Genesis 31:26-42
And LabanH3837 saidH559 to JacobH3290, What hast thou done, that thou hast deceived me, and hast carried away my daughtersH1323 as captivesH7617 of war?
WhyH4100 didst thou fleeH1272 awayH7971 covertly, and stealH1589 awayH7971 from me, and didst not tellH5046 me, that I might have conducted thee with mirth and with songsH7892, with tambour and with harpH3658;
and hast not suffered me to kiss my sonsH1121 and my daughtersH1323? NowH6258 thou hast actedH5528 foolishlyH5528.
It would be in the power of my handH3027 to do you hurt; but the 1GodH430 of your fatherH1 spokeH1696 to me lastH570 nightH570, sayingH559, TakeH8104 care that thou speakH1696 not to JacobH3290 either goodH2896 or badH7451.
And nowH6258 that thou must needs be goneH1980, because thou greatly longedst after thy father's houseH1004, whyH4100 hast thou stolenH1589 my 2godsH430?
And JacobH3290 answered and saidH559 to LabanH3837, I was afraidH3372; for I saidH559, LestH6435 thou shouldest take by force thy daughtersH1323 from me.
With whomsoever thou findest thy 3godsH430, he shall not liveH2421. Before our brethren discern what is thine with me, and takeH3947 [it] to thee. But JacobH3290 did not knowH3045 that RachelH7354 had stolenH1589 them.
And LabanH3837 wentH3318 into Jacob's tentH168, and into Leah's tentH168, and into the twoH8147 handmaids' tentsH168, and foundH4672 nothing; and he wentH3318 out of Leah's tentH168, and entered into Rachel's tentH168.
Now RachelH7354 had takenH3947 the teraphimH8655 and putH7760 them under the camel's saddle; and she satH3427 upon them. And LabanH3837 explored all the tentH168, but foundH4672 nothing.
And she saidH559 to her fatherH1, Let it not be an occasion of anger in the eyesH5869 of my lordH113 that I cannot riseH6965 up before thee, for it is with me after the manner of womenH802. And he searchedH2664 carefully, but did not findH4672 the teraphimH8655.
And JacobH3290 was angryH2734, and he disputed with LabanH3837. And JacobH3290 answered and saidH559 to LabanH3837, What is my fault, what my sinH2403, that thou hast so hotlyH1814 pursued after me?
Whereas thou hast explored all my baggage, what hast thou foundH4672 of all thy householdH1004 stuff? SetH7760 [it] here before my brethren and thy brethren, and let them decideH3198 between us both.
These twentyH6242 yearsH8141 have I been with thee: thy ewesH7353 and thy she-goats have not cast their young, and the ramsH352 of thy flockH6629 I have not eatenH398.
What was tornH2966 I have not broughtH935 to thee; I had to bear the loss of it: of my handH3027 hast thou requiredH1245 it, [whether] stolenH1589 by dayH3117 or stolenH1589 by nightH3915.
Thus it wasH1961 with me: in the dayH3117 the heat consumedH398 me, and the frostH7140 by nightH3915; and my sleepH8142 fledH5074 from mine eyesH5869.
I have been these twentyH6242 yearsH8141 in thy houseH1004: I have servedH5647 thee fourteen yearsH8141 for thy twoH8147 daughtersH1323, and sixH8337 yearsH8141 for thy flockH6629; and thou hast changedH2498 my wagesH4909 tenH6235 times.
Had not the 4GodH430 of my fatherH1, the 5GodH430 of AbrahamH85, and the fearH6343 of IsaacH3327, beenH1961 with me, it is certain thou wouldest have sentH7971 me awayH7971 nowH6258 emptyH7387. 6GodH430 has lookedH7200 upon my affliction and the labour of my handsH3709, and has judged lastH570 nightH570.
