Acts 18:6-28
6But when they resistedG498 and blasphemedG987, he 1shookG1621 out his garmentsG2440 and saidG3004 to them, “Your 2bloodG129 be on your own headsG2776! I am cleanG2513. From nowG3568 on I will goG4198 3to the GentilesG1484.” 7ThenG2532 he leftG3327 thereG1564 and wentG2064 to the houseG3614 of a manG5100 namedG3686 4TitiusG5102 JustusG2459, 5a worshiperG4576 of GodG2316, whoseG3739 houseG3614 was nextG4927 to the synagogueG4864. 86CrispusG2921, 7the leaderG752 of the synagogueG752, believedG4100 in the LordG2962 8with allG3650 his householdG3624, and manyG4183 of the 9CorinthiansG2881 when they heardG191 were believingG4100 and being baptizedG907. 9And the LordG2962 saidG3004 to PaulG3972 in the nightG3571 by 10a visionG3705, “Do not be afraidG5399 any longer, but go on speakingG2980 and do not be silentG4623; 10for I amG1510 with you, and noG3762 manG3762 will attackG2007 you in order to harmG2559 you, for I have manyG4183 peopleG2992 in thisG3778 cityG4172.” 11And he settledG2523 there a yearG1763 and sixG1803 monthsG3376, teachingG1321 the wordG3056 of GodG2316 amongG1722 them.
12But while GallioG1058 was 11proconsulG446 of 12AchaiaG882, 13the JewsG2453 with oneG3661 accordG3661 roseG2721 up againstG2721 PaulG3972 and broughtG71 him beforeG1909 14the judgmentG968 seatG968, 13sayingG3004, “ThisG3778 manG3778 persuadesG374 menG444 to worshipG4576 GodG2316 contraryG3844 to 15the lawG3551.” 14But when PaulG3972 was aboutG3195 to 16openG455 his mouthG4750, GallioG1058 saidG3004 to the JewsG2453, “IfG1487 it were a matterG5100 of wrongG92 orG2228 of viciousG4190 crimeG4467, OG5599 JewsG2453, it would be reasonableG3056 for me to putG430 up with you; 15but ifG1487 there are 17questionsG2213 aboutG4012 wordsG3056 and namesG3686 and your own lawG3551, lookG3708 afterG3708 it yourselvesG846; I amG1014 unwillingG3756G1014 to be a judgeG2923 of theseG3778 matters.” 16And he droveG556 them awayG556 from 18the judgmentG968 seatG968. 17And they allG3956 tookG1949 holdG1949 of 19SosthenesG4988, 20the leaderG752 of the synagogueG752, and began beatingG5180 him in frontG1715 of 21the judgmentG968 seatG968. But GallioG1058 was not concernedG3199 about anyG3762 of theseG3778 thingsG3778.
18PaulG3972, having remainedG4357 manyG2425 daysG2250 longerG2089, 22tookG657 leaveG657 of 23the brethrenG80 and putG1602 out to seaG1602 for 24SyriaG4947, and with him were 25PriscillaG4251 and 26AquilaG207. In 27CenchreaG2747 28he 29had his hairG2776 cutG2751, for he was keepingG2192 a vowG2171. 19They cameG2658 to 30EphesusG2181, and he leftG2641 them thereG847. NowG1161 he himselfG846 enteredG1525 31the synagogueG4864 and reasonedG1256 with the JewsG2453. 20When they askedG2065 him to stayG3306 for a longerG4183 timeG5550, he did not consentG1962, 21but 32takingG657 leaveG657 of them and sayingG3004, “I will returnG344 to you againG3825 33if GodG2316 willsG2309,” he setG321 sailG321 from 34EphesusG2181.
22When he had landedG2718 at 35CaesareaG2542, he wentG305 up and greetedG782 the churchG1577, and wentG2597 downG2597 to 36AntiochG490. 23And having spentG4160 someG5100 timeG5550 there, he leftG1831 and passedG1330 successivelyG2517 throughG1330 the 37GalatianG1054 regionG5561 and PhrygiaG5435, strengtheningG4741 allG3956 the disciplesG3101.
24NowG1161 a JewG2453 namedG3686 38ApollosG625, an 39AlexandrianG221 by birthG1085, 40an eloquentG3052 manG435, cameG2658 to 41EphesusG2181; and he was mightyG1415 in the ScripturesG1124. 25ThisG3778 manG3778 had beenG1510 instructedG2727 in 42the wayG3598 of the LordG2962; and beingG2204 ferventG2204 in spiritG4151, he was speakingG2980 and teachingG1321 accuratelyG199 the things concerningG4012 JesusG2424, beingG1987 acquaintedG1987 onlyG3440 with 43the baptismG908 of JohnG2491; 26and 44he beganG757 to speakG3955 out boldlyG3955 in the synagogueG4864. But when 45PriscillaG4251 and AquilaG207 heardG191 him, they tookG4355 him asideG4355 and explainedG1620 to him 46the wayG3598 of GodG2316 moreG199 accuratelyG199. 27And when he wantedG1014 to goG1330 acrossG1330 to 47AchaiaG882, 48the brethrenG80 encouragedG4389 him and wroteG1125 to 49the disciplesG3101 to welcomeG588 him; and when he had arrivedG3854, he greatlyG4183 50helpedG4820 thoseG3588 who had believedG4100 throughG1223 graceG5485, 28for he powerfullyG2159 refutedG1246 the JewsG2453 in publicG1219, demonstratingG1925 51by the ScripturesG1124 that 52JesusG2424 was the 53ChristG5547.
