Isaiah 1:21-31
21HowH349 is the faithfulH539 city becomeH1961 a harlot! It wasH1961 fullH4395 of judgmentH4941; righteousnessH6664 used to lodge in it, but nowH6258 murderersH7523. 22Thy silverH3701 is becomeH1961 dross, thy wine is mixed with waterH4325: 23thy princesH8269 are rebelliousH5637, and companionsH2270 of thievesH1590; every one loveth presents, and hunteth after rewards; they judgeH8199 not the fatherlessH3490, and the causeH7379 of the widowH490 cometh not unto them. 24ThereforeH3651 saith the Lord, Jehovah of hostsH6635, the MightyH46 OneH46 of IsraelH3478: Ah! I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avengeH5358 me of mine enemiesH341. 25And I will turnH7725 my handH3027 upon thee, and will thoroughly purge awayH5493 thy dross, and take awayH5493 all thine alloy; 26and I will restoreH7725 thy judgesH8199 as at the firstH7223, and thy counsellors as at the beginning. Afterwards thou shalt be calledH7121, TownH7151 of righteousnessH6664, FaithfulH539 cityH5892. 27ZionH6726 shall be redeemedH6299 with judgmentH4941, and they that returnH7725 of her with righteousnessH6666. 28But the ruinH7667 of the transgressorsH6586 and of the sinnersH2400 [shall be] togetherH3162; and they that forsakeH5800 Jehovah shall be consumed. 29For they shall be ashamedH954 of the terebinths that ye have desiredH2530, and ye shall blush for the gardensH1593 that ye have chosenH977. 30For ye shall beH1961 as a terebinthH424 whose leafH5929 fadeth, and as a gardenH1593 that hath no waterH4325. 31And the strongH2634 shall beH1961 for towH5296, and his workH6467 a spark; and they shall both burnH1197 togetherH3162, and there shall beH1961 none to quenchH3518 [them].
