Isaiah 66
Darby Bible
1ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: The heavensH8064 are my throneH3678, and the earthH776 is my footstool: what is the houseH1004 that ye will buildH1129 unto me? and what is the placeH4725 of my restH4496? 2Even all these thingsH1697 hath my handH3027 madeH6213, and all these thingsH1697 have beenH1961, saith Jehovah. But to this man will I lookH5027: to the afflictedH6041 and contrite in spiritH7307, and who trembleth at my wordH1697. 3He that slaughtereth an oxH7794, smiteth a manH376; he that sacrificeth a lambH7716, breaketh a dog's neckH6202; he that offereth an oblation, [it is as] swine's bloodH1818; he that presenteth a memorial of incense, [is as] he that blesseth an idol. As they have chosenH977 their own waysH1870, and their soulH5315 delighteth in their abominationsH8251, 4I alsoH1571 will chooseH977 their calamities, and will bringH935 their fears upon them; because I calledH7121, and none answeredH6030, I spokeH1696, and they did not hearH8085, but did that which was evilH7451 in mine eyesH5869, and choseH977 that wherein I delightH2654 not. 5HearH8085 the wordH1697 of Jehovah, ye that tremble at his wordH1697: Your brethren that hatedH8130 you, that cast you out for my name's sakeH4616, saidH559, Let Jehovah be glorifiedH3513, and let us seeH7200 your joyH8057! but they shall be ashamedH954. 6A voiceH6963 of tumult from the cityH5892, a voiceH6963 from the templeH1964, a voiceH6963 of Jehovah that rendereth recompence to his enemiesH341! 7Before she travailed, she broughtH935 forthH3205; before her pain cameH935, she was deliveredH4422 of a man-child. 8Who hath heardH8085 such a thing? who hath seenH7200 such thingsH428? Can a landH776 be madeH8085 to bringH3205 forthH3205 in oneH259 dayH3117? shall a nationH1471 be bornH3205 at once? For as soon as ZionH6726 travailed, she broughtH3205 forthH3205 her sonsH1121. 9Shall I bringH3205 to the birthH3205, and not cause to bringH3205 forthH3205? saith Jehovah; I who cause to bringH3205 forthH3205, shall I shutH6113 [the womb]? saith thy 1GodH430. 10RejoiceH8055 with JerusalemH3389, and be gladH8055 for her, all ye that loveH157 her; rejoiceH8055 for joyH4885 with her, all ye that mournH56 over her: 11because ye shall suckH3243, and be satisfiedH7646 with the breastsH7699 of her consolationsH8575; because ye shall drink out, and be delightedH6026 with the abundance of her gloryH3519. 12For thusH3541 saith Jehovah: Behold, I will extendH5186 peaceH7965 to her like a riverH5104, and the gloryH3519 of the nationsH1471 like an overflowingH7857 torrent; and ye shall suckH3243, ye shall be carriedH5375 upon the sideH6654, and be dandled upon the knees. 13As oneH376 whom his motherH517 comforteth, soH3651 will I comfortH5162 you; and ye shall be comfortedH5162 in JerusalemH3389. 14And ye shall seeH7200 [this], and your heartH3820 shall rejoiceH7797, and your bonesH6106 shall flourish like the grassH1877; and the handH3027 of Jehovah shall be knownH3045 toward his servantsH5650, and he will have indignation toward his enemiesH341. 15For behold, Jehovah will comeH935 with fireH784, and his chariotsH4818 like a whirlwind, to render his angerH639 with fury, and his rebukeH1606 with flamesH3851 of fireH784. 16For by fireH784 and by his swordH2719 will Jehovah enterH8199 into judgmentH8199 with all fleshH1320: and the slainH2491 of Jehovah shall be manyH7231. 17They that sanctifyH6942 themselves, and purifyH2891 themselves in the gardensH1593 behind oneH259 in the midstH8432; that eatH398 swine's fleshH1320, and the abomination, and the mouseH5909, shall perish togetherH3162, saith Jehovah. 18And I, — their worksH4639 and their thoughtsH4284 [are before me]. ...[The time] cometh for the gathering of all nationsH1471 and tonguesH3956; and they shall comeH935, and seeH7200 my gloryH3519. 19And I will setH7760 a signH226 among them, and I will sendH7971 those that escapeH6412 of them unto the nationsH1471, to TarshishH8659, PulH6322, and LudH3865, that drawH4900 the bowH7198; to TubalH8422 and JavanH3120, to the isles afarH7350 off, that have not heardH8085 my fame, neither have seenH7200 my gloryH3519: and they shall declareH5046 my gloryH3519 among the nationsH1471. 20And they shall bringH935 all your brethren out of all the nationsH1471 as an oblation unto Jehovah, upon horsesH5483, and in chariotsH7393, and in covered waggons, and upon mulesH6505, and upon dromedaries, to my holyH6944 mountainH2022, to JerusalemH3389, saith Jehovah, as the children of IsraelH3478 bringH935 an oblation in a cleanH2889 vesselH3627 into the houseH1004 of Jehovah. 21And I will alsoH1571 takeH3947 of them for priestsH3548 [and] for LevitesH3881, saith Jehovah. 22For as the newH2319 heavensH8064 and the newH2319 earthH776 which I will makeH6213 shall remainH5975 before me, saith Jehovah, soH3651 shall your seedH2233 and your nameH8034 remainH5975. 23And it shall comeH935 to pass from newH2320 moonH2320 to newH2320 moonH2320, and from sabbathH7676 to sabbathH7676, all fleshH1320 shall comeH935 to worship before me, saith Jehovah. 24And they shall goH3318 forthH3318, and lookH7200 upon the carcases of the menH376 that have transgressedH6586 against me: for their worm shall not dieH4191, neither shall their fireH784 beH1961 quenchedH3518; and they shall beH1961 an abhorrenceH1860 unto all fleshH1320.
