Acts 27:1-28
But whenG5613 it had been determined that we should sailG636 to ItalyG2482, they deliveredG3860 up PaulG3972 and certainG5100 otherG2087 prisonersG1202 to a centurionG1543, by nameG3686 JuliusG2457, of Augustus' company.
And going on board a shipG4143 of Adramyttium about to navigate by the placesG5117 along AsiaG773, we setG321 sailG321, AristarchusG708, a MacedonianG3110 of Thessalonica, beingG1510 with us.
And the nextG2087 day we arrived at SidonG4605. And JuliusG2457 treated PaulG3972 kindly and suffered him to goG4198 to his friendsG5384 and refresh himself.
And settingG321 sailG321 thence we sailedG5284 under the lee of CyprusG2954, because the windsG417 wereG1510 contraryG1727.
And having sailed over the waters of CiliciaG2791 and PamphyliaG3828 we cameG2718 to Myra in Lycia:
and there the centurionG1543 having foundG2147 a shipG4143 of Alexandria sailingG4126 to ItalyG2482, he made us go on board her.
And sailing slowly for manyG2425 daysG2250, and having with difficultyG3433 got abreast of Cnidus, the windG417 not suffering us, we sailedG5284 under the lee of CreteG2914 abreast of Salmone;
and coasting it with difficultyG3433 we cameG2064 to a certainG5100 placeG5117 calledG2564 Fair Havens, near to which wasG1510 [the] cityG4172 of Lasaea.
And much timeG5550 having nowG1161 beenG1510 spent, and navigation beingG1510 alreadyG2235 dangerous, because the fast alsoG2532 wasG1510 alreadyG2235 past, PaulG3972 counselled them,
sayingG3004, MenG435, I perceive that the navigation will beG1510 with disasterG5196 and muchG4183 lossG2209, not onlyG3440 of the cargo and the shipG4143, but alsoG2532 of our livesG5590.
But the centurionG1543 believed ratherG3123 the helmsman and the shipowner than what was saidG3004 by PaulG3972.
And the harbour being ill adapted to winterG3914 in, the most counselled to setG321 sailG321 thence, if perhaps they might reach Phoenice to winterG3914 in, a port of CreteG2914 lookingG991 north-east and south-east.
And [the] southG3558 windG3558 blowing gently, supposing that they had gained their object, having weighed anchor they sailed close in shore along CreteG2914.
But not long after there came downG2596 it a hurricane calledG2564 Euroclydon.
And the shipG4143 being caught and driven, and not ableG1410 to bringG5342 her head to the windG417, letting her go we were driven [before it].
But running under the lee of a certainG5100 island calledG2564 Clauda, we were with difficultyG3433 ableG2480 to make ourselves masters of the boat;
which having hoisted up, they usedG5530 helps, frapping the shipG4143; and fearingG5399 lestG3361 they should run into Syrtis and run aground, and having lowered the gear they were soG3779 driven.
But the storm being extremely violent on us, on the nextG1836 dayG1836 they threw cargo overboard,
and on the thirdG5154 day with their own hands they castG4496 away the shipG4143 furniture.
And neither sunG2246 nor starsG798 appearing for manyG4183 daysG2250, and no smallG3641 storm lying on us, in the end all hopeG1680 of our being savedG4982 was taken awayG4014.
And when they had been a long while without taking food, PaulG3972 then standingG2476 up in the midstG3319 of them saidG3004, Ye oughtG1163, O menG435, to have hearkened to me, and not have made sailG321 from CreteG2914 and have gainedG2770 this disasterG5196 and lossG2209.
And nowG3568 I exhort you to beG1510 of good courageG2114, for there shall beG1510 no loss at all of lifeG5590 of [any] of you, only of the shipG4143.
For an angelG32 of the 1GodG2316, whose I amG1510 and whom I serveG3000, stoodG3936 by me this nightG3571,
sayingG3004, FearG5399 not, PaulG3972; thou must standG3936 before CaesarG2541; and beholdG2400, 2GodG2316 has grantedG5483 to thee all those that sailG4126 with thee.
Wherefore beG1510 of good courageG2114, menG435, for I believeG4100 3GodG2316 that thusG3779 it shall beG1510, as it has beenG1510 saidG2980 to me.
But we must be cast ashore on a certainG5100 islandG3520.
And whenG5613 the fourteenth nightG3571 was comeG1096, we being driven about in Adria, towards the middleG3319 of the nightG3571 the sailorsG3492 supposed that some landG5561 neared them,
and having sounded foundG2147 twentyG1501 fathomsG3712, and having gone a littleG1024 farther and having againG3825 sounded they foundG2147 fifteenG1178 fathomsG3712;
