Isaiah 19
Darby Bible
1The burdenH4853 of EgyptH4714. Behold, Jehovah rideth upon a swiftH7031 cloudH5645, and cometh to EgyptH4714; and the idolsH457 of EgyptH4714 are moved at his presenceH6440, and the heartH3824 of EgyptH4714 melteth in the midstH7130 of it. 2And I will incite the Egyptians against the Egyptians; and they shall fightH3898 every oneH376 against his brotherH251, and every oneH376 against his neighbour; cityH5892 against cityH5892, kingdomH4467 against kingdomH4467. 3And the spiritH7307 of EgyptH4714 shall fail in the midstH7130 of it, and I will destroy the counselH6098 thereof; and they shall seekH1875 unto the idolsH457 and unto the conjurers, and unto the necromancers, and unto the soothsayers. 4And the Egyptians will I give over into the handH3027 of a cruel lord, and a fierceH5794 kingH4428 shall ruleH4910 over them, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hostsH6635. 5And the watersH4325 shall fail from the seaH3220, and the riverH5104 shall be wasted and driedH3001 up; 6and the riversH5104 shall stink, and the streams of EgyptH4693 shall be diminished and drain away: the reedsH7070 and sedges shall wither. 7The meadows by the Nile, on the banks of the Nile, and everythingH3605 sown by the Nile, shall be driedH3001 up, be drivenH5086 away, and be no [more]. 8And the fishers shall mournH56, and all they that castH7993 fish-hook into the Nile shall lamentH578, and they that spreadH6566 net upon the watersH4325 shall languishH535. 9And they that workH5647 in fine flaxH6593, and they that weaveH707 white stuffs shall be ashamedH954. 10And her pillars shall beH1961 broken in pieces, and all workers for hire shall beH1961 sad of soulH5315. 11They are but foolsH191, the princesH8269 of ZoanH6814, the wiseH2450 counsellors of PharaohH6547: [their] counselH6098 is become senseless. HowH349 sayH559 ye unto PharaohH6547, I am the sonH1121 of the wiseH2450, the sonH1121 of ancient kingsH4428? 12WhereH335 are they thenH645, thy wiseH2450 [men]? Let them now tellH5046 thee, and let them makeH3045 knownH3045 what Jehovah of hostsH6635 hath purposed upon EgyptH4714. 13The princesH8269 of ZoanH6814 are becomeH2973 foolish, the princesH8269 of Noph are deceived; and the corner-stones of its tribesH7626 have caused EgyptH4714 to errH8582. 14Jehovah hath mingled a spiritH7307 of perverseness in the midstH7130 thereof; and they have caused EgyptH4714 to errH8582 in every workH4639 thereof, as a drunkardH7910 staggereth in his vomitH6892. 15Neither shall there beH1961 any workH4639 for EgyptH4714, which the headH7218 or tailH2180, palm-branch or rush, may do. 16In that dayH3117 shall EgyptH4714 beH1961 like unto womenH802; and it shall trembleH2729 and fearH6342 because of the shaking of the handH3027 of Jehovah of hostsH6635, which he shaketh over it. 17And the landH127 of JudahH3063 shall beH1961 a dismay unto EgyptH4714: every one that thinketh of it shall beH1961 afraidH6342 for himself, because of the counselH6098 of Jehovah of hostsH6635, which he hath purposed against it. 18In that dayH3117 shall there beH1961 fiveH2568 citiesH5892 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 speakingH1696 the languageH8193 of CanaanH3667, and swearingH7650 by Jehovah of hostsH6635: oneH259 shall beH1961 called, The cityH5892 of Heres. 19In that dayH3117 shall there beH1961 an altarH4196 to Jehovah in the midstH8432 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and a pillarH4676 at the borderH1366 thereof to Jehovah: 20and it shall beH1961 for a signH226 and for a witnessH5707 to Jehovah of hostsH6635 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714; for they shall cryH6817 unto Jehovah because of the oppressors, and he will sendH7971 them a saviour and defender, who shall deliverH5337 them. 21And Jehovah shall be knownH3045 to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall knowH3045 Jehovah in that dayH3117, and shall serveH5647 with sacrificeH2077 and oblation; and they shall vowH5088 a vowH5088 unto Jehovah, and perform it. 22And Jehovah will smite EgyptH4714; he will smite and healH7495: and they shall returnH7725 to Jehovah, and he will be entreatedH6279 of them, and will healH7495 them. 23In that dayH3117 shall there beH1961 a highwayH4546 out of EgyptH4714 to AssyriaH804; and the Assyrian shall comeH935 into EgyptH4714, and the Egyptian into AssyriaH804; and EgyptH4714 shall serveH5647 with AssyriaH804. 24In that dayH3117 shall IsraelH3478 beH1961 the thirdH7992 with EgyptH4714 and with AssyriaH804, a blessingH1293 in the midstH7130 of the earthH776; 25whom Jehovah of hostsH6635 will blessH1288, sayingH559, BlessedH1288 be EgyptH4714 my peopleH5971, and AssyriaH804 the workH4639 of my handsH3027, and IsraelH3478 mine inheritanceH5159!
