Zephaniah 1

2I will utterly consume all things from off the faceH6440 of the groundH127, saith Jehovah. 3I will consume manH120 and beast; I will consume the birdsH5775 of the heavensH8064, and the fishes of the seaH3220, and the stumblingblocks with the wickedH7563; and I will cutH3772 off manH120 from off the faceH6440 of the groundH127, saith Jehovah. 4And I will stretchH5186 out my handH3027 upon JudahH3063, and upon all the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389; and I will cutH3772 off the remnantH7605 of BaalH1168 from this placeH4725, and the nameH8034 of the Chemarim with the priestsH3548; 5and them that worship the hostH6635 of heavenH8064 upon the housetops; and them that worship, that swearH7650 to Jehovah and swearH7650 by Malcam; 6and them that are turnedH5472 back from following Jehovah; and those that have not soughtH1245 Jehovah, nor inquired after him.

14The greatH1419 dayH3117 of Jehovah is near, it is near and hasteth greatly, even the voiceH6963 of the dayH3117 of Jehovah; the mightyH1368 manH1368 crieth there bitterly. 15That dayH3117 is a dayH3117 of wrathH5678, a dayH3117 of troubleH6869 and distressH6869, a dayH3117 of wasteness and desolationH4875, a dayH3117 of darknessH2822 and gloominess, a dayH3117 of cloudsH6051 and thickH6205 darknessH2822, 16a dayH3117 of the trumpetH7782 and alarmH8643, against the fortifiedH1219 citiesH5892, and against the highH1364 battlements. 17And I will bring distress upon menH120, that they shall walkH1980 like blindH5787 menH120, because they have sinnedH2398 against Jehovah; and their bloodH1818 shall be pouredH8210 out as dustH6083, and their flesh as dungH1561. 18Neither their silverH3701 nor their goldH2091 shall be ableH3201 to deliverH5337 them in the dayH3117 of Jehovah’s wrathH5678; but the whole landH776 shall be devouredH398 by the fireH784 of his jealousyH7068: for he will makeH6213 an end, yea, a terrible end, of all them that dwellH3427 in the landH776.
