Isaiah 1:21-31
21HowH351 the faithfulH539 cityH7151 has becomeH1961 a 1harlotH2181, She who was fullH4392 of justiceH4941! RighteousnessH6664 once lodgedH3885 in her, But nowH6258 murderersH7523.22Your silverH3701 has becomeH1961 drossH5509, Your drinkH5435 dilutedH4107 with waterH4325.23Your 2rulersH8269 are rebelsH5637 And companionsH2270 of thievesH1590; EveryoneH3605 3lovesH157 a bribeH7810 And chasesH7291 after rewardsH8021. They 4do not 5defendH8199 the 6orphanH3490, NorH3808 does the widow’sH490 pleaH7379 comeH935 beforeH413 them.
24ThereforeH3651 the LordH136 7GodH3068 of hostsH6635, The 8MightyH46 OneH46 of IsraelH3478, declaresH5002, “AhH1945, I will be relievedH5162 of My adversariesH6862 And 9avengeH5358 Myself on My foesH340.25I will also turnH7725 My handH3027 againstH5921 you, And will 10smeltH6884 away your drossH5509 as with lyeH1253 And will removeH5493 allH3605 your alloyH913.26Then I will restoreH7725 your 11judgesH8199 as at the firstH7223, And your counselorsH3289 as at the beginningH8462; AfterH310 that you will be calledH7121 the 12cityH5892 of righteousnessH6664, A faithfulH539 cityH7151.”
27ZionH6726 will be 13redeemedH6299 with justiceH4941 And her 14repentantH7725 ones with righteousnessH6666.28But 15transgressorsH6586 and sinnersH2400 will be 16crushedH7667 togetherH3164, And those who forsakeH5800 the LordH3068 will comeH3615 to an endH3615.29SurelyH3588 17you will be ashamedH954 of the 1819oaksH352 whichH834 you have desiredH2530, And you will be embarrassedH2659 at the 20gardensH1593 whichH834 you have chosenH977.30For you will be like an 21oakH424 whose 22leafH5929 fadesH5034 awayH5034 Or as a gardenH1593 that hasH369 noH369 waterH4325.31The strongH2634 manH2634 will becomeH1961 tinderH5296, His workH6467 also a sparkH5213. Thus they shall bothH8147 23burnH1197 togetherH3164 And thereH369 will be 24noneH369 to quenchH3518 them.
