Romans 3
1What advantage thenG3767 hath the JewG2453? or what is the profit of circumcisionG4061? 2MuchG4183 every wayG5158: firstG4413 of all, that they were intrusted with the oracles of GodG2316. 3For what if some were without faithG4102? shall their want of faithG4102 make of none effect the faithfulnessG4102 of GodG2316? 4GodG2316 forbid: yea, let GodG2316 be found trueG227, but every manG444 a liarG5583; as it is writtenG1125,
5But if our unrighteousnessG93 commendeth the righteousnessG1343 of GodG2316, what shall we sayG3004? Is GodG2316 unrighteousG94 who visiteth with wrathG3709? (I speakG3004 after the manner of menG444.) 6GodG2316 forbid: for then howG4459 shall GodG2316 judgeG2919 the worldG2889? 7But if the truthG225 of GodG2316 through my lie aboundedG4052 unto his gloryG1391, whyG5101 am I alsoG1161 stillG2089 judgedG2919 as a sinnerG268? 8and why not (as we areG1510 slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we sayG3004), Let us do evilG2556, that goodG18 may comeG2064? whose condemnationG2917 isG1510 just.
9What then? areG1510 we better than they? No, in no wise: for we before laid to the charge both of JewsG2453 and GreeksG1672, that they areG1510 all under sinG266; 10as it isG1510 writtenG1125,
19NowG1161 we know that what thingsG3956 soever the lawG3551 saith, it speaketh to them that are under the lawG3551; that every mouthG4750 may be stopped, and all the worldG2889 may be brought under the judgment of GodG2316: 20because by the worksG2041 of the lawG3551 shall no fleshG4561 be justifiedG1344 in his sight; for through the lawG3551 cometh the knowledgeG1922 of sinG266.
21But nowG1161 apartG5565 from the lawG3551 a righteousnessG1343 of GodG2316 hath been manifestedG5319, being witnessedG3140 by the lawG3551 and the prophetsG4396; 22even the righteousnessG1343 of GodG2316 through faithG4102 in JesusG2424 ChristG5547 unto all them that believeG4100; for there isG1510 no distinctionG1293; 23for all have sinnedG264, and fall shortG5302 of the gloryG1391 of GodG2316; 24being justifiedG1344 freelyG1432 by his graceG5485 through the redemptionG629 that is in ChristG5547 JesusG2424: 25whom GodG2316 set forth to be a propitiation, through faithG4102, in his bloodG129, to show his righteousnessG1343 because of the passing over of the sinsG265 done aforetime, in the forbearance of GodG2316; 26for the showing, I say, of his righteousnessG1343 at this presentG3568 seasonG2540: that he might himself beG1510 justG1342, and the justifier of him that hath faithG4102 in JesusG2424. 27WhereG4226 thenG3767 is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of lawG3551? of worksG2041? Nay: but by a lawG3551 of faithG4102. 28We reckon therefore that a manG444 is justifiedG1344 by faithG4102 apartG5565 from the worksG2041 of the lawG3551. 29Or is GodG2316 the GodG2316 of JewsG2453 onlyG3440? is he not the GodG2316 of GentilesG1484 alsoG2532? Yea, of GentilesG1484 alsoG2532: 30if so be that GodG2316 is oneG1520, and he shall justifyG1344 the circumcisionG4061 by faithG4102, and the uncircumcisionG203 through faithG4102.
31Do we thenG3767 make the lawG3551 of none effect through faithG4102? God forbid: nay, we establishG2476 the lawG3551.
