Isaiah 45
Darby Bible
1ThusH3541 saith Jehovah to his anointedH4899, to CyrusH3566, whose rightH3225 handH3225 I have holden, to subdue nationsH1471 before him — and I will loose the loinsH4975 of kingsH4428; to open before him the two-leaved doorsH1817, and the gatesH8179 shall not be shutH5462: 2I will go before thee, and makeH3474 the elevated places plain; I will breakH7665 in pieces the brazen doorsH1817, and cutH1438 asunder the barsH1280 of ironH1270; 3and I will giveH5414 thee the treasuresH214 of darknessH2822, and hidden riches of secretH4565 placesH4565; that thou mayest knowH3045 that I, Jehovah, who callH7121 thee by nameH8034, [am] the 1GodH430 of IsraelH3478. 4For JacobH3290 my servant's sakeH4616, and IsraelH3478 mine elect, I have calledH7121 thee by thy nameH8034; I surnamed thee, though thou didst not knowH3045 me; 5I [am] Jehovah, and there is none else; there is no 2GodH430 beside me: I girdedH247 thee, and thou hast not knownH3045 me; 6— that they may knowH3045 from the rising of the sunH8121, and from the going down, that there is none beside me. I [am] Jehovah, and there is none else; 7formingH3335 the lightH216 and creating darknessH2822, makingH6213 peaceH7965 and creating evilH7451: I, Jehovah, do all these thingsH428. 8Drop down, [ye] heavensH8064, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousnessH6666; let the earthH776 openH6605, and let them bring forth salvationH3468, and with it let righteousnessH6666 springH6779 up. I, Jehovah, have createdH1254 it. 9WoeH1945 unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let a potsherdH2789 [strive] with the potsherdsH2789 of the earthH127. Shall the clay sayH559 to him that formeth it, What makest thou? Or thy workH6467, He hath no handsH3027? 10WoeH1945 unto him that saith unto [his] fatherH1, What begettest thou? Or to [his] mother, What hast thou broughtH3205 forthH3205? 11ThusH3541 saith Jehovah, the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478, and his Maker: AskH7592 me of the thingsH857 to comeH857; concerning my sonsH1121, and concerning the workH6467 of my handsH3027, commandH6680 ye me. 12It is I that have madeH6213 the earthH776, and createdH1254 manH120 upon it; it is I, my handsH3027, that have stretchedH5186 out the heavensH8064, and all their hostH6635 have I commandedH6680. 13It is I that have raised him up in righteousnessH6664, and I will makeH3474 all his waysH1870 straightH3474: he shall buildH1129 my cityH5892, and he shall let goH7971 my captives, not for priceH4242 nor reward, saith Jehovah of hostsH6635. 14ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: The wealth of EgyptH4714, and the merchandise of Ethiopia and the SabeansH5436, menH376 of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall beH1961 thine: they shall walk after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall bowH7812 downH7812 unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, [sayingH559,] SurelyH389 3GodH430 is in thee; and there is none else, no other 4GodH430. ... 15Verily thou art a 5GodH430 that hidest thyself, O 6GodH430 of IsraelH3478, the Saviour. ... 16They shall be ashamedH954, and alsoH1571 confounded, all of them; they shall goH1980 away in confusion togetherH3162, the makers of idols. 17IsraelH3478 shall be savedH3467 by Jehovah with an everlasting salvationH8668: ye shall not be ashamedH954 nor confounded, unto the ages of ages. 18For thusH3541 saith Jehovah who createdH1254 the heavensH8064, 7GodH430 himself who formedH3335 the earthH776 and madeH6213 it, he who establishedH3559 it, — not as waste did he createH1254 it: he formedH3335 it to be inhabitedH3427: — I [am] Jehovah, and there is none else. 19I have not spokenH1696 in secret, in a dark placeH4725 of the earthH776; I saidH559 not unto the seedH2233 of JacobH3290, SeekH1245 me in vain: I [am] Jehovah, speakingH1696 righteousnessH6664, declaringH5046 things which are right. 20GatherH6908 yourselves and comeH935; drawH5066 near togetherH3162, ye that are escaped of the nationsH1471. They have no knowledge that carryH5375 the woodH6086 of their graven imageH6459, and prayH6419 unto a 8godH410 that cannot saveH3467. 21DeclareH5046 and bringH5066 [them] near; yea, let them takeH3289 counselH3289 togetherH3162: who hath caused this to be heardH8085 from ancient time? [who] hath declaredH5046 it long ago? Is it not I, Jehovah? And there is no 9GodH430 else beside me; a just 10GodH430 and a Saviour, there is none besides me. 22Look unto me, and be ye savedH3467, all the endsH657 of the earthH776: for I [am] 11GodH410, and there is none else. 23I have swornH7650 by myself, the wordH1697 is goneH3318 out of my mouthH6310 [in] righteousnessH6666 and shall not returnH7725, that unto me every knee shall bowH3766, every tongueH3956 shall swearH7650. 24OnlyH389 in Jehovah, shall one sayH559, have I righteousnessH6666 and strengthH5797. To him shall [men] comeH935; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamedH954. 25In Jehovah shall all the seedH2233 of IsraelH3478 be justifiedH6663, and shall glory.
