Isaiah 30:1-7
WoeH1945 to the rebelliousH5637 children, saith Jehovah, who take counselH6098, but not of me, and who makeH6213 leagues, but not by my SpiritH7307, that they may heap sinH2403 upon sinH2403;
who walkH1980 to goH1980 down into EgyptH4714, and have not askedH7592 of my mouthH6310, — to takeH2620 refugeH2620 under the protection of PharaohH6547, and trust in the shadowH6738 of EgyptH4714!
For to you the protection of PharaohH6547 shall beH1961 a shameH1322, and the trust in the shadowH6738 of EgyptH4714 a confusion.
For his princesH8269 wereH1961 at ZoanH6814, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
They were all ashamed of a peopleH5971 [that] did not profitH3276 them, nor were a helpH5828 or profitH3276, but a shameH1322, and alsoH1571 a reproachH2781.
— The burdenH4853 of the beasts of the southH5045: Through a landH776 of troubleH6869 and anguish, whence come the lionessH3833 and lionH3918, the viperH660 and fiery flying serpent, they carryH5375 their riches upon the shouldersH3802 of asses, and their treasuresH214 upon the bunches of camelsH1581, to the peopleH5971 that shall not profitH3276 [them].
For EgyptH4714 shall helpH5826 in vain, and to no purpose; thereforeH3651 have I named her, Arrogance, that doeth nothing.
