Mark 4
1And againG3825 he beganG757 to teachG1321 by the seaG2281 side. And there isG1510 gatheredG4863 unto him a very greatG4183 multitudeG3793, so that he entered into a boatG4143, and satG2521 in the seaG2281; and all the multitudeG3793 wereG1510 by the seaG2281 on the landG1093. 2And he taughtG1321 them manyG4183 thingsG4183 in parablesG3850, and saidG3004 unto them in his teachingG1321, 3Hearken: BeholdG2400, the sower wentG1831 forthG1831 to sowG4687: 4and it cameG2064 to passG1096, as he sowedG4687, some seed fellG4098 by the wayG3598 side, and the birdsG4071 cameG2064 and devouredG2719 it. 5And otherG243 fellG4098 on the rockyG4075 groundG1093, whereG3699 it had not muchG4183 earthG1093; and straightway it sprang up, because it had no deepness of earthG1093: 6and whenG3753 the sunG2246 was risen, it was scorchedG2739; and because it had no rootG4491, it witheredG3583 awayG3583. 7And otherG243 fellG4098 among the thornsG173, and the thornsG173 grew up, and chokedG4846 it, and it yielded no fruitG2590. 8And othersG243 fellG4098 into the goodG2570 groundG1093, and yielded fruitG2590, growingG837 up and increasingG837; and broughtG5342 forth, thirtyfold, and sixtyfold, and a hundredfoldG1540. 9And he saidG3004, Who hath earsG3775 to hearG191, let him hearG191.
10And whenG3753 he was aloneG3441, they that were about him with the twelveG1427 askedG2065 of him the parablesG3850. 11And he saidG3004 unto them, Unto you is givenG1325 the mysteryG3466 of the kingdomG932 of GodG2316: but unto them that are without, all thingsG3956 are done in parablesG3850: 12that seeingG3708 they may seeG3708, and not perceive; and hearingG191 they may hearG191, and not understandG4920; lestG3361 haply they should turnG1994 again, and it should be forgivenG863 them. 13And he saith unto them, KnowG1097 ye not this parableG3850? and howG4459 shall ye knowG1097 all the parablesG3850? 14The sower soweth the wordG3056. 15And these areG1510 they by the wayG3598 side, whereG3699 the wordG3056 isG1510 sownG4687; and whenG3752 they have heardG191, straightway cometh SatanG4567, and taketh awayG142 the wordG3056 which hath beenG1510 sownG4687 in them. 16And these in like manner areG1510 they that areG1510 sownG4687 upon the rockyG4075 places, who, whenG3752 they have heardG191 the wordG3056, straightway receiveG2983 it with joyG5479; 17and they have no rootG4491 in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulationG2347 or persecutionG1375 ariseth because of the wordG3056, straightway they stumbleG4624. 18And othersG243 areG1510 they that areG1510 sownG4687 among the thornsG173; these areG1510 they that have heardG191 the wordG3056, 19and the caresG3308 of the world, and the deceitfulness of richesG4149, and the lustsG1939 of otherG3062 thingsG3062 enteringG1531 in, chokeG4846 the wordG3056, and it becometh unfruitfulG175. 20And those areG1510 they that wereG1510 sownG4687 upon the goodG2570 groundG1093; such as hearG191 the wordG3056, and accept it, and bear fruitG2592, thirtyfold, and sixtyfold, and a hundredfoldG1540.
21And he saidG3004 unto them, Is the lampG3088 brought to be putG5087 under the bushel, or under the bedG2825, and not to be putG5087 on the stand? 22For there isG1510 nothing hid, save that it should beG1510 manifestedG5319; neither wasG1510 anythingG5100 made secretG2927, but that it should comeG2064 to lightG5318. 23If any man hath earsG3775 to hearG191, let him hearG191. 24And he saidG3004 unto them, TakeG991 heedG991 what ye hearG191: with what measureG3354 ye mete it shall be measuredG3354 unto you; and more shall be given unto you. 25For he that hath, to him shall be givenG1325: and he that hath not, from him shall be takenG142 awayG142 evenG2532 that which he hath.
26And he saidG3004, So isG1510 the kingdomG932 of GodG2316, as if a manG444 should castG906 seedG4703 upon the earthG1093; 27and should sleepG2518 and riseG1453 nightG3571 and dayG2250, and the seedG4703 should spring up and grow, he knoweth not howG5613. 28The earthG1093 beareth fruitG2592 of herself; firstG4413 the blade, thenG1534 the ear, thenG1534 the fullG4134 grainG4621 in the ear. 29But whenG3752 the fruitG2590 is ripe, straightway he putteth forthG649 the sickleG1407, because the harvestG2326 is come.
30And he saidG3004, HowG4459 shall we liken the kingdomG932 of GodG2316? or in what parableG3850 shall we setG5087 it forth? 31It isG1510 like a grainG2848 of mustardG4615 seedG4690, which, whenG3752 it isG1510 sownG4687 upon the earthG1093, though it beG1510 less than all the seedsG4690 that areG1510 upon the earthG1093, 32yet whenG3752 it is sownG4687, groweth up, and becometh greaterG3173 than all the herbs, and putteth out greatG3173 branchesG2798; so that the birdsG4071 of the heavenG3772 can lodge under the shadowG4639 thereof.
33And with manyG4183 suchG5108 parablesG3850 spake he the wordG3056 unto them, as they were ableG1410 to hearG191 it; 34and without a parableG3850 spake he not unto them: but privately to his ownG2398 disciplesG3101 he expounded all thingsG3956.
35And on that dayG2250, when evenG2532 was comeG1096, he saith unto them, Let us goG1330 over unto the otherG4008 sideG4008. 36And leavingG863 the multitudeG3793, they takeG3880 him with them, evenG2532 as he wasG1510, in the boatG4143. And otherG243 boatsG4143 wereG1510 with him. 37And there ariseth a greatG3173 stormG2978 of windG417, and the waves beat into the boatG4143, insomuch that the boatG4143 was now fillingG1072. 38And he himself wasG1510 in the sternG4403, asleep on the cushion: and they awake him, and sayG3004 unto him, TeacherG1320, carest thou not that we perishG622? 39And he awoke, and rebukedG2008 the windG417, and saidG3004 unto the seaG2281, Peace, be still. And the windG417 ceased, and there was a greatG3173 calmG1055. 40And he saidG3004 unto them, WhyG5101 areG1510 ye fearful? have ye not yet faithG4102? 41And they fearedG5399 exceedingly, and saidG3004 oneG240 to another, Who then isG1510 this, that evenG2532 the windG417 and the seaG2281 obeyG5219 him?
