Galatians Chapter 1
American Standard Version
1PaulG3972, an apostleG652 (not from menG444, neither through manG444, but through JesusG2424 ChristG5547, and GodG2316 the FatherG3962, who raisedG1453 him from the deadG3498), 2and all the brethren that are with me, unto the churchesG1577 of GalatiaG1053: 3GraceG5485 to you and peaceG1515 from GodG2316 the FatherG3962, and our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547, 4who gaveG1325 himself for our sinsG266, that he might deliver us out of this presentG1764 evilG4190 world, accordingG2596 to the will of our GodG2316 and FatherG3962: 5to whom be the gloryG1391 for ever and ever. AmenG281.
6I marvelG2296 that ye are soG3779 quickly removing from him that calledG2564 you in the graceG5485 of ChristG5547 unto a differentG2087 gospelG2098; 7which isG1510 not another gospelG2098: onlyG1487 there areG1510 some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospelG2098 of ChristG5547. 8But though we, or an angelG32 from heavenG3772, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him beG1510 anathema. 9As we have saidG3004 beforeG3844, so sayG3004 I now againG3825, If any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye receivedG3880, let him beG1510 anathema. 10For amG1510 I nowG737 seekingG2212 the favor of menG444, or of GodG2316? or amG1510 I striving to pleaseG700 menG444? if I wereG1510 stillG2089 pleasingG700 menG444, I should not beG1510 a servantG1401 of ChristG5547.
11For I makeG1107 known to you, brethren, as touching the gospelG2098 which wasG1510 preached by me, that it isG1510 not after manG444. 12For neither did I receiveG3880 it from manG444, nor was I taughtG1321 it, but it came to me through revelationG602 of JesusG2424 ChristG5547. 13For ye have heardG191 of my mannerG391 of lifeG391 in timeG4218 past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecutedG1377 the churchG1577 of GodG2316, and made havoc of it: 14and I advanced in the Jews’ religion beyond manyG4183 of mineG1473 own age among my countrymen, being moreG4183 exceedingly zealousG2207 for the traditionsG3862 of my fathers. 15But whenG3753 it was the good pleasureG2106 of God, who separatedG873 me, evenG2532 from my mother’sG3384 wombG2836, and calledG2564 me through his graceG5485, 16to revealG601 his SonG5207 in me, that I might preach him among the GentilesG1484; straightway I conferred not with fleshG4561 and bloodG129: 17neither wentG565 I up to JerusalemG2414 to them that were apostlesG652 before me: but I wentG565 awayG565 into ArabiaG688; and againG3825 I returnedG5290 unto DamascusG1154.
18Then after threeG5140 yearsG2094 I went up to JerusalemG2414 to visit CephasG2786, and tarried with him fifteenG1178 daysG2250. 19But otherG2087 of the apostlesG652 sawG3708 I none, save JamesG2385 the Lord’s brotherG80. 20NowG1161 touching the thingsG3739 which I writeG1125 unto you, beholdG2400, before GodG2316, I lieG5574 not. 21Then I cameG2064 into the regionsG2824 of SyriaG4947 and CiliciaG2791. 22And I wasG1510 still unknownG50 by faceG4383 unto the churchesG1577 of Judæa which wereG1510 in ChristG5547: 23but they onlyG3440 heardG191 say, He that onceG4218 persecutedG1377 us nowG1161 preacheth the faithG4102 of which he onceG4218 made havoc; 24and they glorifiedG1392 GodG2316 in me.
