6NowG1161 a fountain of Jacob's wasG1510 there; JesusG2424 thereforeG3767, beingG1510 wearied with the wayG3779 he had come, sat just as he wasG1510 at the fountain. It wasG1510 about the sixthG1623 hourG5610.

7A womanG1135 comesG2064 out of SamariaG4540 to drawG501 waterG5204. JesusG2424 saysG3004 to her, GiveG1325 me to drinkG4095

8(for his disciplesG3101 had goneG565 awayG565 into the cityG4172 that they might buyG59 provisions).

9The SamaritanG4542 womanG1135 thereforeG3767 saysG3004 to him, HowG4459 dost thou, beingG1510 a JewG2453, askG154 to drinkG4095 of me who amG1510 a SamaritanG4542 womanG1135? for JewsG2453 have no intercourse with Samaritans.

10JesusG2424 answeredG611 and saidG3004 to her, If thou knewest the giftG1431 of 1GodG2316, and who it isG1510 that saysG3004 to thee, GiveG1325 me to drinkG4095, thou wouldest have askedG154 of him, and he would have givenG1325 thee livingG2198 waterG5204.

11The womanG1135 saysG3004 to him, SirG2962, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well isG1510 deepG901: whence then hast thou the livingG2198 waterG5204?

12Art thou greaterG3173 than our fatherG3962 JacobG2384, who gaveG1325 us the well, and drankG4095 of it himself, and his sonsG5207, and his cattle?

13JesusG2424 answeredG611 and saidG3004 to her, Every oneG3778 who drinksG4095 of this waterG5204 shall thirstG1372 againG3825;

14but whosoever drinksG4095 of the waterG5204 which I shall giveG1325 him shall never thirstG1372 for ever, but the waterG5204 which I shall giveG1325 him shall becomeG1096 in him a fountain of waterG5204, springing up into eternalG166 lifeG2222.

20Our fathersG3962 worshipped in this mountainG3735, and ye sayG3004 that in JerusalemG2414 isG1510 the placeG5117 whereG3699 oneG3778 must worshipG4352.

21JesusG2424 saysG3004 to her, WomanG1135, believeG4100 me, [the] hourG5610 is comingG2064 whenG3753 ye shall neither in this mountainG3735 nor in JerusalemG2414 worshipG4352 the FatherG3962.

22Ye worshipG4352 ye know not what; we worshipG4352 what we know, for salvationG4991 isG1510 of the JewsG2453.

23But [the] hourG5610 isG1510 comingG2064 and nowG3568 isG1510, whenG3753 the trueG228 worshippers shall worshipG4352 the FatherG3962 in spiritG4151 and truthG225; for alsoG2532 the FatherG3962 seeksG2212 suchG5108 as his worshippers.

242GodG2316 [is] a spiritG4151; and they who worshipG4352 him must worshipG4352 [him] in spiritG4151 and truthG225.

25The womanG1135 saysG3004 to him, I know that Messias is comingG2064, who is called ChristG5547; whenG3752 he comesG2064 he will tellG3004 us all things.

26JesusG2424 saysG3004 to her, I who speakG2980 to thee amG1510 [he].

27And upon this cameG2064 his disciplesG3101, and wonderedG2296 that he spokeG2980 with a womanG1135; yet no oneG3762 saidG3004, What seekest thou? or, WhyG5101 speakest thou with her?

28The womanG1135 then leftG863 her waterpot and wentG565 awayG565 into the cityG4172, and saysG3004 to the menG444,

29ComeG1205, seeG3708 a manG444 who toldG3004 me all thingsG3778 I had ever done: isG1510 not he the ChristG5547?

30They wentG1831 out of the cityG4172 and cameG2064 to him.

31But meanwhile the disciplesG3101 askedG2065 him sayingG3004, RabbiG4461, eatG2068.

32But he saidG3004 to them, I have foodG1035 to eatG2068 which ye do not know.

33The disciplesG3101 thereforeG3767 saidG3004 to oneG240 another, Has any oneG240 broughtG5342 him [anythingG5100] to eatG2068?

34JesusG2424 saysG3004 to them, My foodG1033 isG1510 that I should do the will of him that has sentG3992 me, and that I should finishG5048 his workG2041.

35Do not ye sayG3004, that there areG1510 yet four months and the harvestG2326 comesG2064? BeholdG2400, I sayG3004 to you, LiftG1869 up your eyesG3788 and beholdG2400 the fieldsG5561, for they areG1510 alreadyG2235 whiteG3022 to harvestG2326.

36He that reapsG2325 receivesG2983 wagesG3408 and gathersG4863 fruitG2590 unto lifeG2222 eternalG166, that both he that sowsG4687 and he that reapsG2325 may rejoiceG5463 togetherG4863.

37For in this isG1510 [verified] the trueG228 sayingG3056, It isG1510 oneG3778 who sowsG4687 and another who reapsG2325.

38I have sentG649 you to reapG2325 that on which ye have not laboured; othersG243 have laboured, and ye have enteredG1525 into their labours.

39But manyG4183 of the SamaritansG4541 of that cityG4172 believedG4100 on him because of the wordG3056 of the womanG1135 who bore witnessG3140, He toldG3004 me all thingsG3956 that I had ever done.

40WhenG5613 thereforeG3767 the SamaritansG4541 cameG2064 to him they askedG2065 him to abideG3306 with them, and he abode there twoG1417 daysG2250.

41And moreG4183 a greatG4183 deal believedG4100 on accountG3056 of his wordG3056;

42and they saidG3004 to the womanG1135, [It isG1510] no longer on accountG1223 of thy sayingG3004 that we believeG4100, for we have heardG191 him ourselves, and we know that this isG1510 indeed the Saviour of the worldG2889.
