Isaiah 34
Darby Bible
1Come near, ye nationsH1471, to hearH8085; and hearken, ye peoplesH3816: let the earthH776 hearH8085, and all its fulness; the worldH8398, and all that cometh forth of it. 2For the wrathH2534 of Jehovah is against all the nationsH1471, and [his] fury against all their armiesH6635: he hath devoted them to destruction, he hath delivered them to the slaughterH2874. 3And their slainH2491 shall be castH7993 out, and their stink shall comeH5927 up from their carcases, and the mountainsH2022 shall be meltedH4549 with their bloodH1818. 4And all the hostH6635 of the heavensH8064 shall be dissolved, and the heavensH8064 shall be rolledH1556 together as a scrollH5612; and all their hostH6635 shall fade awayH4743, as a leafH5929 fadeth from off the vineH1612, and as the withered [fruit] from the fig-tree. 5For my swordH2719 is bathed in the heavensH8064; behold, it shall comeH3381 down upon EdomH123, and upon the peopleH5971 of my ban, to judgmentH4941. 6The swordH2719 of Jehovah is filledH4390 with bloodH1818, it is made fatH2459 with fatness, with the bloodH1818 of lambsH3733 and goatsH6260, with the fatH2459 of the kidneysH3629 of ramsH352; for Jehovah hath a sacrificeH2077 in BozrahH1224, and a greatH1419 slaughterH2874 in the landH776 of EdomH123. 7And the buffaloes shall comeH3381 down with them, and the bullocks with the bullsH6499; and their landH776 shall be soaked with bloodH1818, and their dustH6083 made fatH2459 with fatness. 8For it is the dayH3117 of Jehovah's vengeanceH5359, the yearH8141 of recompenses for the controversy of ZionH6726. 9And the torrents thereof shall beH1961 turnedH2015 into pitchH2203, and its dustH6083 into brimstone; yea, the landH776 thereof shall becomeH1961 burningH1197 pitchH2203: 10it shall not be quenchedH3518 nightH3915 nor dayH3119; the smokeH6227 thereof shall goH5927 up for everH5769: from generationH1755 to generationH1755 it shall lie waste; none shall passH5674 through it for everH5769 and everH5769. 11And the pelican and the bittern shall possessH3423 it, and the greatH3244 owlH3244 and the ravenH6158 shall dwellH7931 in it. And he shall stretchH5186 out upon it the line of waste, and the plummets of emptinessH922. 12Of her nobles who should proclaimH7121 the kingdom, none are there; and all her princesH8269 shall beH1961 nought. 13And thornsH2336 shall come up in her palaces, nettlesH7057 and brambles in her fortressesH759; and it shall beH1961 a dwelling-place of wild dogs, a court for ostrichesH3284. 14And there shall the beasts of the desert meetH6298 with the jackals, and the wild goatH8163 shall cry to his fellow; the lilith also shall settle there, and findH4672 for herself a placeH4494 of restH4494. 15There shall the arrow-snake make her nestH7077, and lay, and hatchH1234, and gatherH6908 under her shadowH6738; there also shall the vultures be gatheredH6908 one with another. 16SearchH1875 ye in the bookH5612 of Jehovah and readH7121: not oneH259 of these shall fail, oneH259 shall not have to seekH1875 for the other; for my mouthH6310, it hath commandedH6680, and his SpiritH7307, it hath gatheredH6908 them. 17For he himself hath castH5307 the lotH1486 for them, and his handH3027 hath dividedH2505 it unto them with the line: they shall possessH3423 it for everH5769; from generationH1755 to generationH1755 shall they dwellH7931 therein.
