7nowδὲdeG1161,will not GodθεὸςtheosG2316bringG4160aboutG4160justiceἐκδίκησινekdikēsinG1557for HiselectἐκλεκτῶνeklektōnG1588who cryβοώντωνboōntōnG994to Him dayἡμέραςhēmerasG2250and nightνυκτός,nuktosG3571, and will HedelayG3114longG3114overἐπ᾽ep᾽G1909them?

8I tellλέγωlegōG3004you that He will bringG4160aboutG4160justiceἐκδίκησινekdikēsinG1557for them quicklyτάχει.tacheiG5034.HoweverπλὴνplēnG4133,when the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444comesἐλθὼνelthōnG2064,will He findεὑρήσειheurēseiG2147faithπίστινpistinG4102on the earthγῆς;¶gēsG1093?”

9And He alsoG2532toldG3004thisταύτην.¶tautēnG3778parableπαραβολὴνparabolēnG3850to someG5100peopleG5100whotrustedπεποιθόταςpepoithotasG3982in themselvesἑαυτοῖςhe'autoisG1438that they were righteousδίκαιοιdikaioiG1342, andviewedG1848othersλοιποὺςloipousG3062with contemptG1848:

10“TwoδύοduoG1417menἌνθρωποιAnthrōpoiG444wentἀνέβησανanebēsanG305up into the templeG2413to prayπροσεύξασθαι,proseuxasthaiG4336,oneεἷςheisG1520a PhariseeΦαρισαῖοςPharisaiosG5330and the otherἕτεροςheterosG2087a taxτελώνης.telōnēsG5057collectorG5057.

11The PhariseeΦαρισαῖοςPharisaiosG5330stoodσταθεὶςstatheisG2476and was prayingπροσηύχετο·prosēuchetoG4336thisταῦταtautaG3778to himselfἑαυτὸνhe'autonG1438: ‘Godθεός,theosG2316,I thankεὐχαριστῶeucharistōG2168You that I amεἰμὶeimiG1510not likeὥσπερhōsperG5618otherG3062peopleG3062:swindlersἅρπαγες,harpagesG727,unjustἄδικοι,adikoiG94,adulterersμοιχοί,moichoiG3432,orἢēG2228evenκαὶkaiG2532likeὡςhōsG5613thisοὗτοςhoutosG3778taxτελώνης.telōnēsG5057collectorG5057.

12IfastνηστεύωnēsteuōG3522twiceδὶςdisG1364a weekσαββάτου,sabbatouG4521; IpayG586tithesG586of allπάνταpantaG3956that I getκτῶμαι.¶ktōmaiG2932.’

13But the taxτελώνηςtelōnēsG5057collectorG5057,standingἑστὼςhestōsG2476someG3113distanceG3113awayG3113,was evenοὐδὲoudeG3761unwillingοὐκ ἤθελενouk ēthelenG3756 G2309to liftἐπᾶραιeparaiG1869up his eyesὀφθαλμοὺςophthalmousG3788to heavenοὐρανόν,ouranonG3772, butwas beatingἔτυπτενetuptenG5180his breastστῆθοςstēthosG4738,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, ‘Godθεός,theosG2316, bemercifulἱλάσθητίhilasthētiG2433to me, the sinnerἁμαρτωλῷ.hamartōlōG268!’

14I tellλέγωlegōG3004you, thisG3778manG3778wentκατέβηkatebēG2597to his houseοἶκονoikonG3624justifiedδεδικαιωμένοςdedikaiōmenosG1344ratherG3844thanG3844the otherἐκεῖνον.ekeinonG1565;for everyoneπᾶςpasG3956who exaltsὑψῶνhupsōnG5312himselfἑαυτὸνhe'autonG1438will be humbledταπεινωθήσεται,tapeinōthēsetaiG5013,but he who humblesταπεινῶνtapeinōnG5013himselfἑαυτὸνhe'autonG1438will be exaltedὑψωθήσεται.¶hupsōthēsetaiG5312.”

15And they were bringingΠροσέφερονProsepheronG4374evenκαὶkaiG2532their babiesβρέφηbrephēG1025to Him soἵναinaG2443that He would touchἅπτηται·haptētaiG681them, but when the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101sawG3708it, they beganrebukingἐπετίμωνepetimōnG2008them.

16But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424calledπροσεκαλέσατοprosekalesatoG4341for them, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004,“PermitἄφετεapheteG863the childrenπαιδίαpaidiaG3813to comeἔρχεσθαιerchesthaiG2064to Me, and do not hinderκωλύετεkōlueteG2967them, for the kingdomβασιλείαbasileiaG932of Godθεοῦ.theouG2316belongsἐστὶνestinG1510to suchτοιούτωνtoioutōnG5108as theseG5108.

17TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you,whoeverὃς ἂνhos anG3739 G302does not receiveδέξηταιdexētaiG1209the kingdomβασιλείανbasileianG932of GodθεοῦtheouG2316likeὡςhōsG5613a childπαιδίον,paidionG3813will not enterεἰσέλθῃeiselthēG1525it at all.”

18A rulerἄρχωνarchōnG758questionedἐπηρώτησένepērōtēsenG1905Him, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “Goodἀγαθέ,agatheG18TeacherδιδάσκαλεdidaskaleG1320,whatτίtiG5101shall I doποιήσαςpoiēsasG4160to inheritκληρονομήσω;klēronomēsōG2816eternalαἰώνιονaiōnionG166lifeζωὴνzōēnG2222?”

19And JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidG3004to him,“WhyτίtiG5101do you callG3004Me goodἀγαθόν;agathonG18?NoG3762oneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762is goodἀγαθὸςagathosG18exceptG1508Godθεός.theosG2316aloneεἷςheisG1520.

20You knowG3609the commandmentsἐντολὰςentolasG1785, ‘Do not commitμοιχεύσῃς,moicheusēsG3431adulteryG3431,Do not murderφονεύσῃς,phoneusēsG5407,Do not stealκλέψῃς,klepsēsG2813,Do not bearψευδομαρτυρήσῃς,pseudomarturēsēsG5576falseG5576witnessG5576,HonorτίμαtimaG5091your fatherπατέραpateraG3962and motherμητέραmēteraG3384.’”

21And he saidG3004, “AllπάνταpantaG3956theseG3778thingsG3778I have keptἐφύλαξαephulaxaG5442from myyouthνεότητοςneotētosG3503.”

22When JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424heardἈκούσαςAkousasG191this,He saidG3004to him,“OneἕνhenG1520thingG1520you stillἔτιetiG2089lackλείπει·leipeiG3007;sellπώλησονpōlēsonG4453allπάνταpantaG3956that you possessἔχειςecheisG2192and distributeδιάδοςdiadosG1239it to the poorπτωχοῖς,ptōchoisG4434,and you shall haveἕξειςhexeisG2192treasureθησαυρὸνthēsauronG2344in heavenοὐρανοῖς·ouranoisG3772;and comeδεῦρο,deuroG1204,followἀκολούθειakoloutheiG190Me.”

23But when he had heardἀκούσαςakousasG191theseG3778thingsταῦταtautaG3778,he becameἐγενήθη·egenēthēG1096veryπερίλυποςperiluposG4036sadG4036,for he was extremelyσφόδρα.¶sphodraG4970richπλούσιοςplousiosG4145.

24And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424lookedG3708at him and saidG3004, “HowπῶςpōsG4459hardδυσκόλωςduskolōsG1423it is for thoseG3588who are wealthyχρήματαchrēmataG5536to enterεἰσπορεύονται.eisporeuontaiG1531the kingdomβασιλείανbasileianG932of GodθεοῦtheouG2316!

25Forit is easierεὐκοπώτερονeukopōteronG2123for a camelκάμηλονkamēlonG2574togoεἰσελθεῖνeiseltheinG1525throughδιὰdiaG1223the eyeG5144of a needleG956thanἢēG2228for a richπλούσιονplousionG4145manG4145to enterεἰσελθεῖν.¶eiseltheinG1525the kingdomβασιλείανbasileianG932of GodθεοῦtheouG2316.”

26They who heardἀκούσαντες·akousantesG191it saidG3004, “ThenκαὶkaiG2532whoτίςtisG5101canδύναταιdunataiG1410be savedσωθῆναι;sōthēnaiG4982?”

27But He saidG3004, “The thingsG102that are impossibleἀδύναταadunataG102with peopleἀνθρώποιςanthrōpoisG444are possibleδυνατὰdunataG1415with GodθεῷtheōG2316.”

28PeterΠέτρος·PetrosG4074saidG3004, “BeholdἰδοὺidouG2400,we have leftἀφέντεςaphentesG863our ownἴδιαidiaG2398homesand followedἠκολουθήσαμένēkolouthēsamenG190You.”

29And He saidλέγωlegōG3004to them,“TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayG3004to you,there is noG3762oneοὐδείςoudeisG3762whoὃςhosG3739has leftἀφῆκενaphēkenG863houseοἰκίανoikianG3614orἢēG2228wifeγυναῖκαgunaikaG1135orἢēG2228brothersἀδελφοὺςadelphousG80orἢēG2228parentsγονεῖςgoneisG1118orἢēG2228childrenτέκναteknaG5043,for the sakeἕνεκενhenekenG1752of the kingdomβασιλείαςbasileiasG932of Godθεοῦ,theouG2316,

30whoὃςhosG3739will not receiveG2983manyG4179timesG4179as muchG4179at thisτούτῳtoutōG3778timeκαιρῷkairōG2540and inthe ageαἰῶνιaiōniG165to comeἐρχομένῳerchomenōG2064,eternalαἰώνιον.¶aiōnionG166lifeζωὴνzōēnG2222.”

31ThenκαὶkaiG2532He tookG3880the twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427asideG3880and saidG3004to them,“BeholdἰδοὺidouG2400,we are goingἀναβαίνομενanabainomenG305up to JerusalemἸερουσαλήμ,IerousalēmG2419, andallG3956thingsπάνταpantaG3956which are writtenγεγραμμέναgegrammenaG1125throughδιὰdiaG1223the prophetsπροφητῶνprophētōnG4396about the SonυἱῷhuiōG5207of Manἀνθρώπου·anthrōpouG444will be accomplishedτελεσθήσεταιtelesthēsetaiG5055.

32For He will behandedπαραδοθήσεταιparadothēsetaiG3860over to the GentilesἔθνεσινethnesinG1484,and will be mockedἐμπαιχθήσεταιempaichthēsetaiG1702and mistreatedὑβρισθήσεταιhubristhēsetaiG5195and spitἐμπτυσθήσεται,emptusthēsetaiG1716upon,

33and after they have scourgedμαστιγώσαντεςmastigōsantesG3146Him, they will killἀποκτενοῦσινapoktenousinG615Him; and the thirdτρίτῃtritēG5154dayἡμέρᾳhēmeraG2250He will riseἀναστήσεται.anastēsetaiG450againG450.”

34Butthe disciples understoodσυνῆκαν,sunēkanG4920noneοὐδὲνoudenG3762of theseG3778thingsG3778, and the meaning ofthisG3778statementῥῆμαrhēmaG4487was hiddenκεκρυμμένονkekrummenonG2928from them, and they did not comprehendἐγίνωσκονeginōskonG1097the things that were saidλεγόμενα.¶legomenaG3004.

35AsJesus was approachingἐγγίζεινengizeinG1448JerichoἸεριχὼIerichōG2410,a blindτυφλόςtuphlosG5185manG5185was sittingἐκάθητοekathētoG2521by the roadὁδὸνhodonG3598beggingἐπαιτῶν.epaitōnG1871.

36NowδὲdeG1161hearingἀκούσαςakousasG191a crowdὄχλουochlouG3793goingδιαπορευομένουdiaporeuomenouG1279by, he beganto inquireἐπυνθάνετοepunthanetoG4441whatτίtiG5101thisτοῦτο.toutoG3778was.

37They toldἀπήγγειλανapēngeilanG518him that JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424of NazarethΝαζωραῖοςNazōraiosG3480was passingπαρέρχεται.parerchetaiG3928by.

38And he calledἐβόησενeboēsenG994out, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “JesusἸησοῦIēsouG2424,SonυἱὲhuieG5207of DavidG1160,haveG1653mercyἐλέησόνeleēsonG1653on me!”

39ThoseοἱhoiG3588who ledG4254the wayG4254were sternlyG2008tellingG2008him to be quietσιγήσῃ.sigēsēG4601;but he kept cryingG2905out allπολλῷpollōG4183the moreμᾶλλονmallonG3123, “SonυἱὲhuieG5207of DavidG1160,haveG1653mercyἐλέησόνeleēsonG1653on me!”

40And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424stoppedΣταθεὶςStatheisG2476and commandedἐκέλευσενekeleusenG2753that he be broughtἀχθῆναιachthēnaiG71to Him; and when he cameG1448nearG1448,He questionedἐπηρώτησενepērōtēsenG1905him,

41“WhatτίtiG5101do you wantθέλειςtheleisG2309Me to doποιήσω;poiēsōG4160for you?”And he saidG3004, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962, I wantto regainG308my sightἀναβλέψω.anablepsōG308!”

42And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to him, “Receiveἀνάβλεψον·anablepsonG308your sightG308;your faithπίστιςpistisG4102hasmadeG4982you wellG4982.”

43ImmediatelyπαραχρῆμαparachrēmaG3916he regainedG308his sightἀνέβλεψενaneblepsenG308and beganfollowingἠκολούθειēkoloutheiG190Him,glorifyingδοξάζωνdoxazōnG1392Godθεόν.theonG2316; and whenallπᾶςpasG3956the peopleλαὸςlaosG2992sawG3708it, they gaveἔδωκενedōkenG1325praiseαἶνονainonG136to Godθεῷ.¶theōG2316.
