Isaiah 54

Darby Bible

1Exult, thou barrenH6135, that didst not bearH3205; breakH6476 forthH3205 into singing, and shoutH7442 for joyH7442, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolateH8074 than the children of the marriedH1166 wife, saith Jehovah. 2EnlargeH7337 the placeH4725 of thy tentH168, and let them stretchH5186 forth the curtainsH3407 of thy habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cordsH4340, and strengthenH2388 thy stakes. 3For thou shalt spreadH6555 abroad on the rightH3225 handH3225 and on the left; and thy seedH2233 shall possessH3423 nationsH1471, and they shall makeH8074 desolateH8074 citiesH5892 to be inhabitedH3427. 4FearH3372 not, for thou shalt not be ashamedH954; neither be thou confounded, for thou shalt not be putH954 to shameH954: for thou shalt forgetH7911 the shameH954 of thy youthH5934, and shalt not rememberH2142 the reproachH2781 of thy widowhoodH491 any more. 5For thy Maker is thy husbandH1166: Jehovah of hostsH6635 is his nameH8034, and thy RedeemerH1350, the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478: the 1GodH430 of the whole earthH776 shall he be calledH7121. 6For Jehovah hath calledH7121 thee as a womanH802 forsaken and grieved in spiritH7307, and as a wifeH802 of youthH5271, that hath been refused, saith thy 2GodH430. 7For a smallH6996 momentH7281 have I forsaken thee; but with greatH1419 mercies will I gatherH6908 thee. 8In the outpouring of wrathH7110 have I hidH5641 my faceH6440 from thee for a momentH7281; but with everlasting loving-kindness will I have mercyH7355 on thee, saith Jehovah, thy RedeemerH1350. 9For this is [as] the watersH4325 of NoahH5146 unto me, since I have swornH7650 that the watersH4325 of NoahH5146 should no more go over the earthH776: soH3651 have I swornH7650 that I will no more be wroth with thee, nor rebukeH1605 thee. 10For the mountainsH2022 shall departH4185, and the hillsH1389 be removedH4185; but my loving-kindness shall not departH4185 from thee, neither shall my covenantH1285 of peaceH7965 be removedH4185, saith Jehovah, that hath mercyH7355 on thee. 11[Thou] afflictedH6041, tossed with tempest, not comfortedH5162! Behold, I will set thy stonesH68 in antimonyH6320, and lay thy foundations with sapphiresH5601; 12and I will makeH7760 thy battlements of rubiesH3539, and thy gatesH8179 of carbuncles, and all thy bordersH1366 of precious stonesH68. 13And all thy children [shall be] taught of Jehovah, and greatH7227 shall be the peaceH7965 of thy children. 14In righteousnessH6666 shalt thou be establishedH3559: thou shalt be farH7368 from oppressionH6233, for thou shalt not fearH3372; and from terrorH4288, for it shall not come near thee. 15Behold, they shall surely gather together, [but] not by me: whosoever gathereth together against thee shall fallH5307 because of thee. 16Behold, it is I who have createdH1254 the smith that bloweth in the fireH784 of coal, and that bringeth forthH3318 an instrument for his workH4639; and I have createdH1254 the destroyerH7843 to ravage. 17No weaponH3627 that is prepared against thee shall prosperH6743; and every tongueH3956 that riseth against thee in judgmentH4941, thou shalt condemnH7561. This is the inheritanceH5159 of the servantsH5650 of Jehovah; and their righteousnessH6666 is of me, saith Jehovah.
