Romans 3

Darby Bible

1What thenG3767 [is] the superiority of the JewG2453? or what the profit of circumcisionG4061? 2MuchG4183 every wayG5158: and firstG4413, indeedG1063, that to them were entrustedG4100 the oracles of 1GodG2316. 3For what? if some have not believed, shall their unbeliefG570 make the faithG4102 of 2GodG2316 of none effect? 4Far be the thought: but let 3GodG2316 be trueG227, and every manG444 false; according as it is writtenG1125, So that thou shouldest be justifiedG1344 in thy wordsG3056, and shouldest overcomeG3528 when thou art in judgment. 5But if our unrighteousnessG93 commendG4921 4God's righteousnessG1343, what shall we sayG3004? Is 5GodG2316 unrighteousG94 who inflicts wrathG3709? I speakG3004 accordingG2596 to manG444. 6Far be the thought: since howG4459 shall 6GodG2316 judgeG2919 the worldG2889? 7For if the truthG225 of 7GodG2316, in my lie, has moreG2089 aboundedG4052 to his gloryG1391, whyG5101 yet am I alsoG1161 judgedG2919 as a sinnerG268? 8and not, according as we areG1510 injuriously charged, and according as some affirm that we sayG3004, Let us practise evilG2556 thingsG3739, that goodG18 onesG5100 may comeG2064? whose judgmentG2917 isG1510 just. 9What then? areG1510 we better? No, in no wise: for we have before charged both JewsG2453 and GreeksG1672 with beingG1510 all under sinG266: 10according as it isG1510 writtenG1125, There isG1510 not a righteousG1342 [manG1342], not evenG3761 oneG1520; 11there isG1510 not the [man] that understandsG4920, there isG1510 not oneG3588 that seeks after 8GodG2316. 12All have gone out of the way, they have togetherG260 become unprofitable; there isG1510 not oneG1520 that practises goodness, there isG1510 not so much as oneG1520: 13their throat is an openG455 sepulchre; with their tonguesG1100 they have used deceit; asps' poison [is] under their lipsG5491: 14whose mouthG4750 is fullG1073 of cursing and bitternessG4088; 15swift their feetG4228 to shed bloodG129; 16ruin and misery [are] in their waysG3598, 17and wayG3598 of peaceG1515 they have not knownG1097: 18there isG1510 no fearG5401 of 9GodG2316 before their eyesG3788. 19NowG1161 we know that whatever the thingsG3956 the lawG3551 saysG3004, it speaksG2980 to those under the lawG3551, that every mouthG4750 may be stopped, and all the worldG2889 be under judgment to 10GodG2316. 20Wherefore by worksG2041 of lawG3551 no fleshG4561 shall be justifiedG1344 before him; for by lawG3551 [is] knowledgeG1922 of sinG266. 21But nowG1161 without lawG3551 righteousnessG1343 of 11GodG2316 is manifestedG5319, borne witnessG3140 to by the lawG3551 and the prophetsG4396; 22righteousnessG1343 of 12GodG2316 by faithG4102 of JesusG2424 ChristG5547 towards all, and upon all those who believeG4100: for there isG1510 no difference; 23for all have sinnedG264, and come shortG5302 of the gloryG1391 of 13GodG2316; 24being justifiedG1344 freelyG1432 by his graceG5485 through the redemptionG629 which [is] in ChristG5547 JesusG2424; 25whom 14GodG2316 has set forth a mercy-seat, through faithG4102 in his bloodG129, for [the] shewing forth of his righteousnessG1343, in respect of the passing by the sinsG265 that had taken place before, through the forbearance of 15GodG2316; 26for [the] shewing forth of his righteousnessG1343 in the presentG3568 timeG2540, so that he should beG1510 justG1342, and justifyG1344 him that isG1510 of [the] faithG4102 of JesusG2424. 27WhereG4226 thenG3767 [is] boastingG2746? It has been excluded. By what lawG3551? of worksG2041? Nay, but by lawG3551 of faithG4102; 28for we reckon that a manG444 is justifiedG1344 by faithG4102, without worksG2041 of lawG3551. 29Is [GodG2316] the 16GodG2316 of JewsG2453 onlyG3440? is he not of [the] nationsG1484 alsoG2532? Yea, of nationsG1484 alsoG2532: 30since indeed [it is] oneG1520 17GodG2316 who shall justifyG1344 [the] circumcisionG4061 on the principle of faithG4102, and uncircumcisionG203 by faithG4102. 31Do we thenG3767 make void lawG3551 by faithG4102? Far be the thought: [no,] but we establishG2476 lawG3551.
