Acts 10:3-30
— sawG3708 plainly in a visionG3705, about the ninth hourG5610 of the dayG2250, an angelG32 of 1GodG2316 comingG1525 unto him, and sayingG3004 to him, CorneliusG2883.
But he, having fixed his eyes upon him, and becomeG1096 full of fear, saidG3004, What isG1510 it, LordG2962? And he saidG3004 to him, Thy prayersG4335 and thine almsG1654 have goneG305 up for a memorialG3422 before 2GodG2316.
And nowG3568 sendG3992 menG435 to JoppaG2445 and fetch SimonG4613, who is surnamed PeterG4074.
He lodges with a certainG5100 SimonG4613, a tannerG1038, whose houseG3614 isG1510 by the seaG2281.
And whenG5613 the angelG32 who was speakingG2980 to him had departedG565, having calledG5455 twoG1417 of his household and a pious soldierG4757 of those who were constantly with him,
and related all things to them, he sentG649 them to JoppaG2445.
And on the morrow, as these were journeying and drawingG1448 near to the cityG4172, PeterG4074 wentG305 up on the house to prayG4336, about the sixthG1623 hourG5610.
And he becameG1096 hungry and desiredG2309 to eatG1089. But as they were making ready an ecstasy cameG1096 upon him:
and he beholdsG2334 the heavenG3772 openedG455, and a certainG5100 vesselG4632 descendingG2597, as a greatG3173 sheetG3607, [bound] by [the] fourG5064 cornersG746 [and] let down to the earthG1093;
in which were all the quadrupeds and creeping thingsG3956 of the earthG1093, and the fowls of the heavenG3772.
And there was a voiceG5456 to him, RiseG450, PeterG4074, slay and eatG2068.
And PeterG4074 saidG3004, In no wise, LordG2962; for I have neverG3763 eatenG2068 anything commonG2839 or uncleanG169.
And [there was] a voiceG5456 againG3825 the secondG1208 timeG1208 to him, What 3GodG2316 has cleansedG2511, do not thou make common.
And this took placeG1096 thrice, and the vesselG4632 was straightway taken up into heavenG3772.
And as PeterG4074 doubted in himself what the visionG3705 which he had seenG3708 might mean, beholdG2400 alsoG1161 the menG435 who wereG1510 sentG649 by CorneliusG2883, having sought out the houseG3614 of SimonG4613, stood at the gateG4440,
and having calledG5455 [some oneG3588], they inquiredG4441 if SimonG4613 who was surnamed PeterG4074 was lodged there.
But as PeterG4074 continued pondering over the visionG3705, the SpiritG4151 saidG3004 to him, BeholdG2400, three menG435 seekG2212 thee;
but riseG450 up, goG4198 down, and goG4198 with them, nothingG3367 doubtingG1252, because I have sentG649 them.
And PeterG4074 goingG2597 downG2597 to the menG435 saidG3004, BeholdG2400, I amG1510 he whom ye seekG2212: what isG1510 the causeG156 for which ye comeG2597?
And they saidG3004, CorneliusG2883, a centurionG1543, a righteousG1342 manG435, and fearingG5399 4GodG2316, and borne witnessG3140 to by the wholeG3650 nationG1484 of the JewsG2453, has been divinely instructed by a holyG40 angelG32 to sendG3343 for thee to his houseG3624, and hearG191 words from thee.
Having thereforeG3767 invited them in, he lodged them. And on the morrow, risingG450 up he wentG1831 awayG1831 with them, and certainG5100 of the brethren from JoppaG2445 wentG1831 with him.
And on the morrow they cameG1525 to CaesareaG2542. But CorneliusG2883 wasG1510 lookingG4328 for them, having calledG4779 togetherG4779 his kinsmen and [his] intimate friendsG5384.
And whenG5613 PeterG4074 was nowG1161 comingG1525 in, CorneliusG2883 met him, and fallingG4098 downG4098 did [him] homage.
But PeterG4074 made him riseG450, sayingG3004, RiseG450 up: I myself alsoG2532 amG1510 a manG444.
And he wentG1525 in, talking with him, and foundG2147 manyG4183 gatheredG4905 togetherG4905.
And he saidG3004 to them, Ye knowG1987 howG5613 it isG1510 unlawful for a JewG2453 to beG1510 joinedG2853 or come to oneG3367 of a strange race, and to me 5GodG2316 has shewn to call no manG444 commonG2839 or uncleanG169.
Wherefore alsoG2532, having been sentG3343 for, I cameG2064 without sayingG3056 anything against it. I inquireG4441 thereforeG3767 for what reason ye have sentG3343 for me.
And CorneliusG2883 saidG5346, Four daysG2250 ago I had beenG1510 [fasting] unto this hourG5610, and the ninth [I wasG1510] prayingG4336 in my houseG3624, and lo, a manG435 stoodG2476 before me in brightG2986 clothing,
