Isaiah 27

Darby Bible

1In that dayH3117 Jehovah, with his sore and greatH1419 and strongH2389 swordH2719, will visitH6485 leviathanH3882 the fleeingH1281 serpent, and leviathanH3882 the crooked serpent; and he will slayH2026 the monsterH8577 that is in the seaH3220. 2In that dayH3117 [there shall be] a vineyardH3754 of pure wine; singH6030 concerning it: 3I Jehovah keepH5341 it, I will waterH8248 it every momentH7281; lestH6435 any harm it, I will keepH5341 it nightH3915 and dayH3117. 4Fury is not in me. Oh that I had briars [and] thorns in battleH4421 against me! I would march against them, I would burn them togetherH3162. 5Or let him takeH2388 holdH2388 of my strength; let him makeH6213 peaceH7965 with me: [yea,] let him makeH6213 peaceH7965 with me. 6In the future JacobH3290 shall take rootH8327; IsraelH3478 shall blossom and budH6524, and they shall fillH4390 the faceH6440 of the worldH8398 with fruitH8570. 7Hath he smitten him according to the smiting of those that smote him? Is he slainH2026 according to the slaughterH4347 of those slainH2026 by him? 8In measure, when sendingH7971 her awayH7971, didst thou contendH7378 with her: he hath taken [her] awayH7971 with his rough windH7307 in the dayH3117 of the eastH6921 windH7307. 9By this, thereforeH3651, shall the iniquityH5771 of JacobH3290 be purged; and this is all the fruitH6529 of the taking awayH5493 of his sinH2403: when he shall makeH7760 all the stonesH68 of the altarH4196 as chalkstones that are crumbled in pieces, — the Asherahs and the sun-images shall not standH6965. 10For the fortifiedH1219 cityH5892 is solitary, a habitation abandonedH5800 and forsaken like a wildernessH4057; there shall the calfH5695 feedH7462, and there shall he lieH7257 down, and consume its boughs. 11When its branches are witheredH3001 they shall be brokenH7665 off; womenH802 shall comeH935 [and] set them on fire. For it is a peopleH5971 of no intelligence; thereforeH3651 he that madeH6213 them will not have mercyH7355 on them, and he who formedH3335 them will shew them no favour. 12And it shall come to pass in that dayH3117, that Jehovah shall beatH2251 out from the flood of the riverH5104 unto the torrent of EgyptH4714, and ye shall beH1961 gatheredH3950 oneH259 by oneH259, [ye] children of IsraelH3478. 13And it shall comeH935 to pass in that dayH3117, [that] the greatH1419 trumpetH7782 shall beH1961 blownH8628; and they shall comeH935 that wereH1961 perishingH6 in the landH776 of AssyriaH804, and the outcastsH5080 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and they shall worship Jehovah in the holyH6944 mountainH2022 at JerusalemH3389.
