Mark 9

1And he saidG3004 to them, Verily I sayG3004 unto you, There areG1510 some of those standingG2476 hereG5602 that shall not tasteG1089 deathG2288 until they shall have seenG3708 the kingdomG932 of 1GodG2316 comeG2064 in powerG1411. 2And after sixG1803 daysG2250 JesusG2424 takesG3880 with [him] PeterG4074 and JamesG2385 and JohnG2491, and takesG3880 them up on a highG5308 mountainG3735 by themselves apart. And he was transfigured before them: 3and his garmentsG2440 becameG1096 shining, exceeding whiteG3022 [as snow], such as fuller on earthG1093 could not whiten [them]. 4And there appeared to them Elias with MosesG3475, and they wereG1510 talkingG4814 with JesusG2424. 5And PeterG4074 answeringG611 saysG3004 to JesusG2424, RabbiG4461, it isG1510 goodG2570 that we should beG1510 hereG5602; and let us makeG4160 threeG5140 tabernaclesG4633, for thee oneG1520, and for MosesG3475 oneG1520, and for Elias oneG1520. 6For he knew not what he should say, for they were filled with fear. 7And there cameG1096 a cloudG3507 overshadowingG1982 them, and there cameG1096 a voiceG5456 out of the cloudG3507, This isG1510 my belovedG27 SonG5207: hearG191 him. 8And suddenly having looked around, they noG3762 longer sawG3708 any oneG3762, but JesusG2424 aloneG3441 with themselves. 9And as they descendedG2597 from the mountainG3735, he charged them that they should relate to no oneG3367 what they had seenG3708, unless whenG3752 the SonG5207 of manG444 should be risenG450 from among [the] deadG3498. 10And they kept that sayingG3056, questioning among themselves, what risingG450 from among [the] deadG3498 wasG1510. 11And they askedG1905 him sayingG3004, Why do the scribesG1122 sayG3004 that Elias must firstG4413 have comeG2064? 12And he answering saidG5346 to them, Elias indeed, having firstG4413 comeG2064, restores all thingsG3956; and howG4459 is it writtenG1125 of the SonG5207 of manG444 that he must sufferG3958 muchG4183, and be set at nought: 13but I sayG3004 unto you that Elias alsoG2532 is comeG2064, and they have done to him whatever they would, as it is writtenG1125 of him. 14And when he cameG2064 to the disciplesG3101 he sawG3708 a greatG4183 crowdG3793 around them, and scribesG1122 disputing against them. 15And immediately all the crowdG3793 seeingG3708 him were amazed, and runningG4370 to [him], saluted him. 16And he askedG1905 them, What do ye questionG1905 with them about? 17And oneG1520 out of the crowdG3793 answeredG611 him, TeacherG1320, I broughtG5342 to thee my sonG5207, who has a dumb spiritG4151; 18and wheresoever it seizes him it tears him, and he foams and gnashes his teethG3599, and he is withering awayG3583. And I spokeG3004 to thy disciplesG3101, that they might castG1544 him out, and they could not. 19But he answeringG611 them saysG3004, O unbelievingG571 generationG1074! how long shall I beG1510 with you? how long shall I bearG5342 with you? bringG5342 him to me. 20And they broughtG5342 him to him. And seeingG3708 him the spiritG4151 immediately tore him; and fallingG4098 upon the earthG1093 he rolled foaming. 21And he askedG1905 his fatherG3962, HowG5613 long a timeG5550 isG1510 it that it has beenG1510 like this with him? And he saidG3004, From childhood; 22and oftenG4178 it has castG906 him both into fireG4442 and into watersG5204 that it might destroyG622 him: but if thou couldst [do] anythingG5100, be moved with pity on us, and helpG997 us. 23And JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, The 'if thou couldst' is [if thou couldst] believeG4100: all thingsG3956 are possibleG1415 to him that believesG4100. 24And immediately the fatherG3962 of the young childG3813 cryingG2896 out saidG3004 [with tears], I believeG4100, helpG997 mineG1473 unbeliefG570. 25But JesusG2424, seeingG3708 that [the] crowdG3793 was running up together, rebukedG2008 the uncleanG169 spiritG4151, sayingG3004 to him, Thou dumb and deafG2974 spiritG4151, I command thee, comeG1831 out of him, and enterG1525 no moreG3371 into him. 26And having criedG2896 out and torn [him] muchG4183, he cameG1096 out; and he becameG1096 as if deadG3498, so that the most saidG3004, He is deadG3498. 27But JesusG2424, having taken holdG2902 of him by the handG5495, lifted him up, and he aroseG450. 28And when he was enteredG1525 into the houseG3624, his disciplesG3101 askedG1905 him privately, Wherefore could not we castG1544 him out? 29And he saidG3004 to them, This kindG1085 can goG1831 out by nothing but by prayerG4335 and fasting. 30And goingG1831 forthG1831 from thence they wentG1831 through GalileeG1056; and he would not that any oneG5100 knewG1097 it; 31for he taughtG1321 his disciplesG3101 and saidG3004 to them, The SonG5207 of manG444 is deliveredG3860 into men's handsG5495, and they shall killG615 him; and having been killedG615, after threeG5140 daysG2250 he shall riseG450 againG450. 32But they understood not the saying, and fearedG5399 to askG1905 him. 33And he cameG2064 to CapernaumG2584, and being in the houseG3614, he askedG1905 them, Of what were ye reasoningG1260 by the wayG3598? 34And they remained silentG4623, for by the wayG3598 they had been reasoningG1256 with oneG240 another who [was] greatestG3173. 35And sittingG2523 downG2523 he called the twelveG1427; and he saysG3004 to them, If any oneG5100 would beG1510 firstG4413, he shall beG1510 lastG2078 of all, and ministerG1249 of all. 36And takingG2983 a little childG3813 he setG2476 it in their midstG3319, and having takenG2983 it in his arms he saidG3004 to them, 37Whosoever shall receiveG1209 oneG1520 of suchG5108 little childrenG3813 in my nameG3686, receivesG1209 me; and whosoever shall receiveG1209 me, does not receiveG1209 me, but him who sentG649 me. 38And JohnG2491 answered him saying, TeacherG1320, we sawG3708 some oneG5100 casting out demonsG1140 in thy nameG3686, who does not followG190 us, and we forbad him, because he does not followG190 us. 39But JesusG2424 saidG3004, ForbidG2967 him not; for there isG1510 no oneG3762 who shall do a miracle in my nameG3686, and beG1510 ableG1410 soon [after] to speakG3004 ill of me; 40for he who isG1510 not against us isG1510 for us. 41For whosoever shall giveG4222 you a cupG4221 of waterG5204 to drinkG4222 in [my] nameG3686, because ye areG1510 Christ's, verily I sayG3004 unto you, he shall in no wise loseG622 his rewardG3408. 42And whosoever shall beG1510 a snare to oneG1520 of the littleG3398 onesG3398 who believeG4100 [in me], it wereG1510 betterG2570 for him if a millstoneG3458 wereG1510 hung about his neckG5137, and he castG906 into the seaG2281. 43And if thy handG5495 serve as a snare to thee, cutG609 it off: it isG1510 betterG2570 for thee to enterG1525 into lifeG2222 maimed, than having thy twoG1417 handsG5495 to goG565 awayG565 into hellG1067, into the fireG4442 unquenchableG762; 44[where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched]. 45And if thy footG4228 serve as a snare to thee, cutG609 it off: it isG1510 betterG2570 for thee to enterG1525 into lifeG2222 lameG5560, than having thy twoG1417 feetG4228 to beG1510 castG906 into hellG1067, into the fire unquenchable; 46[where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched]. 47And if thine eyeG3788 serve as a snare to thee, castG906 it out: it isG1510 betterG2570 for thee to enterG1525 into the kingdomG932 of 2GodG2316 with oneG3588 eyeG3788, rather than having twoG1417 eyesG3788 to beG1510 castG906 into the hellG1067 of fire, 48whereG3699 their worm dies not, and the fireG4442 is not quenchedG4570. 49For every one shall be saltedG233 with fireG4442, and every sacrifice shall be saltedG233 with salt. 50SaltG217 [is] goodG2570, but if the saltG217 is becomeG1096 saltless, wherewith will ye season it? Have saltG217 in yourselves, and be at peaceG1514 with oneG240 another.
