John 20
1NowG1161 on the firstG1520dayof the weekG4521 cometh MaryG3137 MagdaleneG3094 earlyG4404, while it wasG1510 yet darkG4653, unto the tombG3419, and seeth the stoneG3037 takenG142 awayG142 from the tombG3419. 2She runneth thereforeG3767, and cometh to SimonG4613 PeterG4074, and to the otherG243 discipleG3101 whom JesusG2424 lovedG5368, and saith unto them, They have takenG142 awayG142 the LordG2962 out of the tombG3419, and we know not whereG4226 they have laidG5087 him. 3PeterG4074 thereforeG3767 wentG1831 forthG1831, and the otherG243 discipleG3101, and they wentG1831 toward the tombG3419. 4And they ranG5143 both togetherG3674: and the otherG243 discipleG3101 outran PeterG4074, and cameG2064 firstG4413 to the tombG3419; 5and stoopingG3879 and lookingG991 in, he seeth the linenG3608 cloths lyingG2749; yet enteredG1525 he not in. 6SimonG4613 PeterG4074 thereforeG3767 alsoG2532 cometh, followingG190 him, and enteredG1525 into the tombG3419; and he beholdeth the linenG3608 cloths lyingG2749, 7and the napkin, that wasG1510 upon his headG2776, not lyingG2749 with the linenG3608 cloths, but rolled up in a placeG5117 by itself. 8Then enteredG1525 in thereforeG3767 the otherG243 discipleG3101 alsoG2532, who cameG2064 firstG4413 to the tombG3419, and he sawG3708, and believedG4100. 9For as yetG3764 they knew not the scriptureG1124, that he must riseG450 againG450 from the deadG3498. 10So the disciplesG3101 wentG565 awayG565 againG3825 unto their ownG1438 home.
11But MaryG3137 was standingG2476 without at the tombG3419 weepingG2799: so, as she weptG2799, she stoopedG3879 and looked into the tombG3419; 12and she beholdeth twoG1417 angelsG32 in whiteG3022 sittingG2516, oneG1520 at the headG2776, and oneG1520 at the feetG4228, whereG3699 the bodyG4983 of JesusG2424 had lain. 13And they sayG3004 unto her, WomanG1135, whyG5101 weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have takenG142 awayG142 my LordG2962, and I know not whereG4226 they have laidG5087 him. 14When she had thus saidG3004, she turnedG4762 herself backG3694, and beholdeth JesusG2424 standingG2476, and knew not that it wasG1510 JesusG2424. 15JesusG2424 saith unto her, WomanG1135, whyG5101 weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to beG1510 the gardener, saith unto him, SirG2962, if thou hast borneG941 him hence, tellG3004 me whereG4226 thou hast laidG5087 him, and I will takeG142 him awayG142. 16JesusG2424 saith unto her, MaryG3137. She turneth herself, and saith unto him in HebrewG1447, RabboniG4462; which is to sayG3004, TeacherG1320. 17JesusG2424 saith to her, TouchG681 me not; for I am not yet ascendedG305 unto the FatherG3962: but goG4198 unto my brethren, and sayG3004 to them, I ascendG305 unto my FatherG3962 and your FatherG3962, and my GodG2316 and your GodG2316. 18MaryG3137 MagdaleneG3094 cometh and telleth the disciplesG3101, I have seenG3708 the LordG2962; and that he had saidG3004 these thingsG3778 unto her.
19When thereforeG3767 it wasG1510 eveningG3798, on that dayG2250, the firstG1520dayG2250of the weekG4521, and when the doorsG2374 wereG1510 shutG2808 whereG3699 the disciplesG3101 wereG1510, for fearG5401 of the JewsG2453, JesusG2424 cameG2064 and stoodG2476 in the midstG3319, and saith unto them, PeaceG1515 beG1510 unto you. 20And when he had saidG3004 this, he showedG1166 unto them his handsG5495 and his sideG4125. The disciplesG3101 thereforeG3767 were gladG5463, when they sawG3708 the LordG2962. 21JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 saidG3004 to them againG3825, PeaceG1515 be unto you: as the FatherG3962 hath sentG649 me, even so sendG3992 I you. 22And when he had saidG3004 this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, ReceiveG2983 ye the HolyG40 SpiritG4151: 23whose soever sinsG266 ye forgiveG863, they are forgivenG863 unto them; whose soever sinsG266 ye retain, they are retained.
24But ThomasG2381, oneG1520 of the twelveG1427, called DidymusG1324, wasG1510 not with them whenG3753 JesusG2424 cameG2064. 25The otherG243 disciplesG3101 thereforeG3767 saidG3004 unto him, We have seenG3708 the LordG2962. But he saidG3004 unto them, Except I shall seeG3708 in his handsG5495 the print of the nailsG2247, and putG906 my fingerG1147 into the print of the nailsG2247, and putG906 my handG5495 into his sideG4125, I will not believeG4100.
26And after eightG3638 daysG2250 againG3825 his disciplesG3101 wereG1510 within, and ThomasG2381 with them. JesusG2424 cometh, the doorsG2374 beingG1510 shutG2808, and stoodG2476 in the midstG3319, and saidG3004, PeaceG1515 beG1510 unto you. 27Then saith he to ThomasG2381, Reach hither thy fingerG1147, and seeG3708 my handsG5495; and reach hither thy handG5495, and putG906 it into my sideG4125: and be not faithless, but believing. 28ThomasG2381 answeredG611 and saidG3004 unto him, My LordG2962 and my GodG2316. 29JesusG2424 saith unto him, Because thou hast seenG3708 me, thou hast believedG4100: blessed are they that have not seenG3708, and yet have believedG4100.
30ManyG4183 otherG243 signsG4592 thereforeG3767 did JesusG2424 in the presenceG1799 of the disciplesG3101, which areG1510 not writtenG1125 in this bookG975: 31but these areG1510 writtenG1125, that ye may believeG4100 that JesusG2424 isG1510 the ChristG5547, the SonG5207 of GodG2316; and that believingG4100 ye may have lifeG2222 in his nameG3686.
