Isaiah 3:1-9

For behold, the Lord, Jehovah of hostsH6635, will take awayH5493 from JerusalemH3389 and from JudahH3063 stay and staffH4938, the whole stay of breadH3899, and the whole stay of waterH4325,

the mightyH1368 manH376 and the manH376 of warH4421, the judgeH8199 and the prophetH5030, and the divinerH7080 and the elderH2205,

the captain of fiftyH2572, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the clever among artificers, and the oneH5375 versed in enchantments.

And I will appoint youthsH5288 as their princesH8269, and children shall ruleH4910 over them.

And the peopleH5971 shall be oppressed oneH376 by the other, and each by his neighbour; the child will be insolent against the elderH2205, and the base against the honourable.

When a manH376 shall take hold of his brotherH251, in his father's houseH1004, [and shall say:] Thou hast clothingH8071; beH1961 our chief, and let this ruin beH1961 under thy handH3027;

he will liftH5375 up [his hand] in that dayH3117, sayingH559, I cannot beH1961 a healer, and in my houseH1004 there is neither breadH3899 nor clothingH8071; ye shall not makeH7760 me a chief of the peopleH5971.

For JerusalemH3389 stumbleth and JudahH3063 falleth, because their tongueH3956 and their doings are against Jehovah, to provoke the eyesH5869 of his gloryH3519.

The look of their faceH6440 doth witness against them, and they declareH5046 their sinH2403 as SodomH5467: they hideH3582 it not. WoeH188 unto their soulH5315! for they have brought evilH7451 upon themselves.
