Mark 4
1And againG3825 he beganG757 to teachG1321 by the seaG2281. And a greatG4183 crowdG3793 wasG1510 gatheredG4863 togetherG4863 to him, so that going on board shipG4143 he satG2521 in the seaG2281, and all the crowdG3793 wereG1510 close to the seaG2281 on the landG1093. 2And he taughtG1321 them manyG4183 thingsG4183 in parablesG3850. And he saidG3004 to them in his doctrine, 3Hearken: BeholdG2400, the sower wentG1831 forthG1831 to sowG4687. 4And it cameG2064 to passG1096 as he sowedG4687, oneG3739 fellG4098 by the wayside, and the birdsG4071 cameG2064 and devouredG2719 it. 5And another fellG4098 on the rockyG4075 groundG1093, whereG3699 it had not muchG4183 earthG1093, and immediately it sprung up out [of the groundG1093] because it had no depthG899 of earthG1093; 6and whenG3753 the sunG2246 arose it was burnt up, and because of its not having any rootG4491, it witheredG3583. 7And another fellG4098 among the thornsG173, and the thornsG173 grew up and chokedG4846 it, and it yielded no fruitG2590. 8And another fellG4098 into the goodG2570 groundG1093, and yielded fruitG2590, growingG837 up and increasingG837; and bore, oneG1520 thirtyG5144, and oneG1520 sixtyG1835, and oneG1520 a hundredG1540. 9And he saidG3004, He that has earsG3775 to hearG191, let him hearG191. 10And whenG3753 he was aloneG3441, those about him with the twelveG1427 askedG2065 him [as to] the parablesG3850. 11And he saidG3004 to them, To you is givenG1325 [to know] the mysteryG3466 of the kingdomG932 of 1GodG2316; but to them who are without, all thingsG3956 are done in parablesG3850, 12that beholding they may behold and not seeG3708, and hearingG191 they may hearG191 and not understandG4920, lestG3361 it may be, they should be converted and they should be forgivenG863. 13And he saysG3004 to them, Do ye not knowG1097 this parableG3850? and howG4459 will ye be acquainted with all the parablesG3850? 14The sower sowsG4687 the wordG3056: 15and these areG1510 they by the wayside whereG3699 the wordG3056 isG1510 sownG4687, and whenG3752 they hearG191, immediately SatanG4567 comesG2064 and takesG142 awayG142 the wordG3056 that wasG1510 sownG4687 in them. 16And these areG1510 they in like manner who areG1510 sownG4687 upon the rockyG4075 places, who whenG3752 they hearG191 the wordG3056, immediately receiveG2983 it with joyG5479, 17and they have no rootG4491 in themselves, but areG1510 for a time: then, tribulationG2347 arising, or persecutionG1375 on accountG3056 of the wordG3056, immediately they areG1510 offendedG4624. 18And othersG243 areG1510 they who areG1510 sownG4687 among the thornsG173: these areG1510 they who have heardG191 the wordG3056, 19and the caresG3308 of life, and the deceitfulness of richesG4149, and the lustsG1939 of otherG3062 thingsG3062, enteringG1531 in, chokeG4846 the wordG3056, and it becomesG1096 unfruitfulG175. 20And these areG1510 they who have beenG1510 sownG4687 on the goodG2570 groundG1093, such as hearG191 the wordG3056 and receiveG3858 it, and bear fruitG2592; oneG1520 thirtyG5144, and oneG1520 sixtyG1835, and oneG1520 a hundredG1540 [fold]. 21And he saidG3004 to them, Does the lampG3088 comeG2064 that it should be putG5087 under the bushel or under the couch? [Is it] not that it should be setG5087 upon the lamp-stand? 22For there isG1510 nothing hidden which shall not beG1510 made manifestG5319; nor does any secretG2927 thing take placeG1096, but that it should comeG2064 to lightG5318. 23If any oneG5100 have earsG3775 to hearG191, let him hearG191. 24And he saidG3004 to them, TakeG991 heedG991 what ye hearG191; with what measureG3354 ye mete, it shall be meted to you; and there shall be [more] addedG4369 to you. 25For whosoever has, to him shall be givenG1325; and he who has not, evenG2532 what he has shall be takenG142 from him. 26And he saidG3004, ThusG3779 isG1510 the kingdomG932 of 2GodG2316, as if a manG444 should castG906 the seedG4703 upon the earthG1093, 27and should sleepG2518 and riseG1453 up nightG3571 and dayG2250, and the seedG4703 should sprout and grow, he does not know howG5613. 28The earthG1093 bears fruitG2592 of itself, firstG4413 [the] blade, thenG1534 an ear, thenG1534 fullG4134 corn in the ear. 29But whenG3752 the fruitG2590 is produced, immediately he sendsG649 the sickleG1407, for the harvestG2326 is come. 30And he saidG3004, HowG4459 should we liken the kingdomG932 of 3GodG2316, or with what comparison should we compare it? 31As to a grainG2848 of mustardG4615 [seedG4690], which, whenG3752 it isG1510 sownG4687 upon the earthG1093, isG1510 less than all seedsG4690 which areG1510 upon the earthG1093, 32and whenG3752 it has been sownG4687, mounts up and becomesG1096 greaterG3173 than all herbs, and producesG4160 greatG3173 branchesG2798, so that the birdsG4071 of heavenG3772 can roost under its shadowG4639. 33And with manyG4183 suchG5108 parablesG3850 he spokeG2980 the wordG3056 to them, as they were ableG1410 to hearG191, 34but without a parableG3850 spokeG2980 he not to them; and in private he explained all thingsG3956 to his disciplesG3101. 35And on that dayG2250, when eveningG3798 was comeG1096, he saysG3004 to them, Let us goG1330 over to the otherG4008 sideG4008: 36and having sent away the crowdG3793, they takeG3880 him with [them], as he wasG1510, in the shipG4143. But otherG243 shipsG4143 alsoG2532 wereG1510 with him. 37And there comesG1096 a violent gust of windG417, and the waves beat into the shipG4143, so that it alreadyG2235 filledG1072. 38And he wasG1510 in the sternG4403 sleepingG2518 on the cushion. And they awake him up and sayG3004 to him, TeacherG1320, dost thou not careG3199 that we areG1510 perishingG622? 39And awaking up he rebukedG2008 the windG417, and saidG3004 to the seaG2281, Silence; be mute. And the windG417 fell, and there was a greatG3173 calmG1055. 40And he saidG3004 to them, WhyG5101 areG1510 ye [thusG3779] fearful? howG4459 [isG1510 it] ye have not faithG4102? 41And they fearedG5399 [with] greatG3173 fearG5401, and saidG3004 oneG240 to another, Who then isG1510 this, that evenG2532 the windG417 and the seaG2281 obeyG5219 him?
