Romans 6
American Standard Version
1What shall we sayG3004 thenG3767? Shall we continueG1961 in sinG266, that graceG5485 may abound? 2God forbid. We who diedG599 to sinG266, howG4459 shall we any longerG2089 liveG2198 therein? 3Or are ye ignorantG50 that all we who were baptizedG907 into ChristG5547 JesusG2424 were baptizedG907 into his deathG2288? 4We were buried thereforeG3767 with him through baptismG908 into deathG2288: that like as ChristG5547 was raisedG1453 from the deadG3498 through the gloryG1391 of the FatherG3962, so we alsoG2532 might walkG4043 in newnessG2538 of lifeG2222. 5For if we have becomeG1096 united with him in the likenessG3667 of his deathG2288, we shall beG1510 alsoG2532 in the likenessG3667 of his resurrectionG386; 6knowingG1097 this, that our oldG3820 manG444 was crucified with him, that the bodyG4983 of sinG266 might be done awayG2673, that so we should noG3371 longerG3371 be in bondage to sinG266; 7for he that hath diedG599 is justifiedG1344 from sinG266. 8But if we diedG599 with ChristG5547, we believeG4100 that we shall alsoG2532 liveG4800 with him; 9knowing that ChristG5547 being raisedG1453 from the deadG3498 dieth no more; deathG2288 no more hath dominion over him. 10For the death that he diedG599, he diedG599 unto sinG266 onceG2178: but the life that he liveth, he liveth unto GodG2316. 11EvenG2532 so reckon ye alsoG2532 yourselvesG1438 to beG1510 deadG3498 unto sinG266, but aliveG2198 unto GodG2316 in ChristG5547 JesusG2424.
12Let not sinG266 thereforeG3767 reignG936 in your mortalG2349 bodyG4983, that ye should obeyG5219 the lustsG1939 thereof: 13neither presentG3936 your membersG3196 unto sinG266 as instrumentsG3696 of unrighteousnessG93; but presentG3936 yourselves unto GodG2316, as aliveG2198 from the deadG3498, and your membersG3196 as instrumentsG3696 of righteousnessG1343 unto GodG2316. 14For sinG266 shall not have dominion over you: for ye areG1510 not under lawG3551, but under graceG5485.
15What thenG3767? shall we sinG264, because we areG1510 not under lawG3551, but under graceG5485? God forbid. 16Know ye not, that to whom ye presentG3936 yourselves as servantsG1401 unto obedienceG5218, his servantsG1401 ye areG1510 whom ye obeyG5219; whether of sinG266 unto deathG2288, or of obedienceG5218 unto righteousnessG1343? 17But thanksG5485 beG1510 to GodG2316, that, whereas ye wereG1510 servantsG1401 of sinG266, ye became obedientG5219 from the heartG2588 to that form of teachingG1322 whereunto ye wereG1510 deliveredG3860; 18and being made freeG1659 from sinG266, ye becameG1402 servants of righteousnessG1343. 19I speakG3004 after the mannerG3779 of men because of the infirmityG769 of your fleshG4561: for as ye presentedG3936 your membersG3196 as servantsG1401 to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity, evenG2532 so nowG3568 presentG3936 your membersG3196 as servantsG1401 to righteousnessG1343 unto sanctificationG38. 20For whenG3753 ye wereG1510 servantsG1401 of sinG266, ye wereG1510 freeG1658 in regard of righteousnessG1343. 21What fruitG2590 thenG5119 had ye at that timeG5119 in the thingsG3739 whereof ye are nowG3568 ashamedG1870? for the endG5056 of those thingsG3739 is deathG2288. 22But nowG1161 being made freeG1659 from sinG266 and become servants to GodG2316, ye have your fruitG2590 unto sanctificationG38, and the endG5056 eternalG166 lifeG2222. 23For the wages of sinG266 is deathG2288; but the free giftG5486 of GodG2316 is eternalG166 lifeG2222 in ChristG5547 JesusG2424 our LordG2962.
