Isaiah 54
Revised Version 1895
1SingH7442, O barrenH6135, thou that didst notH3808 bearH3205; breakH6476 forthH3205 intoH6476 singingH7440, and cryH7440 aloudH7442, thou that didst notH3808 travail with childH1121: for moreH3808 are the childrenH1121 of the desolateH8074 thanH3808 the childrenH1121 of the marriedH1166 wifeH1166, saith the LORDH3068. 2EnlargeH7337 the placeH4725 of thy tentH168, and letH408 them stretchH5186 forth the curtainsH3407 of thine habitations; spareH2820 notH408: lengthenH748 thy cordsH4340, and strengthenH2388 thy stakesH3489. 3For thou shalt spreadH6555 abroadH6555 on the rightH3225 handH3225 and on the leftH8040; and thy seedH2233 shall possessH3423 the nationsH1471, and makeH8074 the desolateH8074 citiesH5892 to be inhabitedH3427. 4FearH3372 notH3808; for thou shalt notH3808 be ashamedH954: neitherH3808 be thou confoundedH2659; for thou shalt notH3808 be putH954 to shameH954: for thou shalt forgetH7911 the shameH954 of thy youthH5934, and the reproachH2781 of thy widowhoodH491 shalt thou rememberH2142 noH3808 moreH5750. 5For thy Maker is thine husbandH1166; the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 is his nameH8034: and the HolyH6918 One of IsraelH3478 is thy redeemerH1350; the GodH430 of the wholeH3605 earthH776 shall he be calledH7121. 6For the LORDH3068 hath calledH7121 thee as a wifeH802 forsaken and grievedH6087 in spiritH7307, evenH3588 a wifeH802 of youthH5271, when sheH3588 is cast off, saith thy GodH430. 7For a smallH6996 momentH7281 have I forsaken thee; but with greatH1419 merciesH7356 will I gatherH6908 thee. 8In overflowing wrathH7110 I hidH5641 my faceH6440 from thee for a momentH7281; but with everlastingH5769 kindnessH2617 will I have mercyH7355 on thee, saith the LORDH3068 thy redeemerH1350. 9For this is as the watersH4325 of NoahH5146 unto meH5921: for as I have swornH7650 that the watersH4325 of NoahH5146 should no moreH5750 goH5674 over the earthH776, soH3651 have I swornH7650 that I would notH3588 be wroth with thee, nor rebukeH1605 thee. 10For the mountainsH2022 shall departH4185, and the hillsH1389 be removedH4185; but my kindnessH2617 shall notH3808 departH4185 from thee, neitherH3808 shall my covenantH1285 of peaceH7965 be removedH4185, saith the LORDH3068 that hath mercyH7355 on thee. 11O thou afflictedH6041, tossed with tempest, and notH3808 comfortedH5162, beholdH2009, I will setH3245 thy stonesH68 in fair colours, and layH3245 thy foundationsH3245 with sapphiresH5601. 12And I will makeH7760 thy pinnacles of rubiesH3539, and thy gatesH8179 of carbuncles, and allH3605 thy borderH1366 of pleasant stonesH68. 13And allH3605 thy childrenH1121 shall be taughtH3928 of the LORDH3068; and greatH7227 shall be the peaceH7965 of thy childrenH1121. 14In righteousnessH6666 shalt thou be establishedH3559: thou shalt be farH7368 from oppressionH6233, for thou shalt notH3808 fearH3372; and from terrorH4288, for it shall notH3808 comeH7126 nearH7126 thee. 15BeholdH2005, they may gather togetherH5921, but notH657 by meH5921: whosoever shall gather togetherH5921 againstH5921 thee shall fallH5307 becauseH5921 of thee. 16BeholdH2005, I have createdH1254 the smithH2796 that bloweth the fireH784 of coalsH6352, and bringeth forthH3318 a weaponH3627 for his workH4639; and I have createdH1254 the waster to destroyH7843. 17NoH3808 weaponH3627 that is formedH3335 againstH5921 thee shall prosperH6743; and everyH3605 tongueH3956 that shall riseH6965 againstH5921 thee in judgmentH4941 thou shalt condemnH7561. This is the heritageH5159 of the servantsH5650 of the LORDH3068, and their righteousnessH6666 which is of meH5921, saith the LORDH3068.
