Romans 6

Darby Bible

1What thenG3767 shall we sayG3004? Should we continueG1961 in sinG266 that graceG5485 may abound? 2Far be the thought. We who have diedG599 to sinG266, howG4459 shall we stillG2089 liveG2198 in it? 3Are you ignorantG50 that we, as manyG3745 as have been baptised unto ChristG5547 JesusG2424, have been baptised unto his deathG2288? 4We have been buried thereforeG3767 with him by baptismG908 unto deathG2288, in orderG2443 that, evenG2532 as ChristG5547 has been raisedG1453 up from among [the] deadG3498 by the gloryG1391 of the FatherG3962, so we alsoG2532 should walkG4043 in newnessG2538 of lifeG2222. 5For if we areG1510 becomeG1096 identified with [him] in the likenessG3667 of his deathG2288, so alsoG2532 we shall beG1510 of [his] resurrectionG386; 6knowingG1097 this, that our oldG3820 manG444 has been crucified with [him], that the bodyG4983 of sinG266 might be annulled, that we should noG3371 longerG3371 serveG1398 sinG266. 7For he that has diedG599 is justifiedG1344 from sinG266. 8NowG1161 if we have diedG599 with ChristG5547, we believeG4100 that we shall alsoG2532 liveG4800 with him, 9knowing that ChristG5547 having been raisedG1453 up from among [the] deadG3498 diesG599 no more: deathG2288 has dominion over him no more. 10For in that he has diedG599, he has diedG599 to sinG266 onceG2178 for all; but in that he livesG2198, he livesG2198 to 1GodG2316. 11So alsoG2532 ye, reckon yourselves deadG3498 to sinG266 and aliveG2198 to 2GodG2316 in ChristG5547 JesusG2424. 12Let not sinG266 thereforeG3767 reignG936 in your mortalG2349 bodyG4983 to obeyG5219 its lustsG1939. 13Neither yield your membersG3196 instrumentsG3696 of unrighteousnessG93 to sinG266, but yield yourselves to 3GodG2316 as aliveG2198 from among [the] deadG3498, and your membersG3196 instrumentsG3696 of righteousnessG1343 to 4GodG2316. 14For sinG266 shall not have dominion over you, for ye areG1510 not under lawG3551 but under graceG5485. 15What thenG3767? should we sinG264 because we areG1510 not under lawG3551 but under graceG5485? Far beG1510 the thought. 16Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves bondmen for obedienceG5218, ye areG1510 bondmen to him whom ye obeyG5219, whether of sinG266 unto deathG2288, or of obedienceG5218 unto righteousnessG1343? 17But thanksG5485 [beG1510] to 5GodG2316, that ye wereG1510 bondmen of sinG266, but have obeyedG5219 from the heartG2588 the form of teachingG1322 into which ye wereG1510 instructed. 18NowG1161, having got your freedom from sinG266, ye have become bondmen to righteousnessG1343. 19I speakG3004 humanly on accountG1223 of the weaknessG769 of your fleshG4561. For evenG2532 as ye have yielded your membersG3196 in bondage to uncleanness and to lawlessnessG458 unto lawlessnessG458, so nowG3568 yield your membersG3196 in bondage to righteousnessG1343 unto holinessG38. 20For whenG3753 ye wereG1510 bondmen of sinG266 ye wereG1510 freeG1658 from righteousnessG1343. 21What fruitG2590 thereforeG3767 had ye thenG5119 in the thingsG3739 of which ye are nowG3568 ashamedG1870? for the endG5056 of them [is] deathG2288. 22But nowG1161, having got your freedom from sinG266, and having become bondmen to 6GodG2316, ye have your fruitG2590 unto holinessG38, and the endG5056 eternalG166 lifeG2222. 23For the wages of sinG266 [is] deathG2288; but the act of favour of 7GodG2316, eternalG166 lifeG2222 in ChristG5547 JesusG2424 our LordG2962.
