Isaiah 27
Revised Version 1895
1In that dayH3117 the LORDH3068 with his sore and greatH1419 and strongH2389 swordH2719 shall punishH6485 leviathanH3882 the swift serpentH5175, and leviathanH3882 the crooked serpentH5175; and he shall slayH2026 the dragonH8577 that is in the seaH3220. 2In that dayH3117: A vineyardH3754 of wine, singH6030 ye unto it. 3I the LORDH3068 doH589 keepH5341 it; I will waterH8248 it everyH3117 momentH7281: lestH6435 anyH6485 hurt it, I will keepH5341 it nightH3915 and dayH3117. 4FuryH2534 is notH369 in meH5414: would that the briersH7898 and thornsH7898 were againstH4421 meH5414 in battleH4421! I would march upon them, I would burn them togetherH3162. 5Or elseH176 let him takeH2388 holdH2388 of my strengthH2388, that he may makeH6213 peaceH7965 with meH2388; yea, let him makeH6213 peaceH7965 with meH2388. 6In days to comeH935 shall JacobH3290 takeH935 rootH8327; IsraelH3478 shall blossom and budH6524: and they shall fillH4390 the faceH6440 of the worldH8398 with fruitH8570. 7Hath he smittenH5221 him as he smoteH5221 those that smoteH5221 him? or is he slainH2026 according to the slaughterH4347 of them that were slainH2026 by him? 8In measure, when thou sendest herH7971 awayH7971, thou dost contendH7378 with herH7971; he hath removed herH7971 with his rough blastH7307 in the dayH3117 of the eastH6921 windH7307. 9Therefore by this shall the iniquityH5771 of JacobH3290 be purged, and this is allH3605 the fruitH6529 of takingH7760 awayH5493 his sinH2403; when he maketh allH3605 the stonesH68 of the altarH4196 as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, soH3651 that the AsherimH842 and the sun-images shall riseH6965 noH3808 moreH3651. 10For the defenced cityH5892 is solitary, an habitation desertedH5800 and forsaken, like the wildernessH4057: there shall the calfH5695 feedH7462, and there shall he lieH7257 downH7257, and consumeH3615 the branchesH5585 thereof. 11When the boughs thereof are witheredH3001, they shall be brokenH7665 offH5921; the womenH802 shall comeH935, and setH935 them on fireH215: for it is a peopleH5971 of noH3808 understandingH998; therefore he that madeH6213 them will notH3808 have compassionH7355 uponH5921 them, and he that formedH3335 them will shew them noH3808 favour. 12And it shall comeH1961 to passH1961 in that dayH3117, that the LORDH3068 shall beatH2251 off his fruit, from the flood of the RiverH5104 unto the brookH5158 of EgyptH4714, and ye shall be gatheredH3950 one by one, O ye childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. 13And it shall comeH935 to passH935 in that dayH3117, that a greatH1419 trumpetH7782 shall be blownH8628; and they shall comeH935 whichH1931 were ready to perishH6 in the landH776 of AssyriaH804, and they that were outcastsH5080 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714; and they shall worshipH7812 the LORDH3068 in the holyH6944 mountainH2022 at JerusalemH3389.
