2 Corinthians 1
1PaulG3972, an apostleG652 of ChristG5547 JesusG2424 through the will of GodG2316, and TimothyG5095 our brotherG80, unto the churchG1577 of GodG2316 which isG1510 at CorinthG2882, with all the saintsG40 that areG1510 in the wholeG3650 of AchaiaG882: 2GraceG5485 to you and peaceG1515 from GodG2316 our FatherG3962 and the LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547.
3Blessedbethe GodG2316 and FatherG3962 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547, the FatherG3962 of mercies and GodG2316 of all comfortG3874; 4who comforteth us in all our afflictionG2347, that we may be ableG1410 to comfortG3874 them that are in any afflictionG2347, through the comfortG3874 wherewith we ourselves are comfortedG3870 of GodG2316. 5For as the sufferings of ChristG5547 aboundG4052 unto us, evenG2532 so our comfortG3874 alsoG2532 aboundeth through ChristG5547. 6But whether we are afflicted, it is for your comfortG3874 and salvationG4991; or whether we are comfortedG3870, it is for your comfortG3874, which worketh in the patientG5281 enduring of the sameG846 sufferings which we alsoG2532 sufferG3958: 7and our hopeG1680 for you isG1510 stedfast; knowing that, as ye areG1510 partakersG2844 of the sufferings, so alsoG2532 areG1510 ye of the comfortG3874. 8For we would not have you ignorantG50, brethren, concerningG5228 our afflictionG2347 which befell us in AsiaG773, that we were weighed downG2596 exceedingly, beyond our powerG1411, insomuch that we despaired evenG2532 of life: 9yea, we ourselves have had the sentence of deathG2288 within ourselves, that we should not trustG3982 in ourselves, but in GodG2316 who raiseth the deadG3498: 10who deliveredG4506 us out of so greatG5082 a deathG2288, and will deliverG4506: on whom we have set our hopeG1679 that he will alsoG2532 stillG2089 deliverG4506 us; 11ye alsoG2532 helping together on our behalfG5228 by your supplicationG1162; that, for the giftG5486 bestowed upon us by means of manyG4183, thanksG2168 may be givenG2168 by manyG4183 persons on our behalfG5228.
12For our glorying isG1510 this, the testimonyG3142 of our conscienceG4893, that in holiness and sincerityG1505 of GodG2316, not in fleshlyG4559 wisdomG4678 but in the graceG5485 of GodG2316, we behaved ourselves in the worldG2889, and moreG4056 abundantly to you-ward. 13For we writeG1125 no otherG243 thingsG3739 unto you, than what ye readG314 or evenG2532 acknowledge, and I hopeG1679 ye will acknowledge unto the endG5056: 14as alsoG2532 ye did acknowledge us in partG3313, that we areG1510 your glorying, evenG2532 as ye alsoG2532 areG1510 ours, in the dayG2250 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424.
15And in this confidenceG4006 I was minded to comeG2064 first unto you, that ye might have a secondG1208 benefit; 16and by you to passG1330 into MacedoniaG3109, and againG3825 from MacedoniaG3109 to comeG2064 unto you, and of you to be set forward on my journey unto Judæa. 17When I thereforeG3767 wasG1510 thus minded, did I show fickleness? or the thingsG3778 that I purposeG1011, do I purposeG1011 accordingG2596 to the fleshG4561, that with me there should beG1510 the yea yea and the nay nay? 18But as GodG2316 isG1510 faithfulG4103, our wordG3056 toward you isG1510 not yea and nay. 19For the SonG5207 of GodG2316, JesusG2424 ChristG5547, who was preachedG2784 among you by us, evenG2532 by me and SilvanusG4610 and TimothyG5095, was not yea and nay, but in him is yea. 20For howG3745 manyG3745 soever be the promisesG1860 of GodG2316, in him is the yea: wherefore alsoG2532 through him is the AmenG281, unto the gloryG1391 of GodG2316 through us. 21NowG1161 he that establisheth us with you in ChristG5547, and anointedG5548 us, is GodG2316; 22who alsoG2532 sealedG4972 us, and gaveG1325 us the earnest of the SpiritG4151 in our heartsG2588.
23But I callG1941 GodG2316 for a witnessG3144 upon my soulG5590, that to spareG5339 you I forbare to comeG2064 unto CorinthG2882. 24Not that we have lordship over your faithG4102, but areG1510 helpers of your joyG5479: for in faithG4102 ye standG2476 fast.
