1 Corinthians 1

1PaulG3972, calledG2822to bean apostleG652 of JesusG2424 ChristG5547 through the will of GodG2316, and SosthenesG4988 our brotherG80, 2unto the churchG1577 of GodG2316 which isG1510 at CorinthG2882, evenG2532them that areG1510 sanctifiedG37 in ChristG5547 JesusG2424, calledG1941to beG1510saintsG40, with all that callG1941 upon the nameG3686 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547 in every placeG5117, theirLordG2962and ours: 3GraceG5485 to you and peaceG1515 from GodG2316 our FatherG3962 and the LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547.

4I thankG2168 my GodG2316 alwaysG3842 concerningG4012 you, for the graceG5485 of GodG2316 which was givenG1325 you in ChristG5547 JesusG2424; 5that in everythingG3956 ye were enrichedG4148 in him, in all utterance and all knowledgeG1108; 6even as the testimonyG3142 of ChristG5547 was confirmedG950 in you: 7soG5620 that ye come behind in no giftG5486; waiting for the revelationG602 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547; 8who shall alsoG2532 confirmG950 you unto the endG5056, that ye be unreproveable in the dayG2250 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547. 9GodG2316 is faithfulG4103, through whom ye were calledG2564 into the fellowshipG2842 of his SonG5207 JesusG2424 ChristG5547 our LordG2962.

10NowG1161 I beseech you, brethren, through the nameG3686 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547, that ye all speakG3004 the sameG846 thing, and that there beG1510 no divisionsG4978 among you; but that ye beG1510 perfected together in the sameG846 mindG3563 and in the sameG846 judgmentG1106. 11For it hath beenG1510 signified unto me concerningG4012 you, my brethren, by them that areG1510 of the household of Chloe, that there areG1510 contentions among you. 12NowG1161 this I mean, that each oneG1538 of you saith, I amG1510 of PaulG3972; and I of ApollosG625; and I of CephasG2786; and I of ChristG5547. 13Is ChristG5547 divided? was PaulG3972 crucifiedG4717 for you? or were ye baptizedG907 into the nameG3686 of PaulG3972? 14I thankG2168 God that I baptizedG907 noneG3762 of you, save CrispusG2921 and GaiusG1050; 15lestG3361 any man should sayG3004 that ye were baptizedG907 into my nameG3686. 16And I baptizedG907 alsoG2532 the householdG3624 of StephanasG4734: besides, I know not whether I baptizedG907 any otherG243. 17For ChristG5547 sentG649 me not to baptizeG907, but to preach the gospel: not in wisdomG4678 of wordsG3056, lestG3361 the crossG4716 of ChristG5547 should be made voidG2758.

18For the wordG3056 of the crossG4716 isG1510 to them that perishG622 foolishnessG3472; but unto us who areG1510 savedG4982 it isG1510 the powerG1411 of GodG2316. 19For it is writtenG1125,

I will destroyG622 the wisdomG4678 of the wiseG4680,And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought.

20WhereG4226 is the wiseG4680? whereG4226 is the scribeG1122? whereG4226 is the disputer of this worldG2889? hath not GodG2316 made foolish the wisdomG4678 of the worldG2889? 21For seeing that in the wisdomG4678 of GodG2316 the worldG2889 through its wisdomG4678 knewG1097 not GodG2316, it was God’s good pleasureG2106 through the foolishnessG3472 of the preachingG2782 to saveG4982 them that believeG4100. 22Seeing that JewsG2453 askG154 for signsG4592, and GreeksG1672 seekG2212 after wisdomG4678: 23but we preachG2784 ChristG5547 crucifiedG4717, unto JewsG2453 a stumblingblock, and unto GentilesG1484 foolishnessG3472; 24but unto them that are calledG2822, both JewsG2453 and GreeksG1672, ChristG5547 the powerG1411 of GodG2316, and the wisdomG4678 of GodG2316. 25Because the foolishness of GodG2316 isG1510 wiser than menG444; and the weaknessG772 of GodG2316 isG1510 strongerG2478 than menG444.

26For behold your callingG2821, brethren, that not manyG4183 wiseG4680 after the fleshG4561, not manyG4183 mightyG1415, not manyG4183 noble, are called: 27but GodG2316 chose the foolishG3474 things of the worldG2889, that he might put to shameG2617 them that are wiseG4680; and GodG2316 chose the weakG772 things of the worldG2889, that he might put to shameG2617 the things that are strongG2478; 28and the base things of the worldG2889, and the things that areG1510 despisedG1848, did GodG2316 choose, yea and the things that areG1510 not, that he might bring to nought the things that areG1510: 29that no fleshG4561 should glory before GodG2316. 30But of him areG1510 ye in ChristG5547 JesusG2424, who wasG1510 made unto us wisdomG4678 from GodG2316, and righteousnessG1343 and sanctificationG38, and redemptionG629: 31that, according as it is writtenG1125, He that glorieth, let him glory in the LordG2962.
