Matthew 8
American Standard Version
1And when he was comeG2597 down from the mountainG3735, greatG4183 multitudesG3793 followedG190 him. 2And beholdG2400, there cameG4334 to him a leperG3015 and worshipped him, sayingG3004, LordG2962, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3And he stretchedG1614 forth his handG5495, and touchedG681 him, sayingG3004, I willG2309; be thou made clean. And straightway his leprosyG3014 was cleansedG2511. 4And JesusG2424 saith unto him, SeeG3708 thou tellG3004 no man; but goG5217, showG1166 thyself to the priestG2409, and offerG4374 the giftG1435 that MosesG3475 commandedG4367, for a testimonyG3142 unto them.
5And when he was enteredG1525 into CapernaumG2584, there cameG4334 unto him a centurionG1543, beseechingG3870 him, 6and sayingG3004, LordG2962, my servantG3816 lieth in the houseG3614 sick of the palsy, grievously tormentedG928. 7And he saith unto him, I will comeG2064 and healG2323 him. 8And the centurionG1543 answeredG611 and saidG3004, LordG2962, I amG1510 not worthyG2425 that thou shouldest comeG1525 under my roofG4721; but onlyG3440 sayG3004 the wordG3056, and my servantG3816 shall beG1510 healedG2390. 9For I alsoG2532 amG1510 a manG444 under authorityG1849, having under myself soldiersG4757: and I sayG3004 to this oneG3778, GoG4198, and he goeth; and to another, ComeG2064, and he cometh; and to my servantG1401, Do this, and he doeth it. 10And when JesusG2424 heardG191 it, he marvelled, and saidG3004 to them that followedG190, Verily I sayG3004 unto you, I have not foundG2147 so greatG5118 faithG4102, no, not in IsraelG2474. 11And I sayG3004 unto you, that manyG4183 shall comeG2240 from the eastG395 and the westG1424, and shall sit down with AbrahamG11, and IsaacG2464, and JacobG2384, in the kingdomG932 of heavenG3772: 12but the sonsG5207 of the kingdomG932 shall beG1510 castG1544 forthG1831 into the outerG1857 darknessG4655: there shall beG1510 the weepingG2805 and the gnashingG1030 of teethG3599. 13And JesusG2424 saidG3004 unto the centurionG1543, GoG5217 thy way; as thou hast believedG4100, so be it done unto thee. And the servantG3816 was healedG2390 in that hourG5610.
14And when JesusG2424 was comeG2064 into Peter’s houseG3614, he sawG3708 his wife’s mother lying sick of a feverG4445. 15And he touchedG681 her handG5495, and the feverG4446 leftG863 her; and she arose, and ministeredG1247 unto him. 16And when evenG2532 was comeG1096, they broughtG4374 unto him manyG4183 possessed with demons: and he castG1544 out the spiritsG4151 with a wordG3056, and healedG2323 all that were sickG2560: 17that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through IsaiahG2268 the prophetG4396, sayingG3004, Himself tookG2983 our infirmitiesG769, and bare our diseasesG3554.
18NowG1161 when JesusG2424 sawG3708 greatG4183 multitudesG3793 about him, he gave commandment to departG565 unto the otherG4008 sideG4008. 19And there cameG4334 a scribeG1122, and saidG3004 unto him, TeacherG1320, I will followG190 thee whithersoever thou goest. 20And JesusG2424 saith unto him, The foxesG258 have holes, and the birdsG4071 of the heavenG3772 have nestsG2682; but the SonG5207 of manG444 hath not whereG4226 to lay his headG2776. 21And another of the disciplesG3101 saidG3004 unto him, LordG2962, suffer me firstG4413 to goG565 and buryG2290 my fatherG3962. 22But JesusG2424 saith unto him, FollowG190 me; and leaveG863 the deadG3498 to buryG2290 their ownG1438 deadG3498.
23And when he was entered into a boatG4143, his disciplesG3101 followedG190 him. 24And beholdG2400, there aroseG1096 a greatG3173 tempest in the seaG2281, insomuch that the boatG4143 was coveredG2572 with the waves: but he was asleep. 25And they cameG4334 to him, and awoke him, sayingG3004, SaveG4982, LordG2962; we perishG622. 26And he saith unto them, WhyG5101 areG1510 ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebukedG2008 the windsG417 and the seaG2281; and there wasG1510 a greatG3173 calmG1055. 27And the menG444 marvelled, sayingG3004, What manner of manG444 isG1510 this, that evenG2532 the windsG417 and the seaG2281 obeyG5219 him?
28And when he was comeG2064 to the otherG4008 sideG4008 into the countryG5561 of the Gadarenes, there met him twoG1417 possessed with demons, comingG2064 forthG1831 out of the tombsG3419, exceeding fierce, so that no man could passG3928 by that wayG3598. 29And beholdG2400, they criedG2896 out, sayingG3004, What have we to do with thee, thou SonG5207 of GodG2316? art thou comeG2064 hither to tormentG928 us before the timeG2540? 30NowG1161 there wasG1510 afar off from them a herdG34 of manyG4183 swine feedingG1006. 31And the demons besought him, sayingG3004, If thou castG1544 us out, sendG649 us away into the herdG34 of swine. 32And he saidG3004 unto them, GoG5217. And they cameG1831 out, and wentG1831 into the swine: and beholdG2400, the whole herdG34 rushedG3729 down the steepG2911 into the seaG2281, and perished in the watersG5204. 33And they that fed them fledG5343, and wentG565 awayG565 into the cityG4172, and toldG518 everythingG3956, and what was befallen to them that were possessed with demons. 34And beholdG2400, all the cityG4172 cameG1831 out to meetG5222 JesusG2424: and when they sawG3708 him, they besought him that he would departG3327 from their borders.
