Isaiah 1:1-22
The visionH2377 of IsaiahH3470 the sonH1121 of Amos, which he sawH2372 concerning JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 in the daysH3117 of UzziahH5818, JothamH3147, AhazH271, HezekiahH2396, kingsH4428 of JudahH3063.
HearH8085, [ye] heavensH8064, and giveH238 earH238, [thou] earthH776! for Jehovah hath spokenH1696: I have nourished and brought up children; and they have rebelledH6586 against me.
The oxH7794 knoweth his ownerH1167, and the ass his master's crib; IsraelH3478 doth not knowH3045, my peopleH5971 hath no intelligence.
Ah sinful nationH1471, a peopleH5971 laden with iniquityH5771, a seedH2233 of evildoers, children that corruptH7843 themselves! They have forsaken Jehovah; they have despised the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478; they are turned away backwardH268.
WhyH4100 should ye be smitten any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole headH7218 is sick, and the whole heartH3824 faintH1742.
From the soleH3709 of the footH7272 even unto the headH7218 there is no soundnessH4974 in him; woundsH4347, and weals, and open sores: they have not been dressed, nor boundH2280 up, nor mollified with oilH8081.
Your country is desolate; your citiesH5892 are burnedH8313 with fireH784; your landH776, strangersH2114 eatH398 it up in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangersH2114.
And the daughterH1323 of ZionH6726 is leftH3498, as a boothH5521 in a vineyardH3754, as a night-lodge in a cucumber-garden, as a besieged cityH5892.
Unless Jehovah of hostsH6635 had leftH3498 us a very smallH4592 residue, we should have beenH1961 as SodomH5467, we should have beenH1961 like unto GomorrahH6017.
HearH8085 the wordH1697 of Jehovah, rulersH7101 of SodomH5467; giveH238 earH238 unto the lawH8451 of our 1GodH430, peopleH5971 of GomorrahH6017!
To what purpose is the multitudeH7230 of your sacrificesH2077 unto me? saith Jehovah. I am sated with burnt-offerings of ramsH352, and the fatH2459 of fed beasts; and in the bloodH1818 of bullocks, and of lambsH3532, and of he-goats I take no pleasureH2654.
When ye comeH935 to appearH7200 before me, who hath requiredH1245 this from your handH3027 — to tread my courts?
BringH935 no more vain oblations! IncenseH7004 is an abominationH8441 unto me, — newH2320 moonH2320 and sabbathH7676, the callingH7121 of convocationsH4744 — wickednessH205 and the solemnH6116 meeting I cannot bear.
Your newH2320 moonsH2320 and your set feastsH4150 my soulH5315 hateth: they are a burdenH2960 to me; I amH1961 weariedH3811 of bearingH5375 [them].
And when ye spreadH6566 forth your handsH3027, I will hideH5956 mine eyesH5869 from you; yea, when ye makeH8085 manyH7235 prayersH8605, I will not hearH8085: your handsH3027 are fullH4390 of bloodH1818.
WashH7364 you, make you clean; put awayH5493 the evil of your doings from before mine eyesH5869; — ceaseH2308 to do evil,
learnH3925 to do wellH3190: seekH1875 judgmentH4941, gladden the oppressed, do justiceH4941 to the fatherlessH3490, plead for the widowH490.
Come now, let us reason together, saith Jehovah: though your sinsH2399 beH1961 as scarletH8144, they shall beH1961 as whiteH3835 as snowH7950; though they beH1961 redH119 like crimsonH8438, they shall beH1961 as woolH6785.
If ye be willingH14 and hearken, ye shall eatH398 the goodH2898 of the landH776;
but if ye refuseH3985 and rebelH4784, ye shall be devouredH398 with the swordH2719: for the mouthH6310 of Jehovah hath spokenH1696.
HowH349 is the faithfulH539 city becomeH1961 a harlot! It wasH1961 fullH4395 of judgmentH4941; righteousnessH6664 used to lodge in it, but nowH6258 murderersH7523.
Thy silverH3701 is becomeH1961 dross, thy wine is mixed with waterH4325:
