John 15
1I amG1510 the trueG228 vineG288, and my FatherG3962 isG1510 the husbandman. 2Every branchG2814 in me that beareth not fruitG2590, he taketh it awayG142: and every branchG2814 that beareth fruitG2590, he cleanseth it, that it may bearG5342 moreG4183 fruitG2590. 3AlreadyG2235 ye areG1510 cleanG2513 because of the wordG3056 which I have spokenG2980 unto you. 4AbideG3306 in me, and I in you. As the branchG2814 cannot bearG5342 fruitG2590 of itself, except it abideG3306 in the vineG288; so neither can ye, except ye abideG3306 in me. 5I amG1510 the vineG288, ye areG1510 the branchesG2814: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the sameG846 beareth muchG4183 fruitG2590: for apartG5565 from me ye can do nothing. 6If a man abideG3306 not in me, he is castG906 forth as a branchG2814, and is witheredG3583; and they gatherG4863 them, and castG906 them into the fireG4442, and they are burnedG2545. 7If ye abideG3306 in me, and my words abideG3306 in you, askG154 whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8Herein is my FatherG3962 glorifiedG1392, that ye bearG5342 muchG4183 fruitG2590; and soG2443 shall ye be my disciplesG3101. 9Even as the FatherG3962 hath lovedG25 me, I also have lovedG25 you: abideG3306 ye in my loveG26. 10If ye keepG5083 my commandmentsG1785, ye shall abideG3306 in my loveG26; evenG2532 as I have keptG5083 my Father’s commandmentsG1785, and abideG3306 in his loveG26. 11These thingsG3778 have I spokenG2980 unto you, that my joyG5479 may beG1510 in you, and that your joyG5479 may beG1510 made fullG4137. 12This isG1510 my commandmentG1785, that ye loveG25 oneG240 another, even as I have lovedG25 you. 13GreaterG3173 loveG26 hath no manG3778 than this, that a manG3778 lay downG5087 his lifeG5590 for his friendsG5384. 14Ye areG1510 my friendsG5384, if ye do the thingsG3739 which I commandG1781 you. 15NoG3756 longer do I call you servantsG1401; for the servantG1401 knoweth not what his lordG2962 doeth: but I have called you friendsG5384; for all thingsG3956 that I heardG191 from my FatherG3962 I have madeG4160 known unto you. 16Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointedG5087 you, that ye should goG5217 and bearG5342 fruitG2590, and that your fruitG2590 should abideG3306: that whatsoever ye shall askG154 of the FatherG3962 in my nameG3686, he may giveG1325 it you. 17These thingsG3778 I commandG1781 you, that ye may loveG25 oneG240 another. 18If the worldG2889 hateth you, ye knowG1097 that it hath hatedG3404 me before it hatedG3404 you. 19If ye wereG1510 of the worldG2889, the worldG2889 would loveG5368 its ownG2398: but because ye areG1510 not of the worldG2889, but I chose you out of the worldG2889, therefore the worldG2889 hateth you. 20RememberG3421 the wordG3056 that I saidG3004 unto you, A servantG1401 isG1510 not greaterG3173 than his lordG2962. If they persecutedG1377 me, they will alsoG2532 persecuteG1377 you; if they keptG5083 my wordG3056, they will keepG5083 yours alsoG2532. 21But all these thingsG3778 will they do unto you for my name’sG3686 sakeG1223, because they know not him that sentG3992 me. 22If I had not comeG2064 and spokenG2980 unto them, they had not had sinG266: but nowG1161 they have no excuse for their sinG266. 23He that hateth me hateth my FatherG3962 alsoG2532. 24If I had not done among them the worksG2041 which noneG3762 otherG243 did, they had not had sinG266: but nowG1161 have they both seenG3708 and hatedG3404 both me and my FatherG3962. 25But this cometh to pass, that the wordG3056 may be fulfilled that is writtenG1125 in their lawG3551, They hatedG3404 me without a cause. 26But whenG3752 the Comforter is comeG2064, whom I will sendG3992 unto you from the FatherG3962, even the SpiritG4151 of truthG225, which proceedeth from the FatherG3962, he shall bearG3140 witnessG3140 of me: 27and ye alsoG2532 bearG3140 witnessG3140, because ye have beenG1510 with me from the beginning.
