Isaiah 7:3-16
And Jehovah saidH559 to IsaiahH3470, GoH3318 out now to meet AhazH271, thou and thy sonH1121 Shear-jashub, at the endH7097 of the aqueduct of the upperH5945 poolH1295, on the highwayH4546 of the fuller's fieldH7704;
and thou shalt sayH559 unto him, TakeH8104 heedH8104 and be quietH8252; fearH3372 not, and let not thy heartH3824 faint before these twoH8147 ends of smokingH6226 firebrands, because of the fierce angerH639 of RezinH7526 and Syria, and of the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425.
Inasmuch as Syria hath taken evilH7451 counselH3289 against thee, EphraimH669 [also] and the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425, sayingH559,
Let us goH5927 up against JudahH3063, and harass it, and make a breach therein for us, and set up a kingH4428 therein — the sonH1121 of Tabeal;
thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: It shall not standH6965, nor come to pass;
for the headH7218 of Syria is DamascusH1834, and the headH7218 of DamascusH1834 is RezinH7526; and within sixty-five yearsH8141 shall EphraimH669 be broken, so as to be no [more a] peopleH5971;
and the headH7218 of EphraimH669 is SamariaH8111, and the headH7218 of SamariaH8111 is Remaliah's sonH1121. If ye believeH539 not, surely ye shall not be establishedH539.
And Jehovah spokeH1696 again to AhazH271, sayingH559,
AskH7592 for thee a signH226 from Jehovah thy 1GodH430; askH7592 for it in the deepH6009, or in the height above.
And AhazH271 saidH559, I will not askH7592, and will not tempt Jehovah.
And he saidH559, HearH8085 then, houseH1004 of DavidH1732: Is it a smallH4592 matter for you to wearyH3811 menH376, that ye wearyH3811 alsoH1571 my 2GodH430?
ThereforeH3651 will the LordH136 himself giveH5414 you a signH226: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and shall bring forthH3205 a sonH1121, and callH7121 his nameH8034 Immanuel.
Butter and honeyH1706 shall he eatH398, that he may knowH3045 to refuse the evilH7451, and to chooseH977 the goodH2896.
For before the child knoweth to refuse the evilH7451 and to chooseH977 the goodH2896, the landH127 whose twoH8147 kingsH4428 thou fearest shall be forsaken.
