Isaiah 50
Darby Bible
1ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: WhereH834 is the bill of your mother's divorce, whom I have put awayH7971? or which of my creditorsH5383 is it to whom I have soldH4376 you? Behold, through your iniquitiesH5771 have ye soldH4376 yourselves, and for your transgressionsH6588 is your motherH517 put awayH7971. 2Wherefore did I comeH935, and there was no manH376? I calledH7121, and there was none to answerH6030? Is my handH3027 at all shortened that I cannot redeem, or have I no power to deliverH5337? behold, at my rebukeH1606 I dryH2717 up the seaH3220, I makeH7760 riversH5104 a wildernessH4057; their fishH1710 stinkH887 because there is no waterH4325, and dieH4191 for thirstH6772. 3I clotheH3847 the heavensH8064 with blackness, and I makeH7760 sackclothH8242 their coveringH3682. 4The LordH136 Jehovah hath givenH5414 me the tongueH3956 of the instructed, that I should knowH3045 how to succour by a wordH1697 him that is wearyH3287. He wakeneth morningH1242 by morningH1242, he wakeneth mine earH241 to hearH8085 as the instructed. 5The LordH136 Jehovah hath openedH6605 mine earH241, and I was not rebelliousH4784; I turnedH5472 not away backH268. 6I gaveH5414 my back to smiters, and my cheeksH3895 to them that plucked off the hair; I hidH5641 not my faceH6440 from shame and spitting. 7But the LordH136 Jehovah will helpH5826 me: thereforeH3651 shall I not be confounded; thereforeH3651 have I setH7760 my faceH6440 like a flintH2496, and I knowH3045 that I shall not be ashamedH954. 8He is near that justifieth me: who will contendH7378 with me? let us standH5975 togetherH3162; who is mine adverse party? let him drawH5066 near unto me. 9Behold, the LordH136 Jehovah will helpH5826 me; who is he that shall condemnH7561 me? Behold, they all shall grow old as a garmentH899; the mothH6211 shall eatH398 them up. 10Who is among you that feareth Jehovah, that hearkeneth to the voiceH6963 of his servantH5650? he that walketh in darknessH2825, and hath no light, — let him confide in the nameH8034 of Jehovah, and stay himself upon his 1GodH430. 11Behold, all ye that kindle a fireH784, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fireH784, and among the sparks [that] ye have kindled. This shall ye have of my handH3027: ye shall lieH7901 down in sorrow.
