Revised Version 1895
Isaiah 30:1-7
1WoeH1945 to the rebelliousH5637 childrenH1121, saith the LORDH3068, that take counselH6098, but notH3808 of meH5921; and that cover with a coveringH4541, but notH3808 of my spiritH7307, that they may addH5595 sinH2403 to sinH2403:
2that walkH1980 to goH1980 downH3381 intoH1980 EgyptH4714, and have notH3808 askedH7592 at my mouthH6310; to strengthen themselves in the strengthH4581 of PharaohH6547, and to trust in the shadowH6738 of EgyptH4714!
3Therefore shall the strengthH4581 of PharaohH6547 be your shameH1322, and the trust in the shadowH6738 of EgyptH4714 your confusion.
4For his princesH8269 are at ZoanH6814, and his ambassadorsH4397 are comeH1961 to HanesH2609.
5They shall allH3605 be ashamed of a peopleH5971 that cannotH3808 profitH3276 them, that are notH3808 an helpH5828 norH3808 profitH3276, but a shameH1322, and also a reproachH2781.
6The burdenH4853 of the beastsH929 of the SouthH5045. ThroughH5921 the landH776 of troubleH6869 and anguishH6869, from whence come the lionessH3833 and the lionH3918, the viperH660 and fiery flying serpent, they carryH5375 their richesH2428 uponH5921 the shouldersH3802 of youngH5895 asses, and their treasuresH214 uponH5921 the bunches of camelsH1581, to a peopleH5971 that shall notH3808 profitH3276 them.
7For EgyptH4714 helpeth in vainH1892, and to no purpose: therefore have I calledH7121 herH7121 RahabH7293 that sitteth still.
