1After these thingsG3778 JesusG2424 wentG565 awayG565 to the otherG4008 sideG4008 of the seaG2281 of GalileeG1056, which isthe seaG2281of TiberiasG5085. 2And a greatG4183 multitudeG3793 followedG190 him, because they beheld the signsG4592 which he did on them that were sickG770. 3And JesusG2424 went up into the mountainG3735, and there he satG2521 with his disciplesG3101. 4NowG1161 the passoverG3957, the feastG1859 of the JewsG2453, wasG1510 at hand. 5JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 liftingG1869 up his eyesG3788, and seeingG2300 that a greatG4183 multitudeG3793 cometh unto him, saith unto PhilipG5376, Whence are we to buyG59 breadG740, that these may eatG2068? 6And this he saidG3004 to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. 7PhilipG5376 answeredG611 him, TwoG1250 hundredG1250 shillings’ worth of breadG740 is not sufficient for them, that every oneG5100 may takeG2983 a littleG1024. 8OneG1520 of his disciplesG3101, AndrewG406, SimonG4613 Peter’s brotherG80, saith unto him, 9There isG1510 a lad hereG5602, who hath fiveG4002 barleyG2916 loavesG740, and twoG1417 fishes: but what areG1510 these among so manyG5118? 10JesusG2424 saidG3004, MakeG4160 the people sit down. So the menG444 sat downG377, in numberG706 about fiveG4000 thousandG4000. 11JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 tookG2983 the loavesG740; and having givenG1325 thanksG2168, he distributed to them that were set down; likewiseG3668 alsoG2532 of the fishes as muchG3745 as they wouldG2309. 12And whenG5613 they were filled, he saith unto his disciplesG3101, GatherG4863 up the broken pieces which remain over, that nothing be lostG622. 13So they gatheredG4863 them up, and filledG1072 twelveG1427 baskets with broken pieces from the fiveG4002 barleyG2916 loavesG740, which remained over unto them that had eaten. 14WhenG2064 thereforeG3767 the people sawG3708 the signG4592 which he did, they saidG3004, This isG1510 of a truth the prophetG4396 that cometh into the worldG2889.

15JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 perceiving that they were about to comeG2064 and take him by force, to makeG4160 him kingG935, withdrew againG3825 into the mountainG3735 himself aloneG3441.

16And whenG5613 eveningG3798 cameG1096, his disciplesG3101 wentG2597 downG2597 unto the seaG2281; 17and they entered into a boatG4143, and were going over the seaG2281 unto CapernaumG2584. And it was nowG1161 darkG4653, and JesusG2424 had not yet comeG2064 to them. 18And the seaG2281 was rising by reason of a greatG3173 windG417 that blewG4154. 19WhenG5613 thereforeG3767 they had rowed about fiveG4002 and twentyG1501 or thirtyG5144 furlongs, they behold JesusG2424 walkingG4043 on the seaG2281, and drawing nigh unto the boatG4143: and they were afraidG5399. 20But he saith unto them, It isG1510 I; beG1510 not afraidG5399. 21They were willingG2309 thereforeG3767 to receiveG2983 him into the boatG4143: and straightway the boatG4143 was at the landG1093 whither they were goingG5217.

41The JewsG2453 thereforeG3767 murmured concerningG4012 him, because he saidG3004, I amG1510 the breadG740 which cameG2597 downG2597 out of heavenG3772. 42And they saidG3004, IsG1510 not this JesusG2424, the sonG5207 of JosephG2501, whose fatherG3962 and motherG3384 we know? howG4459 doth he nowG3568 sayG3004, I amG1510 comeG2597 down out of heavenG3772? 43JesusG2424 answeredG611 and saidG3004 unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. 44No man can comeG2064 to me, except the FatherG3962 that sentG3992 me drawG1670 him: and I will raiseG450 him up in the lastG2078 dayG2250. 45It isG1510 writtenG1125 in the prophetsG4396, And they shall all beG1510 taught of GodG2316. 52The JewsG2453 thereforeG3767 strove oneG240 with another, sayingG3004, HowG4459 can this manG3778 giveG1325 us his fleshG4561 to eatG2068? 53JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 saidG3004 unto them, Verily, verily, I sayG3004 unto you, Except ye eatG2068 the fleshG4561 of the SonG5207 of manG444 and drinkG4095 his bloodG129, ye have not lifeG2222 in yourselves. 54He that eateth my fleshG4561 and drinketh my bloodG129 hath eternalG166 lifeG2222; and I will raiseG450 him up at the lastG2078 dayG2250. 55For my fleshG4561 isG1510 meat indeed, and my bloodG129 isG1510 drinkG4213 indeed. 56He that eateth my fleshG4561 and drinketh my bloodG129 abideth in me, and I in him. 57As the livingG2198 FatherG3962 sentG649 me, and I liveG2198 because of the FatherG3962; so he that eateth me, he alsoG2532 shall liveG2198 because of me. 58This isG1510 the breadG740 which cameG2597 downG2597 out of heavenG3772: not as the fathersG3962 ateG2068, and diedG599; he that eateth this breadG740 shall liveG2198 for ever. 59These thingsG3778 saidG3004 he in the synagogueG4864, as he taughtG1321 in CapernaumG2584.

60ManyG4183 thereforeG3767 of his disciplesG3101, when they heardG191this, saidG3004, This isG1510 a hard sayingG3004; who can hearG191 it? 61But JesusG2424 knowing in himself that his disciplesG3101 murmured at this, saidG3004 unto them, Doth this causeG4624 you to stumbleG4624? 62What thenG3767 if ye should behold the SonG5207 of manG444 ascendingG305 whereG3699 he wasG1510 before? 63It isG1510 the spiritG4151 that giveth lifeG2222; the fleshG4561 profiteth nothing: the words that I have spokenG2980 unto you areG1510 spiritG4151, and areG1510 lifeG2222. 64But there areG1510 some of you that believeG4100 not. For JesusG2424 knew from the beginning who they wereG1510 that believedG4100 not, and who it wasG1510 that should betrayG3860 him. 65And he saidG3004, For this cause have I saidG3004 unto you, that no manG3778 can comeG2064 unto me, except it beG1510 givenG1325 unto him of the FatherG3962.

66Upon this manyG4183 of his disciplesG3101 wentG565 backG3694, and walkedG4043 no moreG4183 with him. 67JesusG2424 saidG3004 thereforeG3767 unto the twelveG1427, WouldG2309 ye alsoG2532 goG5217 awayG5217? 68SimonG4613 PeterG4074 answeredG611 him, LordG2962, to whom shall we goG565? thou hast the words of eternalG166 lifeG2222. 69And we have believedG4100 and knowG1097 that thou art the HolyG40 OneG3588 of GodG2316. 70JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, Did not I choose you the twelveG1427, and oneG1520 of you isG1510 a devilG1228? 71NowG1161 he spake of JudasG2455 the son of SimonG4613 IscariotG2469, for he it wasG1510 that should betrayG3860 him, beingG1510 oneG1520 of the twelveG1427.
