2“The Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068was veryקָֽצֶף׃Ka.tzefH7110angryקָצַ֧ףka.TzafH7107with your fathersאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1.

3Therefore sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “Returnשׁ֣וּבוּShu.vuH7725to Me,” declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “that I may returnוְאָשׁ֣וּבve.'a.ShuvH7725to you,” saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.

4“Do not belike your fathersכַאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶ֡םkha.'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,to whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834theformerהָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֜יםha.ri.sho.NimH7223prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֨יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030proclaimedקָרְאֽוּ־ka.re.'u-H7121,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559, ‘Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “Returnשׁ֤וּבוּShu.vuH7725nowנָא֙na'H4994from your evilהָרָעִ֔יםha.ra.'ImH7451waysמִדַּרְכֵיכֶ֣םmi.dar.khei.KhemH1870and from your evilהָֽרָעִ֑יםha.ra.'ImH7451deedsוּמַֽעֲלְלֵיכֶ֖םu.ma.'a.li.lei.khemH4611.”’ But they didnot listenשָׁמְע֛וּsha.me.'UH8085or giveH7181heedH7181to Me,” declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

5“Yourfathersאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,whereאַיֵּה־'ai.yeh-H346are they? And theprophetsוְהַ֨נְּבִאִ֔יםve.Ha.ne.vi.'ImH5030,do they liveיִֽחְיֽוּ׃Yich.YuH2421foreverהַלְעוֹלָ֖םhal.'o.LamH5769?

6But did not My wordsדְּבָרַ֣יde.va.RaiH1697and My statutesוְחֻקַּ֗יve.chu.KaiH2706,whichH834I commandedצִוִּ֙יתִי֙tzi.Vi.tiH6680My servantsעֲבָדַ֣י'a.va.DaiH5650the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֔יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030,overtakeהִשִּׂ֖יגוּhi.Si.guH5381your fathersאֲבֹתֵיכֶ֑ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1?Then they repentedוַיָּשׁ֣וּבוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725and saidוַיֹּאמְר֗וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, ‘As the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635purposedזָמַ֜םza.MamH2161to doלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213to us in accordance with our waysכִּדְרָכֵ֙ינוּ֙kid.ra.Khei.nuH1870and our deedsוּכְמַ֣עֲלָלֵ֔ינוּu.khe.Ma.'a.la.Lei.nuH4611,soכֵּ֖ןkenH3651He has dealtעָשָׂ֥ה'a.SahH6213with us.’”’”

8I sawרָאִ֣יתִי׀ra.'I.tiH7200at nightהַלַּ֗יְלָהha.Lay.lahH3915,and beholdוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009,a manאִישׁ֙'ishH376was ridingרֹכֵב֙ro.KhevH7392on aredאָדֹ֔ם'a.DomH122horseס֣וּסsusH5483,and he was standingעֹמֵ֔ד'o.MedH5975amongבֵּ֥יןbeinH996themyrtleהַהֲדַסִּ֖יםha.ha.da.SimH1918treesH1918whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834were in the ravineבַּמְּצֻלָ֑הba.me.tzu.LahH4699,with redאֲדֻמִּ֔ים'a.du.MimH122,sorrelשְׂרֻקִּ֖יםse.ru.KimH8320andwhiteוּלְבָנִֽים׃u.le.va.NimH3836horsesסוּסִ֣יםsu.SimH5483behindוְאַחֲרָיו֙ve.'a.cha.RavH310him.

9Then I saidוָאֹמַ֖רva.'o.MarH559, “Mylordאֲדֹנִ֑י'a.do.NiH113,whatמָה־mah-H4100are theseאֵ֣לֶּה'E.lehH428?” And theangelהַמַּלְאָךְ֙ha.mal.'oKhH4397who was speakingהַדֹּבֵ֣רha.do.VerH1696with me saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “I will showאַרְאֶ֖ךָּ'ar.'E.kaH7200you whatמָה־mah-H4100theseאֵֽלֶּה׃'E.lehH428are.”

10And the manהָאִ֛ישׁha.'IshH376who was standingהָעֹמֵ֥דha.'o.MedH5975amongבֵּין־bein-H996the myrtleהַהַדַסִּ֖יםha.ha.da.SimH1918treesH1918answeredוַיַּ֗עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “Theseאֵ֚לֶּה'E.lehH428are those whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068has sentשָׁלַ֣חsha.LachH7971topatrolלְהִתְהַלֵּ֖ךְle.hit.ha.LekhH1980the earthבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.”

11So they answeredוַֽיַּעֲנ֞וּvai.ya.'a.NuH6030the angelמַלְאַ֣ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068who wasstandingהָֽעֹמֵד֙ha.'o.MedH5975amongבֵּ֣יןbeinH996the myrtleהַהֲדַסִּ֔יםha.ha.da.SimH1918treesH1918and saidוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “We havepatrolledהִתְהַלַּ֣כְנוּhit.ha.Lakh.nuH1980the earthבָאָ֑רֶץva.'A.retzH776,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009,allכָל־khol-H3605the earthהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776ispeacefulיֹשֶׁ֥בֶתyo.She.vetH3427and quietוְשֹׁקָֽטֶת׃ve.sho.Ka.tetH8252.”

12Then the angelמַלְאַךְ־mal.'akh-H4397of the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּאמַר֒vai.yo.MarH559, “O Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,howH4970longעַד־'ad-H5704 H4970will YouhaveH7355noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808compassionתְרַחֵ֣םte.ra.ChemH7355for Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389and the citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,with whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834You have beenH2194indignantזָעַ֔מְתָּהza.'Am.tahH2194theseזֶ֖הzehH2088seventyשִׁבְעִ֥יםshiv.'ImH7657yearsשָׁנָֽה׃sha.NahH8141?”

13The Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068answeredוַיַּ֣עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030theangelהַמַּלְאָ֛ךְha.mal.'AkhH4397who was speakingהַדֹּבֵ֥רha.do.VerH1696with me withgraciousטוֹבִ֑יםto.VimH2896wordsדְּבָרִ֣יםde.va.RimH1697,comfortingנִחֻמִֽים׃ni.chu.MimH5150wordsדְּבָרִ֖יםde.va.RimH1697.

14So the angelהַמַּלְאָךְ֙ha.mal.'oKhH4397who was speakingהַדֹּבֵ֣רha.do.VerH1696with me saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Proclaimקְרָ֣אke.Ra'H7121,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘Thusכֹּ֥הkohH3541saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “I amexceedinglyגְדוֹלָֽה׃ge.do.LahH1419jealousקִנֵּ֧אתִיki.Ne.tiH7065for Jerusalemלִירוּשָׁלִַ֛םli.ru.sha.LimH3389and Zionוּלְצִיּ֖וֹןu.le.tzi.YonH6726.

15But I am veryוְקֶ֤צֶף גָּדוֹל֙ve.Ke.tzef ga.dOlH1419 H7110angryקֹצֵ֔ףko.TzefH7107with the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471who areat easeהַשַּֽׁאֲנַנִּ֑יםha.sha.'a.na.NimH7600;for while I was only a littleמְּעָ֔טme.'AtH4592angryקָצַ֣פְתִּיka.Tzaf.tiH7107, theyfurtheredעָזְר֥וּ'a.ze.RuH5826the disasterH7463.”

16Thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068, “I willreturnשַׁ֤בְתִּיShav.tiH7725to Jerusalemלִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙li.ru.sha.LimH3389with compassionבְּֽרַחֲמִ֔יםbe.ra.cha.MimH7356; Myhouseבֵּיתִי֙bei.TiH1004will be builtיִבָּ֣נֶהyi.Ba.nehH1129in it,” declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “and a measuringH6957lineH6957will be stretchedיִנָּטֶ֖הyi.na.TehH5186overעַל־'al-H5921Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ye.ru.sha.LimH3389.”’

17Againע֣וֹד׀odH5750,proclaimקְרָ֣אke.Ra'H7121,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559, ‘Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “Mycitiesעָרַ֖י'a.RaiH5892will againע֛וֹדodH5750overflowתְּפוּצֶ֥ינָהte.fu.Tzei.nahH6327with prosperityמִטּ֑וֹבmi.TovH2896,and the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068will againעוֹד֙'OdH5750comfortוְנִחַ֨םve.ni.ChamH5162Zionצִיּ֔וֹןtzi.YonH6726and againע֖וֹדodH5750chooseוּבָחַ֥רu.va.CharH977Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ סbi.ru.sha.LimH3389.”’”

18Then I liftedוָאֶשָּׂ֥אva.'e.Sa'H5375up my eyesעֵינַ֖י'ei.NaiH5869and lookedוָאֵ֑רֶאva.'E.re'H7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֖הve.hi.NehH2009, there werefourאַרְבַּ֥ע'ar.Ba'H702hornsקְרָנֽוֹת׃ke.ra.NotH7161.

19So I saidוָאֹמַ֗רva.'o.MarH559to the angelהַמַּלְאָ֛ךְha.mal.'AkhH4397who was speakingהַדֹּבֵ֥רha.do.VerH1696with me, “Whatמָה־mah-H4100are theseאֵ֑לֶּה'E.lehH428?”And he answeredוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559me, “Theseאֵ֤לֶּה'E.lehH428are thehornsהַקְּרָנוֹת֙ha.ke.ra.nOtH7161whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834have scatteredזֵר֣וּze.RuH2219Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478and Jerusalemוִירוּשָׁלָֽם׃ סvi.ru.sha.LamH3389.”

20Then the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068showedוַיַּרְאֵ֣נִיvai.yar.'E.niH7200me fourאַרְבָּעָ֖ה'ar.ba.'AhH702craftsmenחָרָשִֽׁים׃cha.ra.ShimH2796.

21I saidH559, “Whatמָ֛הmahH4100are theseאֵ֥לֶּה'E.lehH428comingבָאִ֖יםva.'ImH935to doלַֽעֲשׂ֑וֹתla.'a.SotH6213?”And he saidH559, “Theseאֵ֣לֶּה'E.lehH428are thehornsהַקְּרָנ֞וֹתha.ke.ra.NotH7161whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834have scatteredזֵ֣רוּZe.ruH2219Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063soכְּפִי־ke.fi-H6310that noלֹא־lo'-H3808manאִישׁ֙'ishH376liftsנָשָׂ֣אna.Sa'H5375up his headרֹאשׁ֔וֹro.ShoH7218;but theseאֵ֙לֶּה֙'e.lehH428craftsmenhave comeוַיָּבֹ֤אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to terrifyלְהַחֲרִ֣ידle.ha.cha.RidH2729them, tothrowH3034downH3034the hornsקַרְנ֣וֹתkar.NotH7161of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֗םha.go.YimH1471who have liftedהַנֹּשְׂאִ֥יםha.no.se.'ImH5375up theirhornsקֶ֛רֶןKe.renH7161againstאֶל־'el-H413the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063in order to scatterלְזָרוֹתָֽהּ׃ סle.za.ro.TahH2219it.”
