John 10
1Verily, verily, I sayG3004 unto you, He that entereth not by the doorG2374 into the foldG833 of the sheepG4263, but climbeth up some other way, the same isG1510 a thiefG2812 and a robberG3027. 2But he that entereth in by the doorG2374 isG1510 the shepherdG4166 of the sheepG4263. 3To him the porter openeth; and the sheepG4263 hearG191 his voiceG5456: and he calleth his ownG2398 sheepG4263 by nameG3686, and leadeth them out. 4WhenG3752 he hath putG1544 forth all his ownG2398, he goeth before them, and the sheepG4263 followG190 him: for they know his voiceG5456. 5And a strangerG245 will they not followG190, but will fleeG5343 from him: for they know not the voiceG5456 of strangersG245. 6This parable spake JesusG2424 unto them: but they understoodG1097 not what thingsG3778 they wereG1510 which he spake unto them.
7JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 saidG3004 unto them againG3825, Verily, verily, I sayG3004 unto you, I amG1510 the doorG2374 of the sheepG4263. 8All that cameG2064 before me areG1510 thievesG2812 and robbersG3027: but the sheepG4263 did not hearG191 them. 9I amG1510 the doorG2374; by me if any man enterG1525 in, he shall beG1510 savedG4982, and shall goG1831 in and goG1831 out, and shall findG2147 pastureG3542. 10The thiefG2812 cometh not, but that he may stealG2813, and killG2380, and destroyG622: I cameG2064 that they may have lifeG2222, and may have it abundantly. 11I amG1510 the goodG2570 shepherdG4166: the goodG2570 shepherdG4166 layeth downG5087 his lifeG5590 for the sheepG4263. 12He that isG1510 a hireling, and not a shepherdG4166, whose ownG2398 the sheepG4263 areG1510 not, beholdeth the wolfG3074 comingG2064, and leaveth the sheepG4263, and fleeth, and the wolfG3074 snatcheth them, and scattereth them: 13he fleeth because he isG1510 a hireling, and careth not for the sheepG4263. 14I amG1510 the goodG2570 shepherdG4166; and I knowG1097 mine own, and mine own knowG1097 me, 15evenG2532 as the FatherG3962 knoweth me, and I knowG1097 the FatherG3962; and I lay downG5087 my lifeG5590 for the sheepG4263. 16And otherG243 sheepG4263 I have, which areG1510 not of this foldG833: them alsoG2532 I must bringG71, and they shall hearG191 my voiceG5456; and they shall becomeG1096 oneG1520 flockG4167, oneG1520 shepherdG4166. 17Therefore doth the FatherG3962 loveG25 me, because I lay downG5087 my lifeG5590, that I may takeG2983 it againG3825. 18No oneG3762 taketh it awayG142 from me, but I lay it downG5087 of myself. I have powerG1849 to lay it downG5087, and I have powerG1849 to takeG142 it againG3825. This commandmentG1785 receivedG2983 I from my FatherG3962.
19There aroseG1096 a divisionG4978 againG3825 among the JewsG2453 because of these wordsG3056. 20And manyG4183 of them saidG3004, He hath a demonG1140, and is mad; whyG5101 hearG191 ye him? 21OthersG243 saidG3004, These areG1510 not the sayings of oneG3778 possessed with a demonG1140. Can a demonG1140 openG455 the eyesG3788 of the blindG5185?
22And it wasG1510 the feast of the dedication at JerusalemG2414: 23it was winter; and JesusG2424 was walkingG4043 in the temple in Solomon’s porch. 24The JewsG2453 thereforeG3767 came round about him, and saidG3004 unto him, How long dost thou hold us in suspense? If thou art the ChristG5547, tellG3004 us plainlyG3954. 25JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, I toldG3004 you, and ye believeG4100 not: the worksG2041 that I do in my Father’s nameG3686, these bear witnessG3140 of me. 26But ye believeG4100 not, because ye areG1510 not of my sheepG4263. 27My sheepG4263 hearG191 my voiceG5456, and I knowG1097 them, and they followG190 me: 28and I giveG1325 unto them eternalG166 lifeG2222; and they shall never perishG622, and no oneG5100 shall snatchG726 them out of my handG5495. 29My FatherG3962, who hath givenG1325 them unto me, isG1510 greaterG3173 than all; and no oneG3762 isG1510 ableG1410 to snatchG726 them out of the Father’s handG5495. 30I and the FatherG3962 areG1510 oneG1520. 31The JewsG2453 took up stonesG3037 againG3825 to stoneG3037 him. 32JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, ManyG4183 goodG2570 worksG2041 have I showedG1166 you from the FatherG3962; for which of those worksG2041 do ye stoneG3034 me? 33The JewsG2453 answeredG611 him, For a goodG2570 workG2041 we stoneG3034 thee not, but for blasphemyG988; and because that thou, beingG1510 a manG444, makest thyself GodG2316. 34JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, IsG1510 it not writtenG1125 in your lawG3551, I saidG3004, Ye areG1510 godsG2316? 35If he called them godsG2316, unto whom the wordG3056 of GodG2316 cameG1096 (and the scriptureG1124 cannot be brokenG3089), 36sayG3004 ye of him, whom the FatherG3962 sanctifiedG37 and sentG649 into the worldG2889, Thou blasphemest; because I saidG3004, I amG1510 the SonG5207 of GodG2316? 37If I do not the worksG2041 of my FatherG3962, believeG4100 me not. 38But if I do them, though ye believeG4100 not me, believeG4100 the worksG2041: that ye may knowG1097 and understandG1097 that the FatherG3962 is in me, and I in the FatherG3962. 39They soughtG2212 againG3825 to take him: and he wentG1831 forthG1831 out of their handG5495.
40And he wentG565 awayG565 againG3825 beyond the JordanG2446 into the placeG5117 whereG3699 JohnG2491 wasG1510 at the firstG4413 baptizingG907; and there he abode. 41And manyG4183 cameG2064 unto him; and they saidG3004, JohnG2491 indeed did no signG4592: but all thingsG3778 whatsoever JohnG2491 spake of this manG3778 wereG1510 trueG227. 42And manyG4183 believedG4100 on him there.
