1Now it cameוַיְהִ֗יvay.HiH1961about afterאַחֲרֵ֛י'a.cha.ReiH310the deathמ֥וֹתMotH4194of Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872the servantעֶ֣בֶד'E.vedH5650of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,that the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068spokeוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091the sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנ֔וּןNunH5126,Moses’מֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872servantמְשָׁרֵ֥תme.sha.RetH8334,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2“Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872My servantעַבְדִּ֖י'av.DiH5650is deadמֵ֑תMetH4191;nowוְעַתָּה֩ve.'a.TahH6258therefore ariseק֨וּםkumH6965,crossעֲבֹ֜ר'a.VorH5674thisהַזֶּ֗הha.ZehH2088Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֣ןhai.yar.DenH3383,you and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971,to the landהָאָ֕רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁ֧ר'a.SherH834I am givingנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414to them, to the sonsלִבְנֵ֥יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

3Everyכָּל־kol-H3605placeמָק֗וֹםma.KomH4725on whichH834the soleכַּֽף־kaf-H3709of your footרַגְלְכֶ֛םrag.le.KhemH7272treadsתִּדְרֹ֧ךְtid.RokhH1869,I have givenנְתַתִּ֑יוne.ta.TivH5414it to you, justH3512as I spokeדִּבַּ֖רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696to Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

4From the wildernessמֵהַמִּדְבָּר֩me.ha.mid.BarH4057and thisהַזֶּ֜הha.ZehH2088Lebanonוְהַלְּבָנ֨וֹןve.ha.le.va.NonH3844,even as farוְֽעַד־ve.'ad-H5704as the greatהַגָּד֣וֹלha.ga.DolH1419riverהַנָּהָ֧רha.na.HarH5104,the riverנְהַר־ne.har-H5104Euphratesפְּרָ֗תpe.RatH6578,allכֹּ֚לkolH3605the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of the Hittitesהַֽחִתִּ֔יםha.chi.TimH2850,and as farוְעַד־ve.'ad-H5704as the Greatהַגָּד֖וֹלha.ga.DolH1419Seaהַיָּ֥םhai.YamH3220toward the settingמְב֣וֹאme.Vo'H3996of the sunהַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁha.Sha.meshH8121will be your territoryגְּבוּלְכֶֽם׃ge.vu.le.KhemH1366.

5NoH3808manאִישׁ֙'ishH376will be able tostandיִתְיַצֵּ֥בyit.ya.TzevH3320beforeלְפָנֶ֔יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440you allכֹּ֖לkolH3605the daysיְמֵ֣יye.MeiH3117of your lifeH2425.JustH3512as I have beenH1961with Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872, I will be with you;I will not failאַרְפְּךָ֖'ar.pe.KhaH7503you or forsakeאֶעֶזְבֶֽךָּ׃'e.'ez.Ve.kaH5800you.

6Be strongחֲזַ֖קcha.ZakH2388and courageousוֶאֱמָ֑ץve.'e.MatzH553,for you shall giveH5157thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971possessionH5157of the landהָאָ֕רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I sworeנִשְׁבַּ֥עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650to their fathersלַאֲבוֹתָ֖םla.'a.vo.TamH1to giveלָתֵ֥תla.TetH5414them.

7OnlyH7534be strongחֲזַ֨קcha.ZakH2388and veryמְאֹ֗דme.'OdH3966courageousוֶֽאֱמַ֜ץve.'e.MatzH553;be carefulלִשְׁמֹ֤רlish.MorH8104to doלַעֲשׂוֹת֙la.'a.sOtH6213according to allכְּכָל־ke.khol-H3605the lawהַתּוֹרָ֗הha.to.RahH8451whichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872My servantעַבְדִּ֔י'av.DiH5650commandedצִוְּךָ֙tzi.ve.KhaH6680you; do not turnתָּס֥וּרta.SurH5493from it to the rightיָמִ֣יןya.MinH3225or to the leftוּשְׂמֹ֑אולu.se.MolH8040,soלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616that you mayhaveH7919successH7919whereverבְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥רbe.Khol 'a.SherH3605 H834you goתֵּלֵֽךְ׃te.LekhH1980.

8Thisהַזֶּ֜הha.ZehH2088bookסֵפֶר֩se.FerH5612of the lawהַתּוֹרָ֨הha.to.RahH8451shall not departיָמ֡וּשׁya.MushH4185from your mouthמִפִּ֗יךָmi.Pi.khaH6310,but you shall meditateוְהָגִ֤יתָve.ha.Gi.taH1897on it dayיוֹמָ֣םyo.MamH3119and nightוָלַ֔יְלָהva.Lay.lahH3915,soלְמַ֙עַן֙le.Ma.'anH4616that you maybe carefulתִּשְׁמֹ֣רtish.MorH8104to doלַעֲשׂ֔וֹתla.'a.SotH6213according to allכְּכָל־ke.khol-H3605that is writtenהַכָּת֖וּבha.ka.TuvH3789in it;for thenאָ֛ז'azH227you will makeתַּצְלִ֥יחַtatz.Li.achH6743your wayדְּרָכֶ֖ךָde.ra.Khe.khaH1870prosperousH6743,and thenוְאָ֥זve.'AzH227you willhaveH7919successH7919.

9Have I not commandedצִוִּיתִ֙יךָ֙tzi.vi.Ti.khaH6680you?Be strongחֲזַ֣קcha.ZakH2388and courageousוֶאֱמָ֔ץve.'e.MatzH553!Do not trembleתַּעֲרֹ֖ץta.'a.RotzH6206or be dismayedתֵּחָ֑תte.ChatH2865,for the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430is with you whereverבְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥רbe.Khol 'a.SherH3605 H834you goתֵּלֵֽךְ׃ פte.LekhH1980.”

10Then Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091commandedוַיְצַ֣וvay.TzavH6680the officersשֹׁטְרֵ֥יsho.te.ReiH7860of the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

11“Passעִבְר֣וּ׀'iv.RuH5674through the midstבְּקֶ֣רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130of the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֗הha.ma.cha.NehH4264and commandוְצַוּ֤וּve.tza.VuH6680the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘Prepareהָכִ֥ינוּha.Khi.nuH3559provisionsצֵידָ֑הtzei.DahH6720for yourselves, for withinבְּע֣וֹד׀be.'odH5750threeשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁתshe.Lo.shetH7969daysיָמִ֗יםya.MimH3117you are to crossעֹֽבְרִים֙'oe.RimH5674thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֣ןhai.yar.DenH3383,to goלָבוֹא֙la.Vo'H935in to possessלָרֶ֣שֶׁתla.Re.shetH3423the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430is givingנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414you, to possessלְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃ סle.rish.TahH3423it.’”

12To the Reubenitesוְלָרֽאוּבֵנִי֙ve.la.r.'u.ve.NiH7206and to the Gaditesוְלַגָּדִ֔יve.la.ga.DiH1425and to the half-tribeוְלַחֲצִ֖י שֵׁ֣בֶטve.la.cha.Tzi She.vetH2677 H7626of Manassehהַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֑הham.na.ShehH4519,Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091saidH559,

14Your wivesנְשֵׁיכֶ֣םne.shei.KhemH802,your littleטַפְּכֶם֮ta.pe.KhemH2945onesH2945,and your cattleוּמִקְנֵיכֶם֒u.mik.nei.KhemH4735shall remainיֵשְׁב֕וּye.she.VuH3427in the landבָּאָ֕רֶץba.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872gaveנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414you beyondבְּעֵ֣בֶרbe.'E.verH5676the Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֑ןhai.yar.DenH3383,but you shall crossתַּעַבְר֨וּta.'av.RuH5674beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440your brothersאֲחֵיכֶ֗ם'a.chei.KhemH251in battleחֲמֻשִׁ֜יםcha.mu.ShimH2571arrayH2571,allכֹּ֚לkolH3605your valiantהַחַ֔יִלha.Cha.yilH2428warriorsגִּבּוֹרֵ֣יgi.bo.ReiH1368,and shall helpוַעֲזַרְתֶּ֖םva.'a.zar.TemH5826them,

15untilעַ֠ד'adH5704the Lordיְהוָ֥ה׀Yah.wehH3068givesיָנִ֨יחַya.Ni.achH5117your brothersלַֽאֲחֵיכֶם֮la.'a.chei.KhemH251restH5117, as He givesyou, and they alsoגַם־gam-H1571possessוְיָרְשׁ֣וּve.ya.re.ShuH3423the landהָאָ֕רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichH834the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430is givingנֹתֵ֣ןno.TenH5414them.Then you shall returnוְשַׁבְתֶּ֞םve.shav.TemH7725toyour ownיְרֻשַּׁתְכֶם֙ye.ru.shat.KhemH3425landלְאֶ֤רֶץle.'E.retzH776,and possessוִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֣םvi.rish.TemH3423that whichH834Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872the servantעֶ֣בֶד'E.vedH5650of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068gaveנָתַ֣ןna.TanH5414you beyondבְּעֵ֥בֶרbe.'E.verH5676the Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֖ןhai.yar.DenH3383toward the sunriseמִזְרַ֥ח הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃miz.Rach ha.Sha.meshH4217 H8121.”

16They answeredוַֽיַּעֲנ֔וּvai.ya.'a.NuH6030Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Allכֹּ֤לkolH3605that you have commandedצִוִּיתָ֙נוּ֙tzi.vi.Ta.nuH6680us we will doנַֽעֲשֶׂ֔הna.'a.SehH6213,and whereverוְאֶֽל־ כָּל־ve.'el- kol-H413 H3605 H834you sendתִּשְׁלָחֵ֖נוּtish.la.Che.nuH7971us we will goנֵלֵֽךְ׃ne.LekhH1980.

17JustH3605 H834as we obeyedשָׁמַ֙עְנוּ֙sha.Ma'.nuH8085Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872in allH3605thingsH3605,soכֵּ֖ןkenH3651we will obeyנִשְׁמַ֣עnish.Ma'H8085you; onlyH7534may the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430be with you as He was with Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

18Anyoneכָּל־ אִ֞ישׁkol- 'ishH3605 H376whoH834rebelsיַמְרֶ֣הyam.RehH4784againstH854yourcommandפִּ֗יךָPi.khaH6310and does not obeyיִשְׁמַ֧עyish.Ma'H8085your wordsדְּבָרֶ֛יךָde.va.Rei.khaH1697in allלְכֹ֥לle.KholH3605that you commandתְּצַוֶּ֖נּוּte.tzav.Ve.nuH6680him, shall be putיוּמָ֑תyu.MatH4191to deathH4191;onlyH7534be strongחֲזַ֥קcha.ZakH2388and courageousוֶאֱמָֽץ׃ פve.'e.MatzH553.”
