Matthew 8
Darby Bible
1And when he had comeG2597 down from the mountainG3735, greatG4183 crowdsG3793 followedG190 him. 2And beholdG2400, a leperG3015 cameG4334 up to [him] and did him homage, sayingG3004, LordG2962, if thou wilt, thou art ableG1410 to cleanseG2511 me. 3And he stretchedG1614 out his handG5495 and touchedG681 him, sayingG3004, I willG2309; be cleansedG2511. And immediatelyG2112 his leprosyG3014 was cleansedG2511. 4And JesusG2424 saysG3004 to him, SeeG3708 thou tellG3004 no man, but goG5217, shew thyself to the priestG2409, and offerG4374 the giftG1435 which MosesG3475 ordained, for a testimonyG3142 to them. 5And when he had enteredG1525 into CapernaumG2584, a centurionG1543 cameG4334 to him, beseechingG3870 him, 6and sayingG3004, LordG2962, my servantG3816 lies paralyticG3885 in the houseG3614, suffering grievously. 7And Jesus saysG3004 to him, I will comeG2064 and healG2323 him. 8And the centurionG1543 answeredG611 and saidG3004, LordG2962, I amG1510 not fitG2425 that thou shouldest enterG1525 under my roofG4721; but onlyG3440 speakG3004 a wordG3056, and my servantG3816 shall beG1510 healedG2390. 9For I alsoG2532 amG1510 a manG444 under authorityG1849, having under me soldiersG4757, and I sayG3004 to this [oneG3778], GoG4198, and he goesG4198; and to another, ComeG2064, and he comesG2064; and to my bondman, Do this, and he does it. 10And when JesusG2424 heardG191 it, he wonderedG2296, and saidG3004 to those who followedG190, Verily I sayG3004 unto you, Not evenG2532 in IsraelG2474 have I foundG2147 so greatG5118 faithG4102. 11But I sayG3004 unto you, that manyG4183 shall comeG2240 from [the] rising and setting [sun], and shall lie down at table with AbrahamG11, and IsaacG2464, and JacobG2384 in the kingdomG932 of the heavensG3772; 12but the sonsG5207 of the kingdomG932 shall beG1510 castG1544 out into the outerG1857 darknessG4655: there shall beG1510 the weepingG2805 and the gnashingG1030 of teethG3599. 13And JesusG2424 saidG3004 to the centurionG1543, GoG5217, and as thou hast believedG4100, be it to thee. And his servantG3816 was healedG2390 in that hourG5610. 14And when JesusG2424 had comeG2064 to Peter's houseG3614, he sawG3708 his mother-in-law laid down and in a feverG4445; 15and he touchedG681 her handG5495, and the feverG4446 leftG863 her, and she arose and servedG1247 him. 16And when the eveningG3798 was comeG1096, they broughtG4374 to him manyG4183 possessed by demons, and he castG1544 out the spiritsG4151 with a wordG3056, and healedG2323 all that were ill; 17so that that should be fulfilled which was spoken through Esaias the prophetG4396, sayingG3004, Himself tookG2983 our infirmitiesG769 and boreG941 our diseasesG3554. 18And JesusG2424, seeingG3708 greatG4183 crowdsG3793 around him, commandedG2753 to departG565 to the otherG4008 sideG4008. 19And a scribeG1122 cameG4334 up and saidG3004 to him, TeacherG1320, I will followG190 thee whithersoever thou mayest goG565. 20And JesusG2424 saysG3004 to him, The foxesG258 have holes, and the birdsG4071 of the heavenG3772 roosting-places; but the SonG5207 of manG444 has not whereG4226 he may lay his headG2776. 21But another of his disciplesG3101 saidG3004 to him, LordG2962, suffer me firstG4413 to goG565 awayG565 and buryG2290 my fatherG3962. 22But JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, FollowG190 me, and leaveG863 the deadG3498 to buryG2290 their ownG1438 deadG3498. 23And he went on board shipG4143 and his disciplesG3101 followedG190 him; 24and beholdG2400, [the water] becameG1096 very agitated on the seaG2281, so that the shipG4143 was coveredG2572 by the waves; but he slept. 25And the disciples cameG4334 and awoke him, sayingG3004, LordG2962 saveG4982: we perishG622. 26And he saysG3004 to them, WhyG5101 areG1510 ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then, having arisenG1453, he rebukedG2008 the windsG417 and the seaG2281, and there wasG1510 a greatG3173 calmG1055. 27But the menG444 wereG1510 astonishedG2296, sayingG3004, What sort [of manG444] isG1510 this, that evenG2532 the windsG417 and the seaG2281 obeyG5219 him? 28And there met him, when he cameG2064 to the otherG4008 sideG4008, to the countryG5561 of the Gergesenes, twoG1417 possessed by demons, comingG2064 out of the tombsG3419, exceeding dangerous, so that no oneG5100 was ableG2480 to passG3928 by that wayG3598. 29And beholdG2400, they criedG2896 out, sayingG3004, What have we to do with thee, SonG5207 of 1GodG2316? hast thou comeG2064 hereG5602 before the timeG2540 to tormentG928 us? 30NowG1161 there wasG1510, a greatG4183 way off from them, a herdG34 of manyG4183 swine feedingG1006; 31and the demons besought him, sayingG3004, If thou castG1544 us out, sendG649 us away into the herdG34 of swine. 32And he saidG3004 to them, GoG5217. And they, goingG5217 out, departedG565 into the herdG34 of swine; and lo, the whole herdG34 [of swine] rushedG3729 down the steepG2911 slope into the seaG2281, and diedG599 in the watersG5204. 33But they that fed them fledG5343, and wentG565 awayG565 into the cityG4172 and related everythingG3956, and what had happened as to those possessed by demons. 34And beholdG2400, the whole cityG4172 wentG1831 out to meetG5222 JesusG2424; and when they sawG3708 him, they begged [him] to goG1831 awayG1831 out of their coasts.
