-playersG834 and the crowdG3793 making a tumult, 24he saidG3004, Withdraw, for the damsel is not deadG599, but sleeps. And they derided him. 25But whenG3753 the crowdG3793 had been putG1544 out, he wentG1525 in and tookG2902 her handG5495; and the damsel roseG1453 up. 26And the fame of it wentG1831 out into all that landG1093. 27And as JesusG2424 passed on thence, twoG1417 blindG5185 [menG5185] followedG190 him, cryingG2896 and sayingG3004, Have mercyG1653 on us, SonG5207 of DavidG1138. 28And when he was comeG2064 to the houseG3614, the blindG5185 [menG3778] cameG2064 to him. And JesusG2424 saysG3004 to them, Do ye believeG4100 that I am ableG1410 to do this? They sayG3004 to him, Yea, LordG2962. 29ThenG5119 he touchedG681 their eyesG3788, sayingG3004, AccordingG2596 to your faithG4102, be it unto you. 30And their eyesG3788 were openedG455; and JesusG2424 charged them sharply, sayingG3004, SeeG3708, let no man knowG1097 it. 31But they, when they were goneG1831 out, spread his name abroad in all that landG1093. 32But as these were goingG1831 out, beholdG2400, they broughtG4374 to him a dumb manG444 possessed by a demon. 33And the demonG1140 having been castG1544 out, the dumb spake. And the crowdsG3793 were astonishedG2296, sayingG3004, It has neverG3763 been seen thusG3779 in IsraelG2474. 34But the PhariseesG5330 saidG3004, He casts out the demonsG1140 through the princeG758 of the demonsG1140. 35And JesusG2424 went round all the citiesG4172 and the villagesG2968, teachingG1321 in their synagoguesG4864, and preachingG2784 the glad tidings of the kingdomG932, and healingG2323 every diseaseG3554 and every bodily weakness. 36But when he sawG3708 the crowdsG3793 he wasG1510 moved with compassionG4697 for them, because they wereG1510 harassed, and castG4496 away as sheepG4263 not having a shepherdG4166. 37ThenG5119 saith he to his disciplesG3101, The harvestG2326 [is] greatG4183 and the workmenG2040 [are] fewG3641; 38supplicate thereforeG3767 the LordG2962 of the harvestG2326, that he sendG1544 forth workmenG2040 unto his harvestG2326.
